  1. try Navigation Menu Settings/Map/show POIs/Show brand logos for POIs. You might also want to do an online or mem card import/update of your POIs.
  2. Mine tries to. Fortunately I usually have a fair idea of the route I should be on and ignore the spurious. It will catch me out if it continues though.
  3. 1. Not being able to permanently turn off the Stop/Start. 2. Same problem with boot opening on its own. 3. No adjustable boot floor on the 5 seat SEL 4. ACC seems to occasionally do odd things like detecting the vehicle in the next outside lane of a Motorway as being in the same lane as the car and reacting accordingly. 5, No tow bar available on some models. 6, over complex menu system 7 ditto nav system. why does it lose favorite destinations after an update? It is also very slow my old garmin beats it easily. 8. Voice control instructions for infotainment only available online and these are petty poor.
  4. adaptive cruise control on the SEL has a separate stalk.
  5. Not enough to justify the outlay it would seem or they would already be doing it. Figures show a decline in car sales generally with more people buying petrol and electric than before. Yes Diesels will be around for a few years but I suspect in declining numbers as new technology comes in. Personally I would like to fill the Kodiaq at a pump but I have no problem filling it from a container. After all it is not as though I have to fill up with ad-blue every time I go for diesel. Again personally I am all for Boycotting stations that do not give good service. Agree about the rip-off prices but it does pay to shop around. Local Sainsbury's were selling off a batch recently at reduced price.
  6. Would you invest in upgrading pumps, given the current government campaign against diesel?
  7. Turning away a paying customer sounds rather stupid. The "company policy" excuse is moronic unless accompanied by a valid reason. Complain to Esso about it and name the filling station.
  8. If Skoda can provide this information to the dealer they could easily provide it to the customer via a web site, phone app or both. The order number is unique so the information presented to the customer would be as well on typing in the order number.
  9. It probably takes longer to program the build into the assembly line than it does to build. From Factory to dealer was the longest. It took about 5 days to get a ship from Emden then 24hrs at Sea to Newcastle then 5 days to Dunfermline. Took the dealer several days to prep, most of it just fitting into a busy schedule, rather than actually doing the work. At the time there were three Ro-Ro ships on the Emden Newcastle route. The first two must have already been booked because it was on the third.
  10. I hope Fin69 is not driving while trying to contact the driver or they would be just as bad a driver as the person they are trying to contact. Even hands free has proven to be a distraction while driving. (Recent research). If the offending driver is on the phone you would get busy tone back or a voice message.
  11. Shop at Waitrose, their car parks allow 2hrs or are free. Parked recently at Abingdon and their municipal car park also allowed two hours free. Big car parking companies are only in it for the money and all anomalies should be disputed.
  12. Friends with parking assist say it works but its scary.
  13. Visual evidence is very useful. Police will often issue a caution for such cases rather than prosecute. However persistent offenders should be prosecuted.
  14. It's funny but since buying my Kodiak, parking spaces seem to have got smaller. The reversing camera is a great help.
  15. I agree with moderator. The adaptive cruise control is essential on Britain's motorways. I also think the reversing camera is a must have. After spending several hours with an Android phone and Skoda connect I still have problems getting it to work. Not all Skoda's fault because the phone is just as awkward to set up. The manuals are not that helpful.
  16. Ad blue is Urea and Ionised water. The important thing is to ensure that it meets the ISO 22241-1 standard.
  17. Yeti no more. You can buy one used or from stock but you cannot order one.
  18. bigboss, how much compensation were you offered? After all they accepted your order. Not sure about the law but it may have been broken in respect of the description of product. I had a similar experience, but pre-order when my selected colour was rejected by the order system.
  19. When Kodiaq was launched there were red versions and red is shown in brochures and web presentations but Red is not available in the UK for the Kodiaq. Read into that what you will. I still maintain that the person choosing the colours for the range is either sight impaired or completely out of touch with the buying public.
  20. Looks as though the LED drivers display will only be available on the top of the range anyway.
  21. Biggest selling market sector is SUVs. They just have to make sure that the Sport bit is real. Skoda were late to this market but may yet prevail if they get it right. In 2040 when cars have to be electric, (including hydrogen), this represents a threat for any car company that cannot deliver the technology. Digital electric motors have the potential to deliver low speed grunt, better acceleration and high speeds. Of course there will be the usual trade offs, you don't get energy for nothing. Pulling power from a battery means it needs recharging sooner and may shorten its life. So not much different from petrol/diesel except that currently batteries have a shorter life and currently electric traction is expensive relatively speaking. Hopefully advances in technology will cure the problems. They have until 2040.
  22. Theres still time. Mot sure what this has to do with threats to Skoda!
  23. Even old people were young and stupid once. There is nothing wrong with love of speed, just keep it off public roads. Just seeing one young speeder injure another innocent road user was enough.
