VCDS options on Superb III
Which interface do you use? It may come from your hardware, e.g.: VCDS MIcro CAN cannot access to all control modules.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
@RomanB Once the Sport information menu is activated, do you get the all the gages from the Off road mode in the same menu? Simple assumption, since your picture shows the coolant temp, which is available from Off road mode (which can be activated with VCDS). Do I understand correcly?

@tricky1138 Better take a picture, than regret not having taken it... Once it's missed, it's too late...

Intermittent Start up error
I know it's hard get questions when you expect answers, but... Do you have a VCDS default codes log? It would be a good starting point to define in which direction to search. Otherwise, did you open the bonnet to check if a rodent could have make damage to the wiring? This could also lead to such a mess... I faced that last winter on my wife's Audi Q3 (9 wires damaged -> 25 cuts -> 3 functions out of order )

Good brand of rims that are reliable and not very expensive for the Superb ??
May be you can try ideal-reifen.com. They propose 2nd hand OEM rims from most german car brands. You can chose rims either "as they are" or "fully repainted". I've chosen the 2nd solution, when I bought a set of alloy rims to have a winter pack for my wife's Audi Q3. Very interesting solution at an affordable price.

UK Rear fog light convert to EU use
Well, I'm pretty sure, I've read it either here: or here: Sorry, if I don't read the ~140 pages again to find precisely where... As far as I remember severals RHD owners have made the mod successfully. I tried to do it my LHD, but I failed (though inverted left and right functions). It seems the right rear fog light is specific on RHD. For sure, I've found the mod in the Superb III, I too rarely read the Octy threads. I can't have found this mod there. BUT... I don't know if this mod has been copied-pasted in the Superb forum from an Octy thread. That's a possibility... Note: I've tried this mod' on my father's Octy 3, but it didn't work either... May be still a story of RHD/LHD... Another solution is to hardwire the 2nd rear fog light. A Superb3 owner from eastern Europe had posted a video, but there are few information about the wire to plug on from the working rear fog light.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
I've posted to fast and found you other post few minutes later... Seems way to far for computer skills. Seems too risky for me compared to simply (un)tick a box with VCDS. Too bad for me.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
@RomanB Hi, How did you activate this Sport Info menu on your L&K? I didn't succeed to do it on my MY2017. I would be happy, if you were OK to share. thanks.

Three child seats
@100andthirty Note: None of the 3 seats is Isofix. The baby seat in the middle slightly pushes the others outwards. If you have 2 isofix seats for left and right, I fear you may miss few inches to install the 3rd one in the middle.

Tyre rotation in 4x4 MKIII
Sorry, if I don't understand all the subtleties of the English language. I missed the Texas story... As I said: probably not perfect, but better than very subjective comments on any forum. I even don't fully trust official tests from TCS (Swiss Touring Club), ADAC or whatever French official organization. I find curious that Continental tyres often come at the best places in ADAC tests, whereas Michelin are regularly ahead according to French organization...

@100andthirty Sorry for the response time. Here are 2 pics: Hope this helps.

Tyre rotation in 4x4 MKIII
Sorry, but the tyres I've bought in France over the last 15 years all had this UTQG marking... even if they don't have to... I don't drive in Texas for sure, but an important thing is that, it is at least objective and therefore more reliable than any subjective comment. It's only a tip... you don't have to follow it...

Tyre rotation in 4x4 MKIII
@querolson To help you choosing your tyres and balancing the first impression of price. Take a look at the "Treadwear" indicator on the oustide tyre wall. This comes form UTQG norms. It defines how long a tyre will last for the same car and same driver. The reference value is 100. Then, if the value is 300 on tyre A and 150 on tyre B, this means that tyre A will last twice longer than tyre B. As a consequence, if tyre A is 120 € and tyre B is 100 €, make the right choice! Tyre A is a better investment!

Electronic Parking Brake
I think, I have a tip for all of you guys, who don't like the AutoHold making the restart not smooth, upon brake release: You can modify the setting with VCDS, to get rid of this nerving sensation that brake pads are stuck. It definitely makes the car smoother. Just have a look here : This way, you can enjoy the advantages of AutoHold function, without its drawbacks.

Intermittent Start up error
Hi, @ABMonro66 Could you tell us what the error messages upon cold starts are? I wouldn’t bet on glowplugs. Ok they could explain difficult cold start, but I don’t see the reason why the engine would have high idles once started. To explore the glowplugs hypothesis further: Upon cold start conditions, set contact on and off 3-4 times without starting the engine. Then start the engine. If it cranks direct at idle as for hot start, then your glowplugs need to be changed. 😉

Tyre rotation in 4x4 MKIII
Hi, I don't know the rules in finland and Germany, but here in France, it's forbidden to have different tyres on the same axle... In your case, I would the get rid of the 2 front weels (Hankook + Pirelli), move 2 rear Pirelli onto front axle, and buy 2 new tyres for the rear axle. 2 Michelin PS4 most probably...

Of course... So obvious ! 😉 But ´cutting’ half the power is a hard decision! I would be able to do the same on my daily car, only if had a nice toy for the weekends, to keep some fun/pleasure at driving. A Dodge Charger ´69 is one my dreams. Hope it can become true one of these days...

Expansion bottle replacement
@bigade1 You may be right for the M version being the latest version. However the « mit Silikat » mention had already disappeared on the T version, which seems to me the most important. 😉.

Three child seats
Do you mean something like these? https://www.multimac.com/home Otherwise, I personally have 1 Recaro Young Sport on the centre seat + 2 Recaro Milano on the side seats. It passes pretty well in my Mk3 Estate.

@shyVRS245 What do you mean by 'loaded diesel'? Is your new vessel equiped with new TDI200 or did you chose the TDI150 to really slow you down ? However, I understand your decision... an Asian proverb says: the wise man is the one who knows his limits ...
