  1. Pratts driving like that at those speeds deserve the book thrown at them and at least a 2 year ban.Sorry, but if any of my family were killed by a to$$er driving at those speeds, I'd personally hound them for the rest of their petty little lives.
  2. ŠkodaAuto News Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PR/REL2008/SKPR/043 9 October 2008 SUPERB GREENLINE GOES ON SALE Škoda is releasing the New Superb GreenLine on Monday 13th October bringing more choice to the range of low CO2 emitting vehicles in the UK. Priced at £16,710 OTR, the New Superb Greenline is a flexible and spacious car which offers fantastic value for money. The 1.9 TDI PD engine, fitted with a diesel particulate filter, returns 105bhp and comes with a five speed manual gearbox. The Superb Greenline emits a mere 136 g/km of CO2 and has an outstanding combined fuel consumption of 55.4 mpg. Škoda engineers have achieved this remarkable feat by developing a number of solutions. These include reducing the weight of the car, making the gearing longer and re-mapping the engine for greater efficiency. This, together with improved aerodynamics and low resistance tyres, adds up to a more environmentally conscious vehicle. The Superb Greenline is a separate trim level and sits between the entry level S and the mid-range SE. Equipment above the S model includes sunset glass, cruise control, four spoke leather steering wheel, lowered suspension, small rear boot spoiler and tyre repair kit. Chris Horrell, Product Marketing Manager at Škoda, comments: “The latest addition to our GreenLine range will be well received by customers seeking a more environmentally conscious vehicle in the upper medium sector. “With growing interest in greener cars we expect the Superb Greenline to attract retail and business customers seeking a vehicle which represents great value for money but does not compromise on quality.” Please contact a Škoda retailer or visit www.skoda.co.uk to book a test drive or to find out more about the New Superb Greenline. -Ends- Editors' Notes Škoda is the Manufacturer of Happy Drivers: * New Octavia is the 2008 Auto Express Driver Power survey 'Car of the Year' * Manufacturer of the Year in the 2008 Top Gear Owner Satisfaction Survey Škoda is an environmentally-friendly manufacturer: * Roomster 1.4TDI (135g/km) lowest emitting MPV in UK (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) * Average CO2 emissions of 152g/km make Škoda one of today's greenest carmakers (Business Car)
  3. Hello & Welcome.Would that be Robinsons Skoda?
  4. If I ever met the stupid cow she could have a polythene bag over her head, unvented, preferably with a Skoda Auto logo on it to rub salt in the wounds, and a very tight elastic band holding it round her neck.
  5. There have been a couple of white 1.9SDi Classics on ebay recently with vRS wheels, bumpers, badges and spoilers fitted. Will just be a copy - and if it is an SDi, it will be all show and definitely no go!
  6. This weeks Auto Express has tested the New Superb SE 2.0TDi 140 against the Mondeo Titanium X, Audi A4 2.0 TDi SE and a 2 year old BMW 520d..............And the Superb beat the lot:D. Verdict against the Mondeo: As a family car, the Superb makes a lot of sense. With its vast boot and unsurpassed rear legroom, it's very practical. Not only is the Skoda cheaper than the Mondeo it has stronger residual prices, too, making it an excellent buy. Verdict against the Audi A4: The Superb has all the credentials to make it a good executive choice.Cabin quality is impressive, while refinement and performance are excellent.Company car tax is cheaper than the A4's aswell. Verdict against the BMW 520d: In a close-run contest, the Skoda edges out its used premium-brand rival - the Superb drives well, is better equipped and has more space. As the new buy, the Skoda has a full 3 year warranty, too. The Superb is heaped with praise, and they even go as far as to say that against the A4, the Superb has more power and kit with similar refinement and quality, making it a more sensible, if less image-conscious, option.
  7. The 1.4 TSi in the New Superb is good for 125MPH - imagine that engine in a small car like a Fabia.
  8. If ever I'm tail-gated, I just turn on the taillights and watch their front ends dip sharply and them get a lot smaller in my rear view mirror very quickly as they think I'm braking!
  9. My local petrol station has a saucer on the counter with pennies in so if you go over the magic double-zeros you take a penny off the saucer and hand it over to them.
  10. Yes, the figures are correct. The 16v kicks out 100BHP.
  11. Love the spelling and grammar on this site, always cheers me up:D
  12. As already stated by others, because Ford got all stroppy over the use of the RS moniker, Skoda UK marketed it as the vRS, the v being that thing on top of the S in Skoda. Some dealers advertise them as 1.8T vRS or 1.8T RS, either way they are one and the same.
  13. I'd definitely go for a Panda over a Ka anyday - I wouldnt buy a new car that was basically a 12 year old design. Also, what about a Proton Savvy? Proton sales are very poor at the moment and I'm sure dealers would give you a great deal on a new one.I know Protons have an image problem and aren't the last word in refinement, but for what you need the car for I'm sure it'd be fine.Or a Chevrolet Matiz or Kia Picanto.

  15. Try cars dismantled by skospares.com for all your skospares, they are Specialist Skoda breakers and do mail order too.
  16. I fitted a an over-ride switch to mine and if ever in traffic and the needle pointed above dead upright, I'd switch the fan on.Never ever overheated. Get a Rapid, a Group A Exhaust, angle grind a coil off the front springs and go out and eat some Mini's for breakfast! There was a 1.3i Rover Mini Cooper I regularly used to blast in my old Rapid on my way to work - no matter how hard the bloke tried, he couldn't keep up! For smiles per mile it's a Rapid all the way.:DFor comfort and modernity, it's Fabia.
  17. Used to use the Dartford crossing at least once a week when I used to drive to Adinkerque in Belgium and back and used to laugh at the toll booths as everyone floored it away to get into one of the 4 lanes! Had a 200BHP Rover 620Ti at the time, bags of fun edging Beemers out of the way! Putting the price up like that is naughty though - still, I'd be 50p better off as it was always after 10.00pm when I returned!
  18. Personally, I think it looks bland and a step down market from the Fabia.I'd also hate to think about the depreciation - Hyundais are notoriously bad for holding their value.:thumbdwn:
  19. Anything with a BMW badge on it, anything Japanese, any 4X4 oversized barge.
  20. As I am no longer a drinker, these are the beers I liked most and where I enjoyed them the most:) San Miguel - loved it, great served ice cold in Spain or Andorra. Tasteless from a can from UK supermarkets though. Stella Artois - Any Cross-channel ferry. ESP 5.2% or 9.2%- only get it from Eastenders in Calais, best drank when a passenger in a car on return journey from France:D (The reason I used to do all the driving to France!) It actually stands for Extra Sex Please:eek: Ansells Bitter - local social club.Cheap and really creamy:thumbup: Any french beer from a bottle, Sullingtons 6.2%, St Omer, Koenigsbier etc - at home relaxing.
  21. If you are considering removing the rear drums on an earlier estelle, for God's sake get a really heavy duty hub puller - you are going to need it!
  22. Try CPMS - 01733 324251 and ask for Chris, he's a New & Used Skoda spares specialist and does mail order.
  23. Shop elsewhere - those prices, apart from Labour costs, are way OTT!
  24. There are 3 more on Auto Trader more expensive - 2 of them are at dealers for £11,995 - Well overpriced!! A realistic price for one now is £9,500 - £10,000. Most are around 18 months old and depreciation is an unforgiving fact of life.
  25. Hi and welcome, but lets hope your sales pitch and aftersales service is better than your spelling and the 'fingers'!
