  3. We still have an SRi150 one of those.. in black.
  4. Way too many parts for my eyes to pick out but see if you can see it here.. https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2003-252/8/881-881007/
  5. I had a Jungle Green mk3 Cavalier... lovely colour, pearlescent - a bit darker than the Audi green iirc? I've seen pics of Race Blue mk1's. They do look nice imo but (also imo) not quite right.
  6. Lovely colour, an absolute pain in the bum to keep clean - although, so's black so.......
  7. Where did you source the blue mirror glass from ? Mine has grotty regular silver and it's bleugh. I have a pair of Golf 4 mirrors with blue glass but, as you say, the connectors are all the way over there and I cba to extend any wiring. The grot behind the arch liners is well-known, I really need to do mine... only been on the to do list since March. 😐
  8. Maybe 2 degrees cooler and driven a lot harder. It's just non scientific comparisons for my own amusement. Pick it apart for your own if you must
  9. Mine doesn't... should I be concerned?
  10. I have a thermometer (fat white pill thing in the pic) dangling in what I think is possibly the hottest part.. it links to my phone via an app and I can dynamically monitor the temperature (and make charts too, if I can work out how). I was hoping to find out the difference, with regard to temperature, between OE and what I have now - should have planned it better and I'd have known..
  11. Well they aren't usually but they do sometimes dangle a bit, previous keeper may have been worried it was hanging too low? ... as long as it's not affecting the function I see no issue tbh. Could always cut it loose and see... if it's too low, re cable tie it.
  12. Handbrake cable?? That'd be my guess.. see where it terminates...
  13. Not at all.. I think there's enough people like RTech have supplied, fitted and advocated them that they can't be all that bad.. although I am, historically, very anti-cone (not even panel filters get a look in usually, I've only ever had 1 car that has benefitted from one). Ok, hardly scientific.. On a warm day, normal driving, not sat in traffic, then sat idling outside the house for a few minutes, the thermometer thingy indicated 32 degrees and was climbing quite steadily. Can't remember if I posted in my thread about fitting the gold reflective tape.. but I did that.. and then.. On a cooler day, a little A-road traffic, after a very spirited drive and sat outside idling for a few minutes, we had 27.5 degrees and slowly climbing. With nothing to compare it to I don't know whether that's good, bad or ugly.. doesn't seem much noisier with the cone though.. which is ok, my neighbours appreciate it, I'm sure.
  14. Yep.. sure would.
  15. Hamilton calmed down quick once he was out of the car.. seemed a very angry young fellow following his tyre stop. Be cool if this goes to Abu Dhabi for the championship. Nice to see Bottas win, even though he's not exactly a team player he seems an ok fellow. Decent points for Norris too.. which is nice.
  16. Missus and daughter both have TransK9 and they are very good.
  17. Looks like a job well done fella.... You shouldn't need to splice into the obd port, an ELM327 Bluetooth adapter (double check that - it's been a while) should connect to the Torque app on your head unit - I'm assuming it has Bluetooth..
  18. Nice one..... I'd be happy with that too... (in fact, that's about where I want to be next year)..
  19. It's the little things, right? Had already replaced the bolt with a sparkly new s/steel one...
  20. Did a thing or 2.. Strut brace in. Obviously some holes didn't line up but they do now. Because I've had a couple of decades campaigning against cone filters I'm paranoid about heat soak so some gold happened.
  21. There's some very good guides for the Mk4 Golf (https://www.uk-mkivs.net/ is my go to for Mk4 stuff), should be very similar? I put heated seats in my old Mk4, laid the loom under the carpet and got it up and behind the dash but got lazy then and took it no further. The wiring wasn't difficult, I just lost the motivation. Sold the car with the business end of the loom coiled up near the windscreen.
  22. Nowhere for the tabs to go.... It's almost a solid black plastic sleeve in there.
  23. I have one of those conical drill bits.. Reckon that'd be OK? If not, my other bits stop at 8mm and then jump to 13.... they're all quality, and mostly new, but it's quite a jump. Need to order some punches I think..
  24. I jammed a double din cage in mine, as is the norm, and the head unit keeps creeping out. Not by much but creep out it does. Needs sorting. Not really sure how to fix it yet. Be interested in how you get on with the Chinesium Android unit, in my experience they are better than their cost might suggest...
