Potential rust spot, be warned
Was cleaning the car earlier and noticed a build up of crud on rear inside wheel arches, around the edge of the wheel arch. Anyone whos owned an 90's BMW will be familiar with rust rot around the wheel arch edges, caused by the same type of build up. Given how thin the sheet metal is on these cars I'd say it's a case of not if, but when. I'll be powerhousing in there and making sure to clear it all out.

Headlamp Condensation
As above, common issue and nothing to be concerned about. When you see fish in there start to worry.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Another Wicklow resident here, if you like the outdoors it is a magical place.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
New tyres today for the front. Runway Enduro hp from Camskill. I had never heard of them but they came on the car a couple of years ago and have proved to be a very good budget tyre. The best thing about them is very low noise at 67db. Given the tyre fitter had his grubby mitts on them gave the car a good clean and sealant wax.

Broken tail light
D is the earlier unit, yours is the E, the later unit that has those floating silver rectangular reflectors inside the lamp. €70 from Superskoda.

Rusty hubs painted at last
So these were driving me crazy, barely a year on them and rusted pretty bad (Pagid). Wheel off. Sand with wire brush and drill, very quick and effective. Paint on anti rust, dry for 15 mins. Spray. Clean and de-tar inside wheel. Copper grease hub. Refit wheel. Beer!

Alloy wheel colour
Is it just me or do anthracite wheels just look like they're covered in brake dust? Much prefer clean silver.

Gearknob
We had the same issue on the DSG lever, it is a known issue and it was replaced under warranty. Took a bit of convincing though!

Gearbox error message
Fingers crossed that 'cheap' repair applies to the Superb. We have this sporadic issue and are just ignoring it, so far it has not effected the car in any way negatively.

Window trim
Forget part numbers, get Skoda to sort it out, it is such a well known problem they would be fools to fight you, even out of warranty.

Newbie - switching from Ford to Skoda
The Mondeo is a very resolved package. I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on how they compare.

Rear discs and pads
Have fitted both Pagid and Brembo from ECP and both have shown signs of surface rust so would avoid those if that is an issue.

Quiet tyres
I swapped out the noisy p7's on my wife's car (front). For Debica Presta UHP, they are much quieter but are almost shot after two years, worn and perishing, where's as the p7's (rear) that can with the car are only 50% worn after 4 years.

Exterior sound proofing wheel arch
B pillar is a big one for the gains, and very easy to do. Don't worry about the airbag at all. Prise out the 'Airbag' plastic clip, remove the screw. Then just pull out from the bottom edge of the top trim. It will unclip, then the top of the trim then will slide down and out. Then unclip bottom trim. From there add your deadening, paying particular attention to fill the cavity down at the bottom of the B pillar and the cill. This really is probably the easiest and most beneficial upgrade.

Exterior sound proofing wheel arch
Have you removed the rear wheel arch liners and added silent coat and closed cell to those areas?

Sticky door handle
Drivers side handle has started needing a bit of a yank to release, the handle pull has gone a bit stiff, a pity as all the others have that nice gentle pull to open. Anyone had this? Going to spray some GT85 in there see it it helps. There is a small black plastic cover on the inside of the door, the one that rotates a bit, any idea how to remove this to spray some lube in there?

Car mats upgrade
If I missed one thing about the previous 5 series it was the car mats, lovely, deep cut pile units. The Skoda Matt's are very average. So ordered a premier set from carmats UK, hoping they would be better, being a bit skeptical about fit. Online reviews were good so rolled the dice. Well I am delighted with them, deeper cut pile, very substantial, and the fit and cut is 100%, press down fittings are perfect too. At €40 with free delivery they are far better, and cheaper than Skoda mats. Also no Superb name which j always thought was a bit tacky. Would highly recommend.

Creaky armrest - removal?
I know this is a common one so hoping someone can advise as to the procedure for removing the top leather portion to address the creaks inside?

How remove door card?
Anyone know how to do this? I can see the plastic screw at the bottom of the door that needs to be turned 90 degrees. I removed the window switch expecting to see some screw in there but there is nothing visible. I also can't see any access around the door handle that might reveal a screw. Totally stumped.

Wheel arch noise insulation
My car is very quiet, but it can always be quieter! So just finished one of the rear wheel arches with one layer of silent coat, then another layer of 5mm closed cell foam. This is an easy job really: Wheel off Remove various torx bolts, some are a bit more awkward than others but they all come out easily. Clean with alcohol then set about the insulation. I stayed away from the dirty area of bodywork around the shock that the liner leaves exposed as I didn't want crud building up on the insulation. Also added some to the liner itself. While it was all exposed I applied some rust treatment (blue coating in pic) to the dust shield and various corroding bolts. Liner on and job done. About 1.5 hours not rushing things. Will do the other side when time permits.
