  1. Plus as we don't know that model and year etc of Yeti ... in later FL diesels ... is that not where the Adblue tank resides?
  2. Maybe of help ... maybe not ..... ours can take anything upto 5 days before the light/warnings go out after a refill ... usually about 8ltrs.
  3. TBH, IMO, at 61k'ish and no history, £9995 (even if you can get £1k'ish or more off) does not seem a steal to me even if you get them to service it etc, WBAC is the low 7k mark, I know you like the spec, but I'm sure there are others out there worth considering. Caveat emptor 🤔
  4. Dental Floss (the wide tape type) also works well.
  5. I'd guess your local Skoda dealership, or if your lucky a scrappy if they have an Adventure edition in stock, or maybe one of the Czech web sites that seem to keep everything for Skoda cars (not surprising really given the country of origin.)
  6. Unless your on the highway to hell!!!
  7. If you want a real scare watch the crash test videos of the Dacia Duster pole test (1:31) .... bet that would really hurt compared to some better performing marques 😱
  8. They do ! 4 ratings ... Adult Occupant Child Occupant Vulnerable Road Users Safety Assist each split into GOOD, ADEQUATE, MARGINAL, WEAK and POOR with pictograms for the occupants showing the ratings and how they may impact the occupant ... leg, head, chest etc. To see the detail you need to visit the euroncap website. The total star rating is only the headline.
  9. Re the bolts, TBH, I'd just order them from your local Skoda dealer ... at least they will be the correct bolts.
  10. Have you done all the easy stuff? ... dust the rubber door seals with talc, then using a gentle hose on the door shutlines for a couple of mins spray with water. Open the door and if the door seals are the problem then where the water ingress is evendent the talc will be missing. Other areas are the windscreen (esp if its been replaced,) scuttle area, wiper spigots etc... could be a long haul I'm afraid.
  11. Not getting into any arguments of "if" and "when", but not all Yeti pano roofs leak, there is no doubt an issue at VAG they will not admit to, and a lot of peeps moaning about them (not all) have never owned a Yeti with one but keep repeating the doom and gloom. Ours has been fine (2016 L&K) but it is something you should be aware off. Check carefully for signs of a leak if viewing one.
  12. Have you checked the key fob battery ... I used to have a Golf that moaned about the key when the fob battery was low ... easy to check.
  13. Alt try a premium fuel, Shell V-Power etc ... if it reduces or goes away I'd agree with b1ackb1rd ... likely to be pre-ignition knock.
  14. TBH, Bridgestone, Goodyear and Nokian (I've used them all) do excellent all-season tyres, slightly softer sidewalls than summer tyres so they work better in cold weather. IMO you would probably be better off selling what you have from the Octy, and putting all season boots (unless you really need full winters) on the Superbs original wheels unless they are diamond cut, in which case get a big, big loan to get them refurb'd every couple of years, esp as diamond cut are eye watering to refurb IME. 🤪
  15. Hi, use this section of the site https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/, a diff or a couple of mm (=/- 10mm) will make very little difference on the rolling circumference and as a knock on little diff to the speedo reading info. Similarly a difference offset (ET) of a couple of mm will make little difference. to the spacing of the tyre in the wheel well. Your existing wheels will have all the info stamped on the wheel, usually around the hub or on the back face somewhere, so you can just type it in to the calculator. The snowflake is indeed indicating winter tyres.
  16. Check wheel-size dot com the wheel/tyre size calculator ... put the details in and it will tell you the rolling circumference/speed diff/speedo mis-read etc, etc ... make your mind up from there.
  17. Thanks, high mileage doesn't really bother me, its more how it was done and in what scenario, I have personally taken several Volvos to over 300k without issues, a motorway warrior car doesn't bother me, but a taxi /private hire does ... I've seen some awful maintained cars in that world that are ground down with no or little maintenance, knackered suspension, shot brakes engine oil like tar, but interiors looking not too bad because they smartly used seat covers etc, the are then given a mop to make the surface look good at a glance when dumped. Yup I'm long enough in the tooth to know what to look for, just trying to get a grip on what the lie of the land in the high milers (many of which seem to have originated from "taxi/cab centres."
  18. Any thing particular on your mind Awesam? I am aware of the 1.5 TSI issues that impact most of the VAG world, and unless that has been fixed under the care of the previous owner, I'd rather he give that particular engine a miss.
  19. Hi, my son-in-law is needing a bigger car to hump about all the paraphernalia of a toddler .... he is quite smitten with the Superb 2016-on, but looking in the West of Scotland area they seem to be eye wateringly expensive ... certainly via Uncle Arnold, so I'd like some helpful views on the following please ... Most of the pre owned cars seem to fall into the following two brackets for a 2018/19 registered cars ... a/ 10-30k miles and just shy of £24k retail (full main dealer service stamps) and akin to rocking horse droppings to find. b/ 70-85k miles and in the ballpark of £20k retail (patchy or fleet service stamps) and forecourts are full of them, esp the estate. My take on this is they are all over priced and the a/ cars are either privately owned and just finished their PCP deals, or low milage company leases. The b/ cars are either motorway warriors just finished their company lease or Taxi's at the end of their leases. Question, am I correct in my thinking re the b/ cars and does anyone actually know if the majority of these cars are actually used as taxi's/private hire or not ... (my guessing due to the number with poor bodywork and approx 80k miles at 3-4 years old,) and actual privately owned cars which are fairly hard to find at sensible prices, or just hard to find at all. Cheers for any input , thoughts etc guys (or lassies.)
  20. For all it costs, just go to a Skoda dealer and buy one, then you will know you have the correct one and a reference for the future ... even BMW dealers only charge £1.15 for a sump washer for my X3 ... I seriously expect it to cost only a few pounds in total, ..... Worth it to save the fuss and stress of ... "do I have the correct one or not."
  21. I had to argue with the Master Tech to get the screen cleaned when mine was last done ... when it was he actually stated that is was fairly gunked up but VAG don't recommend cleaning ... and they very rarely do it 😱
  22. Oh many a delusional owner has been caught by that .... esp with VAG unfortunately "oh yes its on the service menu/schedule, but we don't advise or prompt ... you should have asked!"
  23. We has the RGM stainless steel version (very tough) worked well, but ours was Moon White.
  24. Yeah, I believe the stubby on the roof does DAB, and GPS, I believe the AM/FM utilises the heated rear window ... but I'm sure someone will confirm.
