  1. No, afraid not. I had a Golf TDI 170 as well, at the time, so I was pretty sure they'd fit. I bought a set c/w with calipers from a breaker, then had them blasted and powder coated. I got them from Wigan VAG Parts who I purchased an Audi door from previously. Owned by a guy called Danny Hill who's always been very helpful and great to deal with. https://www.facebook.com/vagpartswigan
  2. That's what it says in my profile, so it must be, ehh....? 😄
  3. I see a mountain being made from a molehill. I found this to be very straightforward. I purchased a set of Mk5 Golf GTI / GT Sport 170 TDI caliper carriers and a set of 312mm discs and some new pads. Initially I fitted EBC Spotties and Greenstuff pads. Unfortunately, they only lasted 12k miles, no doubt because I'm the last of the late brakers and probably because I've set XDS to 'Hard". The car now has drilled Brembo discs and their HP pads on the front. I've just fitted Pagid discs and pads on the rear and that has also helped with pedal feel and stopping power.
  4. I've found the drilled Brembos that I've fitted to the front of both our Karoq and Yeti appear to be holding up better than the OEM parts, so far. Stopping with Brembo HP pads is better as well. Yes, we were quoted £350, last week by the local Škoda dealership to replace the rears, The local VAG indy, Star Performance is going to fit Pagid for £245 which is only £35 more than I paid for the Pagid rear discs and pads for the Yeti from Euro Car Parts.
  5. I see a handbrake cable which answers my question about how you managed it with a rewind kit rather than VCDS or a code reader. Which discs and pads did you fit? VAG kit really is made from cheese. I'm just about to have the rears on our Karoq replaced at coming up to 4 years and 30k miles. Having said that, the EBC ones I fitted to the rear of my Yeti were only good for about 18k. I fitted Pagid discs and pads to the rear of that and have a set of those going onto the Karoq as well.
  6. Are there headlamps named after the capital city of the Silesian Voivodeship? 🤔 Anyway, our 2019, 190 TDI SE L certainly has LED headlamps and LED cornering / fog lamps.
  7. Škoda and in fact all modern VAG discs are made from cheese. A particularly quick trip up and down the A7 put paid to the front ones on our 190 TDI at c. 24K miles and the rear have now had it at 30K. I had drilled Brembos with Brembo HP pads fitted to the front and 6.5K miles later I'm still happy with those. I've booked the car into my local VAG indy to have Pagid discs and pads fitted to the rear. I have the same Brembos fitted to the front of my Yeti and I was recently experiencing a bit of vibration. Hoping it wasn't coming from the front, I had Pagid discs and pads fitted to the rear. The rears were pretty shot anyway. It cured the problem and made a surprising difference to the retardation.

The wheels will probably be fine. I had these Audi Q3 alloys on two previous Mk1 Tiguans and now they see winter service on the Karoq fitted with Dunlop D5 Winter Sport.
  9. I'm reminded of this day in Death Valley in 2019. It was in the 40's deg C in Stovepipe Wells when I took pics of what I'm pretty sure was an Enyaq testing at the upper end of the hot climate range. If Škoda and many other manufacturers are capable of producing vehicles which cope in those kinds of temperatures, then there should be enough headroom to function in the high teens and twenties with some level of obstruction on the grills.

    Does this help...? https://www.lanoguard.co.uk/pages/application-centres
  11. The oil and water temperature readings are always within acceptable limits here in sunny Scotland. It also keeps lots of road filth out of the engine compartment and adds an extra 7.632 mph to the top speed.... 😉
  12. Thank you, Sir. Yes, it's a Heko one, as are the wind deflectors. I fitted the grill cover to do the same thing as you, i.e. get the oil temperature up more quickly. However, in my case, it's so that I can give it the beans sooner into a run, rather than for economy reasons.
  13. Likewise....👍
  14. I've never had any issues with this at MOT time.
  15. No. I see a red x. Don't you...?
  16. Yes, I don't know how reliable it is across all the year models but certainly, at one point 4x4 denoted a 170 TDI.
  17. 110, 140 and 170 PS in the pre-facelift and early facelift cars. The later facelift Euro 6 cars were 110 and 150 PS.
  18. Likewise. One of life's good guys, it would appear...👍
  19. I fitted B4's all round to my 2008 Mk5 Golf GT Sport 170 TDI. They made a big difference to the ride and handling without making the car significantly stiffer. I'd fit them to the front and see if that gives you the feeling you want and if not, consider fitting them to the rear as well.
  20. Yes, they're enabled as cornering lights and there must be a clause in the Type Approval that allows for that function.
  21. They don't come on with what you refer to as "high beam" because as the Highway Code indicates... Rule 236 You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves. In which case, you wouldn't want to use them with high beam.
  22. And no tyre size, load or speed rating either....tsk, tsk, tsk.
  23. I think you're referring to the cornering light function of the fog lamps. Also, they come on when you select reverse gear. However, they shouldn't come on with main beam.
  24. 0.4 secs seems to be the difference for our 190 TDI Karoq. Škoda claim 0-100 kph in 7.4 secs and seen it timed at 0-60 mph in 7.0 secs.
  25. I've had c. 18 months of poor health; nothing that has proven to be critical or terminal so far but seriously debilitating. The weekend before last, I finally felt up attempting a short ride after almost 2 years off the bikes. Both my GS and X-Country have been fettled by a local BMW specialist and taken for MOT tests by my son, during this hiatus on my part. I decided to ease myself back into it by taking the X-Country out on some local backroads. I got all of 7 miles away from home when the red temperature warning light came on and the bike dumped all its coolant over my left leg and boot. A spring steel hose clip had failed and the hose between the radiator and engine had become detached. I was glad I'd worn my leather breeks and my Sidi Adventure boots when I could so easily have been out in motorcycle jeans and short boots. I was on my way to visit a friend whose birthday it was with a bottle of wine for him in my tank bag. I phoned him and he came out to rescue me in his old Saab 9000. He took me home, we picked up the Yeti and bike trailer and recovered the bike which has been sitting in the garage unloved ever since.
