  1. Yes, it was Marshalls in Bedford. For a cam chain and tensioner they were within £80 of the good specialists and while I still trust their abilities to do the work, it was the fact that the work and parts were both covered for 2 years that swung it for me as the car was high mileage. Its a bit different if you have family connections if things go wrong !
  2. Who are you thinking of using in MK ? We've just moved away, but I used Unit 18 and VagTech on multiple cars. The only thing I didn't use them for was the cam chain on our previous 1.2 Yeti as Skoda in Bedford were competitive and Gave 2 years come back on the work.
  3. Hi There are about 15 for sale on Autotrader at the moment ranging between £5k and £13k. Just tweak the search to fuel type = petrol and engine size = 1.8 min to 1.8 max to save scrolling through irrelevant ones. Make sure you find one with a very full history as the previous poster is spot on. I remember driving a launch model 1.8Tsi back in 2009 (?) and severely irritating a new SLK200 owner who couldn't keep up around the roundabouts and dual carriageways of Milton Keynes. A lot of fun and I'm sure a remap on a sound engine would be funnier.
  4. Yes, read that thread but nothing much else in the last 5 years. Will make do without - the sill 'ends' protrude too far to allow the standard ones to fit. Thanks
  5. I was really hoping I would have some ideas by now rather than questions but its the bodykit's side sills that stop you fitting them. Anyone with an answer or Heath Robinson fix ?
  6. Yes I agree, and had them on previous Yetis, but they don't fit the Black Edition...
  7. We've had 7 Yetis so need to search for that. Our last Rosso Brunello had two doors resprayed. Anyway, Mudflaps anyone ?
  8. Did anyone ever get some that fit the Black Edition ? Just picked up another Yeti and as usual its got a couple of stone chips / early rust bubbles on the doors because it doesn't have front flaps / splashguards. Did a search on here but didn't find any solutions.
  9. We once did an *indicated* 128mph, 4 up and full of ski gear in our 170ps TDi, but the total lack of aerodynamics would mean it would have needed about 300bhp to make 150mph.
  10. Great stuff. My other half reminded me that she had the original Goodyear Vectors on her Toyota Corolla 4wd estate (remember those back in 1990!?) and she ruled the outside lane of a snow-covered M20 one Friday evening on the way to the ferry for a ski trip.
  11. To calm us all down, I have ordered 4 x Goodyear Vector All Season
  12. Er... this is our 102nd car - just looking for specific Yeti 4x4 advice? We had a 350 SLK which had winters on the back and all seasons on the front because Michelin didn't make winters to fit the narrower front wheel size. Mercedes actually recommended that combination to us ?
  13. We've just got another Yeti (our 7th including company-run ones !) We have always had 4 matching tyres on our cars, but this one has come with a different pair front and back. The fronts are cheap but ok (have had on other cars) Westlakes with 6mm tread but the rear cheapos need replacing. My question:- If I move the Westlakes to the back and buy some All Season Goodyears or Michelins for the front is that a problem? Or should I fit two more cheap Westlakes ? I can't afford £4 x £120 fitted as the cambelt needs doing.
  14. I've recently bought a 2011 Yeti SE with Bolero and would like to upgrade to a secondhand Amundsen / RNS315. What do I need to make it look and work just like it was fitted at the factory ? - GPS antenna - which one ? - Bluetooth mic - which one ? - Do I need a fascia surround - which one? - Anything else that is different depending on the version of RNS315 I get ? - Anything to set up to the car? Thanks !
