  1. Thanks for finding this about the 1.5 Arkaig. Back at the end of October Skoda Customer Services UK had infomed me that the petrol 4X4 (1.5 TSI DSG) would become available in SE L, Scout and Sportline specs around the end of November. However that motor/gearbox combination is not yet showing on the ADAC website (which was last updated on 12/11/18, admittedly). Also my dealer has now said that they will not become available (prices/confirmed specs) until week 3 of 2019. Time will tell. Doing some sums based on German prices, the UK premium for 4X4 as against FWD, on a 1.5TSI SE L might be around £1575. But Skoda UK might decide something completely different!
  2. In the July pricing and specification list (UK version) LED interior light package (which AFAIK provides ambient and footwell lighting) was not standard on SEL but an extra, for £350 inc VAT. See attached. Perhaps you were looking at something else? karoq_pricing_specs July 2018.pdf
  3. New Nov 13th 2018 price list and specifications now on Skoda UK web site http://www.skoda.co.uk/SiteCollectionDocuments/downloads/brochures/karoq_pricing_specs.pdf?_ga=2.161871935.225489919.1542139884-2135154981.1518996425 Base specs for each model have not changed but prices increased by up to 2%. No new models (eg no petrol Scouts or Sportlines yet). A limited number of options have increased very slightly, but Candy White is now the same price as Meteor Grey, Amundsen option on SE has increased by 49%! Spelling error of Crewe (sic) protect assist remains!
  4. I have been told by Skoda Customer Services that sunroof option will become available on SE L around the end of November, but only with 4X4, and at that time petrol 4X4 (1.5 TSI) will also become available in SE L, Scout and Sportline specs. I didn't ask about SE or SE Nav availability as I'm not interested in either spec level. Prices (and on-line configurator) will go live at the same time vehicles are available to order.
  5. You don't say whether you are taking the car on finance. If you are I wouldn't be too worried as the agreement will be regulated by the UK Consumer Credit Act (you appear to be in the UK) which will provide you with protection. But make sure you receive a clear receipt for monies paid over. However, should you be a rare beast and are paying the full whack there and then, you need to be more cautious. I don't know what the total cost of the purchase is, but if it is not more than £30K, I strongly suggest you consider paying for some of it using your credit card. The sum doesn't have to be large (£100 or over is a a sensible figure to choose) but paying by CC provides protection under section 75 of the UK Consumer Credit Act and the credit card company (CC) then has equal liability for any problems with the car. The CC company would also be liable if you had paid the balance early by debit card and the dealer went bust and took your money and didn't provide the car. To repeat myself, this liability is for all the value of the purchase, not just the amount paid by credit card. More information at https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/section-75-of-the-consumer-credit-act or https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/getting-your-money-back-if-you-paid-by-card-or-paypal/
  6. I'm guessing they're the chrome/aluminium rubbing strips along the bottom of the doors.
  7. Orion BG Take a look at http://www.skoda.co.uk/SiteCollectionDocuments/downloads/brochures/karoq_pricing_specs.pdf. Other information available via Skoda-storyboard.com site. Skoda UK appear to have applied one or two tweaks to the European specification (eg only varioflex seats and 19" wheels) on the Scout. Haven't seen any confirmed prices yet, not even on Skoda.cz web site.
  8. Lots more information at https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-kits/skoda-at-the-2018-paris-motor-show/skoda-karoq-sportline-the-new-sporty-suv/ Haven't yet seen details of whether the UK spec will differ, and no prices either. Personally I'm interested in the Scout version, but again. no confirmed prices on Skoda UK site, nor confirmed UK specs.
  9. See https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/paris-motor-show-2018-two-skoda-presentations-live-online/ I believe cars can be specially ordered through your UK dealer - may be configurable on-line as from 2nd Oct but not certain on this point. Not certain, either, when UK pricing will be released. More should become clear next week.
  10. I you haven't already done so it would be worth checking the vehicle data information which should include the paint code. These used to be placed in the boot, on the metal to the left of the spare wheel well, but don't know if they still stick them there on the Karoq. Candy white code 9P9P, Moon White S9R/2Y2Y
  11. http://www.skoda.co.uk/news/fully-equipped-for-off-road-driving-the-skoda-karoq-scout/ talks about a petrol (1.5) 4x4 and at this stage one can only assume such a version will be offered in the UK. We know the Scout will be launched at the Paris Motor Show next month but what we don't know is when Skoda UK will release pricing details (including which models they will be offering). Personally, I suspect it wil be the full rage as detailed in the media release.

