Fault code 18010 P1602
I think so... Apparently the cam sensor code is very specific to the sensor. But it could also mean the timing is a gnats out.. which is confusing. We had the voltage high error and was advised to unplug it to check the code again - and it should produce a low voltage error. It didn't, we still got the voltage high. At the moment we're still monitoring it but the code has gone. We're going to get the garage to check the timing when it goes in..

1.8T camshaft sensor??
It's back!! 16727 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) P0343 - 35-10 - Signal too High - Intermittent Tried to get some numbers from VCDS but couldn't find the relevant group. Car starts and runs fine, not even a hint of a misfire, have visually checked all wiring and connections and they look good too.. **edit** There's 2 codes for O2 sensors (I twisted the exhaust and now it's blowing, just cba to get under there right now - swmbo wants a new cat back anyway), could this be related since, I believe (from googling numerous VAG sites), that the cam sensor and emissions are linked?

This one's ours - Mk1 vRS Combi, Black Magic
Filters arrived from GSF, replaced air filter and fitted cabin filter (because it didn't have one).. So now I'm searching for the plastic surround/cover/whatever is supposed to be there... And one of the small over covers pinged off the scuttle (broke the glue that was holding it in place) so I'm looking for one of those too..

vRS coil packs..
No clue.. We've only had the car a couple of weeks.. They'll be changed in the next few weeks though..

This one's ours - Mk1 vRS Combi, Black Magic
I did that for the golf, they're mostly pu leather and poorly padded. If I fail on the retrim, though, an ebay special will be coming - just don't tell the missus

vRS coil packs..
TPS Ipswich won't deal as we're not traders. Used to pop in to Ipswich VW for parts and they'd walk 50yds to TPS. Infuriating.

This one's ours - Mk1 vRS Combi, Black Magic
Thanks to @DeanVRS20VT for the heads up, we now have an armrest.. Bit of fiddling to get it just in the right place but it's done. Just need to find the spare lid I started to retrim in leather....

vRS coil packs..
Local Skoda say no outstanding recalls.. Any idea who makes OEM? My guess would be Delphi or Bosch...

1.8T camshaft sensor??
Picked the sensor up this morning, swmbo had it fitted in 10 mins.. EML out, car starts and runs lovely again.

vRS coil packs..
Took the engine cover off today and noticed the top of this coil pack is a bit manky.. Some questions.. Does it look like it could do with replacing? If so, is there any benefits to upgrading all 4? If so, what do we upgrade with? Thanks chaps

This one's ours - Mk1 vRS Combi, Black Magic
Could be a bit of a slow burner and we've not washed it yet but here it is.. Took us 5 years to buy one, and we think this is a goodun in spite of having no goodies.

"Dynamic" indicators
Got a source for the info please Nick? (I'm not disbelieving you, having an additional source to reference is always useful)..

"Dynamic" indicators
Are you sure? Double checked the government and mot tester sites ..... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles/4-lamps-reflectors-and-electrical-equipment#section-4-4-1

Buying OBDeleven
Tax would be VAT.. there should be no other taxes to pay because under £135 value the tax is paid by the vendor (i.e. added at their end), not the buyer.. Even if you had to pay vat on the £67 it'd still be a tenner less than Amazon.

1.8T camshaft sensor??
It did have a recent cambelt.. but we've done a thousand or so miles in it since buying it, I would have thought related issues would have showed themselves sooner? I've got a Bosch one (would have preferred genuine but couldn't find one quick enough) on click and collect from ECP, should be ready Tuesday morning - watched a video, should be a quick job (give swmbo a chance to wield her spanners again).

1.8T camshaft sensor??
Car is refusing to start (Mk1 vRS 1.8T), VCDS says.. 1 Fault Found: 16727 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) P0343 - 35-00 - Signal too High Readiness: 0110 1101 We come from a GM background where any fault code could be an indication of any fault anywhere, pretty much.. The symptoms fit with a duff sensor, does the error?? If anyone has a part number (while we go searching too) I'd appreciate the help **edit** we found 058905161B if anyone could confirm/deny (and I need one yesterday, preferably genuine, or recommended brand)

2021 F1 Discussion
Thoroughly enjoyable opener.. only got the highlights but what a race I don't really get all the Hamilton hate... totally understand that some won't like him but the level of vitriol is unreal... Good to see that it looks like there's some real competition for #1 this year, hope that race 1 was the shape of things to come.

Climatronic error 119
Thanks mate, appreciate the input.... I have vcds but haven't plugged it in yet (bit of a newb with it and swmbo has had the car every day).. wonder if the 119 could be an old code that's stored.. that'd make at least some sense.
-
Climatronic error 119
So it's telling me there is a fault but no error? There's nothing wrong with the speed sensor because the speedo is working properly.. so I'm a bit perplexed..

Climatronic error 119
Googling this and it seems that the 00 part of the display means there's no errors?? This is very confusing.. Not sure whether it's my deodorant or something but I really would appreciate some help if possible
