  1. same here, just because I couldn't wait months for delivery
  2. @toni8b, nope... just by experience sometimes I'm catching regens, even on long runs, and start to monitor start/stop status.
  3. Hi there, few times I've done 300km in one run, feel that regen starts, then going to see when it finishes and select Start/stop info display. ..which stays till the end of the run "engine needs to run", no matter that all consumers are off and regen is finished long ago (later checked with VAG DPF). Once I enter the city start/stop shuts the engine beside the message. Anyone experienced it?
  4. As stated in the title, looking for advices based on experience. Reading few very positive review of the new Bridgestone T005 decided to gve it chance. Then came into the info that Firestone RoadHawk is the same tyre for less money. The other optios are Conti Premium 5 and GoodYear EffGrip Performance. Both with rim protection, not like the first two. I'm looking to a safer tyre to replace my 'OK'-ish Continental Eco 5. Usually drive and change tyres every 3-4 years or around 40k km max. I'm reading very mutually excluding reviews on tyrereviews.co.uk from the best to the worst for each one I check Any comments are welcome! Thanks!
  5. did the previous to this one finished on low level? city driving for me usually does 120miles and regens..
  6. Happened twice the following strange situation. Long trip, regen starts (felt it and started looking at the start/stop on the Info status). After another 200km, the start stop never enabled till I reach the city. Where it stops on the first lights. Checking the DPF filter regen finished long ago and looks like start/stop status disabled was stuck or ... Anyone experienced it?
  7. @ninefivefour, more pics please. I've always liked the color
  8. @chaymus, please update once you find it. Just an idea, vacuum/oil pump can make similar noises when it's cold. Once temperature reaches 80 degress it disappears.
  9. @willemson, thanks for sharing. Only once my car was driven for 300km at 160km/h so good to hear it happens at all. As for ash - yes it's calculated and by some pattern. Connecting the VAG app to diff TDIs most have linear ash gain. Except for one car that was only driven only on short distances and mainly city driving. There the level was significantly more. I also agree revs do not help, ash burn is mostly the same. What happens is hill climb however. Under such load ash is being burned faster according to the app. I'm balanced person, like the car but this DPF is such a **** and ruins my experience. Almost totally to a level I drive my old car in town 95% of the time as it's a petrol.
  10. wow Never thought of this. Sounds logical to put more load on the engine, but honestly not very close to the mind. Interesting, if someone finds it please share
  11. @ScoutCJB, I have bought the app and monitored it. However nit on long journeys as the OBD adapter is need my knee and I risk to push it. So I was not aware of the 330C threshold for passive regen. Thanks
  12. can you please ellaborate on this?
  13. @sulus1179, @WesternDuke, do you see any difference b/n Castrol and Shell. Have to do similar choise very soon. Shell is cheaper, Castrol has bad reviews in the net. But how do you find your engine - sound, refined work, etc. Thanks!
  14. @shyVRS245, why do you think Shell VPower will be better. Just curious.
  15. Does anyone has information since when the new 'improved' pump is being used in production? My car is 2016 year week something like 20+
  16. @hrk555, nice one! Can you please do a closer photo of the front doors and the front sign above the tyre. First time I see this trim level..
  17. Well .. you can see a picture in the other thread that shows bellow 24 grams of soot and proper conditions you might have so called passive regens. However my experience looking at the app is that soot level only increases and active regens starts only at 100% ~ 24grams. Passive regens might help burning the soot but for me this is reflected only on slower soot mass build and not burning the existing.
  18. I share the same thoughts like @amwphotos Owning the diesel and doing mainly highways I feel very happy with it. DPF was initially an issue, not is not something I think of However .. 1.5 TSI if I have to buy now will be more reasonable. Not because of the anti-diesel media bullsh#ts but my mileage is not enough to justify the extra cost of purchase. And my car is used for family purposes - although I like the heavy stable feeling (and the sounds of bigger engine), I could live with cheaper and newer 1.5 TSI. Good luck!
  19. @daveface yeap looks like you've interrupted but nearly at the end. I guess it will not restart after. 35miles are more than enough. My observation shows that when temperature is reached you need ~10miles for full regen. Honestly said it's good to keep an eye on it but don't be too obsessed (like I was) - it's pretty good system, many people even do not bother thinking of it. However I also monitor it for my peace of mind. My stats show 80% B roads/highway and 20% city. For approx. 16k miles the oil ash level is 7%. Almost never interrupted it when caught. But I stopped caring too much it kills my joy of the car. Of course if I catch it I drive few more mins to finish, if not - it's anyway good enough Cheers! p.s. now I saw your mileage is 28k miles and soot level of 15% is as expected.
  20. @daveface check this link I've done some shots with explanations. Let me know if you need something else. Though your screenshot looks strange - soot level is low enough but beside this a regen is scheduled. And your soot levels are high, looks like your driving pattern is mainly city and short runs?
  21. @hravec can you please post more pics with the Turbines and the silver Octy? I have pre-face and thinking of buying ones... Thanks!
  22. Maybe a video could help us help you. There is a common issue with vacuum oil pump but I need to hear yours to compare it...
  23. As you said, if it's not a track car, 245 is more sensible and still fast. However on a traffic lights drags you might be disappointed :( However it's a pros&cons for both. Good choice you've made..
  24. Mine had scratches from day 1. I believe the material itself comes like this. Very much visible on direct sun light.Like swirls.