Sept 2018 brochure now up on the Skoda UK web site. Includes some (limited) details about the Scout and Sportline models.

The biggest bargain in the new price list must surely be: Although it is not clear if it is the whole town of Crewe protected, or just one individual living in Crewe. I wonder if this typo crept in due to Bentley (owned by VW) having their headquarters in the town? Don't you just love the quality of Skoda's proof reading!

New price list just available on Skoda UK web site. http://www.skoda.co.uk/SiteCollectionDocuments/downloads/brochures/karoq_pricing_specs.pdf Haven't looked at the details yet......
  15. You've negotiated very well Goldtw74! On the Skoda UK web site I see they say the offer also includes the first two services but orders must be placed 1/10/18 - and the offer can be withdrawn at any time. 6.8% APR, which isn't exactly cheap if you don't pay it off immediately. I do wish Skoda UK would publish the spec/prices for 2019 models. My dealer is saying they are still in the dark about exactly what the base specs will be and the cost of base spec plus the options.
  16. Valid question and some correct answers regarding vehicles already built, but until Skoda release specs for MY2019 Karoqs the answer has to be (for a new factory build) "don't know". And MY2019 is what Skoda is/will be producing once production commences after summer shut-down, which I was told ended 6th Aug. Seems as if Skoda UK are keeping their dealers (and the buying public!) in the dark at the moment and it is always possible that they will remove the paddles as standard fit on DSG models and put them into the options list (ie at additional cost). Although, speaking with my dealer he doesn't expect there to be much shift in spec from MY2018 models. There is already information on this forum regarding known changes for MY2019 and nothing mentioned about changes to paddle shifts. olly_shaw: What do you mean about an option to have larger paddles? Is that a standard Skoda option - I haven't seen anything?

I had read somewhere on this forum that a dealer meeting was scheduled for 24th July at Milton Keynes and also that orders for MY2019 properly opened week 31 (ie this week). I have therefore been surprised that no information on prices and specs has been put out via this forum and nothing has yet changed on the Skoda UK web site. I therefore contacted the Skoda UK live chat to be told they are awaiting the information to be updated by the factory (!) and they do not have a confirmed date when the new information will be available. When pressed I was told the factory returns after shutdown on 6th August so it will probably be after then. The reference to the factory seems strange as their Marketing Dept is obviously functioning, having seen media releases for the Karoq Scout and Sportline models and I can't imagine the chap who bolts the wheels on spends his spare moments updating the web site! Possibly the online chat person was just making up an answer rather than finding out the true situation. Limited info regarding the Scout and Sportline specs in the media releases, though, unfortunately. My local dealer didn't attend the Milton Keynes meeting so was waiting for info themselves when I last checked (5 days ago).

