  1. Interestingly, the czech configurator shows the pre-FL rear lights on trim levels active and ambition.
  2. I watched the presentation, and it seems that the whole reason for the weird headlights is to differentiate the Octavia from the Rapid. So I guess we will see the four-eyes on the Octavia IV aswell... Also, Jozef Kaban did not come across as proud and happy as he did at the Kodiaq presentation.
  3. Thanks! I had the box in my MY15 octavia and I forgot to check it when ordering my pre-FL MY17. (I think they've changed it to be able to store a simply clever umbrella now?). Having ice cream loving kids in the car we always carried this in the box:
  4. I've noticed that the stock boarding lights in the mirrors are very weak, and I've found LEDs at superskoda.com. Has anyone ordered these or from another source? Thanks/RL
  5. Here is a comparison, but with chrome. The Balck color renders a bit differently in the facelift configurator:
  6. http://www.motor1.com/news/131684/2017-skoda-octavia-scout-revealed/ Best so far of the facelifts
  7. BGB - does the hood dampers interfere with the foam "walls" in the engine room?
  8. I agree, you get used to it. But facelifts usually mean that the pre-facelift model feels old. This one doesn't have that effect on me.
  9. Nice upgrades! What hood dampers did you get. Were these avaliable from the dealer? And how about the led lights? Edit: Sorry, I just read about the dampers.
  10. I've read test drive reviews in two swedish magazines and they really don't have ANYTHING negative to say, except that the driving experience is a bit less agile than the Ateca, but on the other hand the Kodiaq feels more premium than the Tiguan. Noone has mentioned anything other than 2500 kg towing capacity.
  11. The phonebox uses Qi wireless charging standard, get a case that works with Qi.
  12. I tried it and I only get it to work in Android Auto, not in normal bluetooth mode.
  13. Having recently recieved my 1.0, I'm sharing my 2 cents in all the threads. I'm not sure if it's the engine, or if the MY17 is better sound insulated than my previous MY15, but the 1.0 is very quiet. I'm running on studded winter tyres at the moment so A. They make a lot of noice and B. I'm breaking in the tyres so I haven't really hit the higher revs yet, but I can barely hear the engine. My old 1.2 used to struggle a bit when starting from a red light, there was a bit of delay before the tourque set in. There's none of that with the 1.0. I'm guessing that they have changed the gear ratios. The first gear pulls well from zero, but it gets to 3000 rpm pretty quickly (again, I can barely hear it and I drive it like my old 1.2, but there's really no need to go over 2000 before shifting). Also, at the other end, the 6th gear doesn't need as high revs as I remember from the 1.2 but if that comes down to gear ratios or just the added tourque of the engine, I don't know. I haven't done any overtaking yet with my car, but when I testdrove the 1.0 I didn't feel any lack of power on the motorway. As for reliability, I'm crossing my fingers. I mean, they have tested the engine in the Audi A3 before they put it in the Octavia, so I hope VW knows what they're doing (although recent history sure has proven otherwise!)
  14. I find this interesting. I have seen that most of the stuff that is included in the Swedish "Style" trim is extra options in the UK. I have a lot of options and packages in my new Octavia, and with the 1,4 TSI M6 (that is also avaliable for the A4) it would be about £ 24.000 If I spec an A4 with the same engine and equipment it lands at about £ 41.500. The Audi has full LED lights (included in Proline), foldable tow bar and 3-zone climate control, which you can't get in the Octavia. The Skoda on the other hand has winter tyres and half leather included in that price.
  15. Which product is this? There is one called G1 clear vision smart glass and another called G5 water repellant coating I've been using Aquapel myself, but I'm not overwhelmed.
  16. Hello everybody! My new (2nd) Octavia was delivered Nov 19, ordered on Aug 29. Octavia Style Estate 1.0 TSI M6 in Quatrtz grey. 17. So, I got my 1.0 this weekend. I haven't driven it that fast/hard yet (because of new studded tyres), but the engine is an improvement over the 1.2. Tourque is avaliable from much lower revs, and it doesn't have the same amount of turbo lag as the 1.2. It feels like less of an effort for the engine, and you can barely hear it. It's a manual, and if I follow the shift indicator, i find myself at around 1400 rpm which feels a bit slow for some situations, the engine seems more comfortable from 1800 rpm and up. When idleing there's a bit more vibration in the shifter than before, but nothing massive.
  18. Yeah, remember to check that it will hold your rim/wheel size.
  19. I also have a very cheap tree. It's just a couple of tubes stuck together, that falls apart when you unload the wheels. But when the wheight of the weels is on it, it does the job perfectly. It also came with a protective cover.
  20. What is the Rustoleum product called?
  21. I'm very curious about this as well. Here in Sweden, some dealers say that the car comes with WiFi in combination with wireless charging and Amundsen. Other dealers don't even know about the wireless charging. However, I have understood that the Amundsen doesn't hav a SIM-card slot, so the function in this setup must be to share your phones connection to make a wifi hotspot in the car. This is already avaliable in the phone, but I guess battery life will be better if it's the car that does the hotspotting. Here in Sweden, at least, it's very unclear what function you get. The configurator just says WLAN, nothing about how it actually works. I've tried configurating the Superb too, and it has even more strange and/or similar options for connectivity. I've spoken to customer service, who says that wireless charging is included in the Style trim, but the configurator (or the contract for that matter) doesn't say anything about it. Other dealers (not the one I bought from) says that WLAN is included, while the dealer I bought my future car from is unsure of the wireless charging itself. Too bad I started asking these questions after the deal was signed... My car will arrive in one or two weeks, and it will be interesting to see what is actually there. If anyone has tested the WLAN with Amundsen, please share your experience! BR/RL spelling edited.
  22. I'm currently driving the 1.2 petrol, and I wouldn't call it gutless. Sure, it is slow, but it feels less underpowered than my previous audi a6 with 2.0 170 hp, except during highway take overs where the audi had a bit more to give. I've test driven and ordered a 1,0, it feels more agile and fun. I have towed stuff and gone skiing with full car and roof box with my old 1.2, so I don't think that is going to be a problem. VW has put this engine in the Audi A3 as well as in the Seat Ateca. For 1 litres I think it's an amazing engine. Now let's just hope it's reliable...
