  1. I had seen exactly zero S3s on the road before this weekend when I saw a White estate near York on sat, a white estate near Thirsk on Sunday and a grey estate coming into Whitby on Sunday
  2. Same car, same idea as me... I think it will look fab. Do it. Then share pics For eighty quid you can't go wrong. As long as they're not idiots, should be able to remove it without any issue.
  3. ^ That doesn't seem right at all. I would check with the dealer...
  4. ^ Once again, exactly the same for me. No issue with stop/start whatsoever so I just leave it be. I keep meaning to try out the self parking but I'm sure it would take longer to fiddle around than just, you know, parking the thing...
  5. I don't have it and don't miss it. The screen is clear after a short while and if it was awful (wet or filthy) before setting off I'd probably squeegee or wet wipe it I can imagine if you lived down a dirt track or don't get a chance to clean it often it might be a pain. I clean the car quite regularly due to Her Majesty's 434 Seagull Squadron that use my car for target practice...
  6. Pretty much as above really. 190 4x4 DSG. Suits it really well I think. Easy to pootle around and very good in town. Happy enough when making progress too. I've only put about 1.5K miles on mine so far but absolutely the right gearbox for me.
  7. I prefer the drink on that side, assuming the self seal is reliable. I drink with that hand anyway and tall cups just seem 'in the way' in the central position. Plus if there is a catastrophic drink spillage incident, I would rather it was over my feet or the door pocket rather than the gear selector and central console
  8. I just completed a Friday afternoon Whitby-Leicester run full laden with the family and associated child carnage. Using ACC but intervening when eejits slowed process uncomfortably, I got a solid 49.0. I must admit I had hoped motorway runs would be in the 50s ... Anyone with a 190 DSG 4x4 hatch got any numbers to compare that to?
  9. I would definitely consider it, it gets Baltic round these parts in winter!
  10. Buy DVD. Put in drive. Enjoy. If you spent more time in the manual and less hooning around in your beastie you might know how No idea personally. Despite making a living from IT, ripping, transcoding and video wrappers are a black art to me.
  11. Given the Forum, does that make us SuperB Bladesmen from the Lane then? (Season ticket holder for years until moving away 2yrs ago...sniff)
  12. Ha! You're right - I guess mine had the 19"s as an option too (bought pre-owned) Good spot
  13. The only extra mine had was metallic paint and a spare wheel... However from your list all of these are standard: 19" wheels Tinted windows Kessy with alarm Electric full Leather seats Heated backseat Heated front window Electric boot DCC Columbus and canton mib II Park assist auto parking Blind spot detected Rear traffic alert ..and some more. So overall there isn't too much I would have wanted to add anyway
  14. ^ hehe. Oh, I also got a clear bumper protection film, hidden under the boot floor.
  15. Nope from me too. I did once have an unexpected 'all windows opened' event due to a stuffed pocket, but I have now disabled that via the menu so it won't happen again!
  16. Third that. I was thinking of a quick blast of ptfe spray - it's definitely plastic on plastic.
  17. I got a key ring. And a healthy cash discount
  18. ^ Although I currently get an 'error getting response' once the VIN is entered.
  19. http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/mini-apps/recall-actions/ Suspect they've had a site jiggle around
  20. There's enough pitchfork waving at the fact it closes electrically at all, never mind with a mere wave of the foot. It would be far too easy to engage it when getting stuff into or out of the boot by accident, rewarding you with a boot lid to the bonce...
  21. I can go and have a look, but I think there is something relating to the canton sound system under the passenger seat - a subwoofer? Control unit?
  22. It's a legal requirement when travelling to some countries. It is inexpensive, takes up no real room and may prove useful (or even save your life) at some point. Cars don't just break down on motorways and if you lose power and lights on a rural road at night you'll be very glad of one!
  23. Just had a run out between Whitby and Scarborough and back - the roads are winding and hilly but I used 'Eco' mode and got an indicated 52mpg which I was pretty pleased with considering it's the 190ps 4x4 DSG. Two adults, two kids and associated parephenalia
  24. No issues with mine. The pocket that the key is in has to be aligned with the rear badge for me, and a swift kick does it every time. Did take some experimentation initially.
