  1. Tyres in my opinion are very subjective, my beef with these Goodyear's are on Scottish rough road surfaces (by design for rain & winter ice/snow) incredibly noisy and harsh riding at any pressure, the 2.4bar I stated is about bearable for me, plus although I have had the 4-wheel alignment checked several times I dont like the lack of grip in the wet ... I find them fairly dreadful compared to any Uniroyal or Nokian I have had in the past albeit on other cars. To balance that I did find them much quieter on German, Austrian and even Italian motorways ... so its maybe horses for courses, but in the wet, wet West Coast of Scotland where summer is 27mins on a random day at the end of June they get a big thumbs down from me. As I said my opinion
  2. Please report back how you get on 🙂
  3. I also find the 2.5bar eco pressures far too hard for me, coupled with the less than ideal Goodyear efficient grip tyres which I believe are the bigger culprit. However I run at 2.4bar and find things are much more to my liking in noise, harshness and grip .. I know its not much of a change but it makes me content. The Goodyear's are not long for this life so maybe I will like the eco setting on what I believe to be a better tyre of my choosing.
  4. Apart from having a moan at the company who did not reassemble you car properly, your Skoda dealer will be able to supply the parts. Hope that helps.
  5. Not sure about the Yeti, as they look (at the moment) ok'ish to me on the inner faces albeit they are in a surprisingly poor state, but have had similar with the rear disks on Renault, Volvo and MB ... my guess is probably something to do with the back plates causing a microclimate that retains the moisture and not drying out properly, hence the corrosion..... nothing technical, just an opinion. Someone will be along to give a technical answer I guess.
  6. ? not sure what part/section/comment you are referring to.
  7. Mmmmm I/we have had 5 cars that use Ad-Blue ... the earliest was a 2009 Merc, the last 2 were the Yeti and the Bavarian wonder ... never had an issue and thb apart from a few challenged drivers at work who put ad-blue in the fuel tank, never heard anything untoward, and the work fleet has well over 50 vehicles that use it.
  8. OK, I know I'm going to regret asking this, but Ad-Blue, what is the perceived issue with the fluid/system/use ... it successfully helps clean-up the emissions on diesel engines, doesn't cost much in the grand scale of things in comparison to the cost of fuel itself ... why the the downer?
  9. Does the OP's Yeti not have Start-Stop? ... not sure at 2013MY if it had been introduced by then ... if so does it not require an AGM battery (similar to the S4 E08) rather than just a std "Wet" battery like the first one being quoted?
  10. I don't believe the VW version of the updates require a VIN, plus the VW updates used to be ... not sure of the current position, were far newer than the Skoda version, and they load and work exactly the same. Hope it helps.
  11. Morning Ken, I did and gave it a thumbs up ... just surprised that no-one else has replied, hence my comment ...
  12. No one in Glasgow use indi's, or does everyone just use the main dealers .. Henrys, Parks and Uncle Arnie?

    Yup!

    Defo agree with that.

My sister was given that price a couple of months ago when she had the belt (apologies chain) on her 1.2 TSI Polo let go, lunching the engine ... that was from her trusted garage in Edinburgh ... sorry no more detail than that ... but it does show the kit is out there at that type of price ... just needs a bit of digging.

Would generally agree, but a good s/h engine with a warranty would only be in the £500-£900 arena plus fitting, so really no need to write-off ... its only a collection of bits after all and a good used engine can be good value.
  17. Morning, our Yeti is coming up for its 5 year service plus all the other add-ons, brake fluid, timing belt etc. To date it has been serviced/maintained by the supplying main dealer in Glasgow, but as its warranty/extended warranty has now expired I wondered if anyone had any recommendations or avoids for VAG/Skoda approved or indi's in the Glasgow area, or if I should just stick with what I know and swallow the bill. Audi Technik, A4Audi, AudiVW Repair, Philips Garage and of course Parks, and Uncle Arnie. Thanks for any Input/feedback
  18. Re the 2 small led's you mention only work if you dont have a pano roof, if you do then they are disabled ... it is mentioned in the owners handbook.
  19. TBH I didn't think studded tyres were legal on UK public roads, then or now!
  20. Surface rust like in the photo would not cause pressure cylinder failure ... even in the pictured state it would take a long time for the pressure cylinder to fail due to corrosion, unsightly, yes, and I would not be happy with SGS with the state on a "new" product, but I cant see the struts failing as you describe in that short amount of time. Good though that SGS did replace the struts, result.
  21. Fuel filter needing changed? ... had that on other diesels, where the servicing agent claimed the filter had been changed (and paid for,) but infact when looking at the filter it was still grubby, choked with gunge and full of water ...... New filter ... problem solved. Worth a check.
  22. That can also be the result of a cracked reluctor (ABS) ring ... if its not built into the disk or hub ... worth checking.
  23. I would agree ... my experience (admittedly with Volvo,) is 200k miles before cleaning .... however we have a couple of vehicles (Renault) at work that are at over 500k, and the DPF's have never been touched and are still operating as should.
  24. Don't know how you managed to quote that as coming from me in your previous post Urrell, but that is NOT my quote!
  25. Std feature, several Clio's in the family had the issue and several dry cleaning bills ... Renault even recalled the MK2 Clio and replaced the bonnet catches .... dont think it ever fixed the issue .... road gunge just stopped the catch from locking properly.
