KESSY Start Stop Button replacement
Hi, No problem, glad the pics were of use. Sounds like the same issue as mine, progressively less responsive button and you almost have to develop a 'knack' of how to press it. I didn't want to get stuck so decided to change it. I bought my new switch from my local Skoda dealer, around £40 UKP I saw other sources online but with the change in part number I figured if they supply me the wrong part I can easily take it back. However I can confirm the button is working fine based on the part number in the photos. I had an issue just yesterday with the key fob not being recognised however it turned out to be a virtually flat battery in the fob which was easily changed....something I would maybe recommend doing annually. Best bet would be to go to a Skoda / VAG dealership and ask them to source the button for you. Hope you get sorted out....

Electric windows strange fault
Thanks for the information, did you buy the parts from a dealer ? Did it take long to change out, I assume it is a pig of a job lol....!

Newbie About to Take the Plunge
At that mileage, if Skoda are saying there is a FSH including Haldex I wouldn't be surprised if the pump is already knackered. Skoda only change the oil, their system does not recognise the filter as a service item nor do they remove the pump to clean the strainer hence it could be blocked. Mine was cooked after 4 years and 35k miles despite a Skoda FSH....! Problem is Haldex faults don't show up as a warning light and are only evident if you plug in a code reader (such as Carista, well worth 20 quid!) or if you notice front wheel spin pulling away from junctions. I would recommend checking out the 4x4 operation as soon as you get the car while you have some recourse with the dealer.

Electric windows strange fault
Glad you got it sorted. Did you buy a new loom, or repair ? If you bought new what sort of price is this. Thanks

14 plate Superb Haldex pump issue
You might get a few different codes, I had 00448 Haldex Clutch Pump but also had 01324 Control Module. The dealer checked it before I eventually got the pump replaced and suggested water ingress to the connector but in truth it was the pump on its way out.

14 plate Superb Haldex pump issue
The haldex issue with Skoda / VAG is on a par with the emissions scandal in my book...! How many 1000s of cars will be running around as 2WD when they should be 4WD.....Skoda not recognising a clearly serviceable part and filter....very poor. My pump failed after 4 years and full dealer service history. After losing trust in the dealer, I took it to an independent in November 2018 who replaced the pump, filter and oil with parts I bought from Haldex Repairs. So far no trouble but I am going to get the oil changed again very soon which will be approx. 16k and 2 years since the pump was renewed. The schedule is 30k for an oil change, I don't think I feel comfortable leaving it much longer without attention....£100 well spent. Skoda won't be touching the Haldex unit again on my car. At the same time I will think about getting the diff oil and gearbox oil changed too. I posted up about my tale of woe on here, probably find it if you search for Haldex 00448. Cheers Dave

Recommendation - don't get Dunlop SportMaxx tyres
Sounds like the dreaded saw toothing of the rear tyres. I am running higher tyre pressures on my estate and this is definitely helping rear tyre wear. Also, a proper 4 wheel alignment is highly recommended. Two years ago I discovered my rears were worn to the cords on the extreme inner edge, rest of the tyre was ok. Alignment was well off, been much better since full alignment was done and running a higher pressure. I have found the Crossclimates really good on all surfaces and weathers.

Tyre recommendations 225/40/18
Good to see so many in agreement 😃 For best (and most stable?) results I would fit 4, although perhaps your rears still have a lot of life left ?

Tyre recommendations 225/40/18
+1 for Crossclimates all round, been brilliant on my 4x4 Superb Estate, wearing well. I run at a slightly higher tyre pressure, seems to help wear on the Estates. If you can be bothered, and spare another 80 quid I would go for a 4 wheel Hunter 3D alignment soon after getting new tyres.

KESSY Start Stop Button replacement
As usual things get in the road of doing jobs on the car....I finally ordered a button the week before COVID lockdown so by the time I went to collect it the dealer had shut the door...! Anyway, got the button recently and set about swapping it over. Apparently the part number had changed so the part number is 6VO 905 217 for the button I received. Pretty simple to change as other folk have said but I thought I would post up a few pics which might help others as there are a couple of other actions to consider. Popping the top trim is simple, use trim tools if you have them, and this gives access to the two screws either side of the column for the bottom trim. You will need a T20 bit for these. I was expecting the bottom trim to drop down at this stage with the understanding there were only two screws but it turns out there is a further screw right underneath. Bit of a pain to get to but it comes away no problem. I still wrestled with the bottom trim until I popped the steering column adjustment lever down and it all dropped down. Full access now available so I very carefully released but connectors to the button and reader coil. A very narrow flatblade screwdriver helps release the connectors. Study the new button and you will see where you gently release the clips on the side of the existing button, a little jiggling around and it will slide out through the reader. New button just clips back in, refit the connectors and rebuild. The screw on the underside was tricky to get back in, my driver wasn't magnetic so I used blu-tak to hold the screw on 🙂 Anyway, worked fine and the difference is night and day when pushing the button. I have kept the old button as I believe some folk have cleaned them with contact cleaner so might give that a go to have a spare available. Hope that is of interest.... A saving of approx £80 on dealer charges....! New button highlighted red.

KESSY Start Stop Button replacement
My car was in at the local dealer for a service and they commented the Start Stop button was sticking. I had noticed it was needing a bit more of a positive push but not had any bother so far starting or stopping, got the knack of working it I guess... Is this an easy DIY replacement job ? I have been quoted £124 incl VAT for replacement, the switch is around £40 apparently (part number 3V0905217AWHS ?) I read on here that electrical contact cleaner is a good option to try, any thoughts ? Certainly don't want to be caught out for the sake of a switch...! Thanks

4 wheel alignment results - Superb Estate
Seeking some advice on toe and camber settings following a 4 wheel alignment done this morning.... After getting a full set of new tyres I booked in for a 4 wheel alignment locally. The rear passenger side tyre was badly worn on the inside so things were clearly out of adjustment, seems to be a common Superb Estate issue.... The garage was using a Hunter system and gave before and after prints as attached. Anyway, I am not convinced on the new settings and questioned these at the time, but was told 'its a 4 wheel alignment and we only ever adjust the toe, and not the camber as its not adjustable...?!' I got a second opinion elsewhere (Kwik Fit of all places....) and was advised everything should be 'green' suggesting camber is adustable. I questioned the original garage again but was pretty much told they only advertise 'alignment' and not camber.... Am I wrong to expect the camber to be part of the deal on a 4 wheel alignment ? Left Front and Rear camber appear out of tolerance, and worse than before alignment...should I be getting this re-done ....? Thanks Before After