Thanks Ted, very interesting document. I see they say (in relation to the Karoq) Progressive dynamic steering becomes available on SE L, Edition, Scout and SportLine. That implies some new spec options (and continuation of Edition) but it could also be a mistake judging by the accuracy of past Skoda information. All will (possibly) be revealed at the end of the month. Cappuccino beige definitely no longer
  19. Seems a bit daft to me that they've bothered to put out a new price list now when 2019 spec is (allegedly) coming out at the end of this month. Also, since some order books are closed (ie no factory specc'd petrols and no Editions), yet they are still shown - although I guess the new prices apply to any stock models in the system. A quick check seems to indicate a price increase of around 1.8% on standard spec models, but generally no price change to extras. Although it seems a sunroof is only available as an extra on 4X4 models, and the Columbus option on SE L has increased by £250.
  20. I think you've hit the nail on the head SurreyJohn. Dealers can't always be trusted to communicate information correctly. Which is perhaps why Skoda keep them in the dark most of the time!
  21. "I really can't understand why this punter is making a fuss. They have a car (possibly a Karoq which he thought he was going to get, possibly some other model, let's not be sidetracked by details). It has an engine of some sort, possibly what the customer initially wanted. I've seen it has four of those rubbery things at each corner and at the time of sale I recall it also had five doors. Now the fellow is getting all miffed because it doesn't have an insignificant feature which was on the order form and he was expecting it to have. Give me strength. Well I'm not wasting my time trying to sort him out. If he's unhappy, tough. We have plenty of other fish in the sea to catch. Now how's our weekly/monthly/quarterly sales totals going" -- Imaginary thought process of your dealer's business manager/salesman/business owner? Appalling treatment you have received MattSu. As Gaz1985 has said, follow it up with the motor trade ombudsman and/or Consumer helpline (https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/get-more-help/if-you-need-more-help-about-a-consumer-issue/). Don't let these individuals of doubtful parentage get away with it.
  22. I'm not doubting that you have accurately reported what you were told Timmh, but if that does indeed turn out to be the case then, as others have said, it will leave a great number of disgruntled prospective customers, many of whom will probably look elsewhere. It also brings into question earlier information that they were going to be introducing a 1.5TSI 4X4. Unless they have been experiencing major reliability problems with the 1.5 engine (and nothing to that effect on this forum) it again does not make sense as it is a new engine, intended to replace the 1.4 TSI motor. Or they could be withdrawing the 1.5TSI from the Karoq as it was/is such a good combination that supply is truly outstripping demand and by withdrawing it (temporarily or permanently) they will gain some breathing space. As Doogle69 has said, Skoda is woefully mishandling the supply of information and it looks like we will just have to wait until the end of this month/beginning of August to obtain some clarity. In that regard we are probably in much the same position as your friendly Skoda dealer! Incidentally I too had heard from a Skoda dealer that a SE Navigator model was being introduced. I was told to replace the Edition (which we know from other posts has now been withdrawn), but I doubt if it is a direct replacement, more an additional spec option between SE and SE L.
  23. Your experience, gregoir, highlights the problems with selling modern-day cars. In the old days it was much more simple as there wasn't much difference in the basics between how to drive different cars (except perhaps where different switches were located, etc) but with infotainment systems being de rigeur, plus issues you mention such as different drive settings, it is no longer so simple. One almost needs a several minute briefing session with the salesman before driving off - in my case probably forgetting how to do half of what he has told me. The salesperson who just hands over the key and says "off you go", as in the old days, runs the risk of the customer being put off for some reason - as in your experience . Although the basics are still pretty straightforward between different cars. On the other hand the internet often enables the prospective purchaser to spend time reading through a downloaded version of the car's handbook, before the test drive, so they can gain a good idea of how to perform some function they consider important, or explore some feature they wish to check out. Homework being all the more important these days if you want more than just the basics, I would say.
  24. That date (30th July) corresponds with what I was told today by a dealer, namely that MY19 specs will be available to order from Week 31 (30th July). I was also advised that no petrol cars can be orederd at present, as has been the case for a few weeks. The reason given was shortage of supply, but I suspect WLTP is a main factor. No clarity provided on when Skoda will finalise pricing & spec details for MY 19.
  25. Follow this up Vadimo. It is only if consumers like you do so will businesses learn to either stand by their errors and deal with customers correctly, or they will recognise rectifying errors costs money and it is better to not make the errors in the first place. The seat example is a fine instance of poor proof reading of their advertising literature as I think it said "Electrically operated front seats with memory function" rather than "Electrically operated front seat with memory function". A single letter difference but a lot of difference in the meaning. They say that it was corrected at the time of build, but that is a red herring - unless you were informed by the dealer/Skoda prior to placing the order. nickfrog mentions the FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service?) but I think you will need to deal with the Motor Ombudsman (https://www.themotorombudsman.org/). I see Skoda are signed up to the scheme. I have no idea of the quality of service offered by the MO but I see it is linked to the Chartered Trading Standards Institute approved Codes of Practice so I expect it to be good. Another route you might consider is contacting the media (especially the motoring press) but that is a bit of a luck of the draw, depending upon whether the editor has other stories they might want to run. Your time delay doesn't really help your case as generally when time passes the consumer will be shown to have accepted the situation, so I suggest you get moving if you want to pursue things. Good luck!
