  1. I meant the op mate of course if you have parts on shelf no point in buying anything else 😀
  2. Tbf I've replaced both my front eindow carriers and you can pick them up new for £25 the vomplete unit do maybe best to swop the whole lot out piece of mind then regs snd everything new.
  3. I fitted exactly the same units also and carried out the chalk mate set and they were fine at mot time.
  4. Thats good to know Im always a bit heart in mouth when removing this old trim as you know its so old and brittle and hard to replace so will try if I can do as you did thanks sepulchrave
  5. I was trying to see if I could get part before I had to tear out the trim lol will drive me scatty driving around with it out and im not one for double handling so wanted it out once and done lol oh well guess I best go strip it out and look see 😐
  6. Or there is this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122375468802 seems there are 2 types of connector the push in one and this screw fit one does anyone know which mine is please im assuming its most likely the push fit one ???
  7. Cheers bud is this the correct part I need ??? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112504702872
  8. Quick update everything is wired in nicely and all trim refitted and the little furbie is sounding great next job now replace aerial base which ive is the issue for my radio reception issues so more trim to come off lol.
  9. Used the metal prongs that you slip the stereo out with and the plug slips straight off then
  10. I got it disconnected other side already figured it was some sort of latch that pic has clarified it thanks mate reckon a slim electrical screw driver both sides should release it like doing stereo. Thanks bud 👍
  11. Right little update ive got the trim pieces removed and im at the speaker wire connections so I need the wires on the middle plug to connect to but cannot for the life of me get this plug to unplug, is there some sort of catch or something so I can release this plug as I dont want to force anything and I have very little spare wire to play with on these.
  12. Word to the wise make sure cctv dont pick you up if you decide to over load your car and stick a mate in the boot like I did for the police to pull me up 😢
  13. Ok so started messing around with speakers and such to get a better sound quality going. Ive soft wired everything up now and must admit the sound quality in my furbie sounds awesome now so to the question. Ive used the wires from the rear door tweeters which are totally useless to add another set of speakers onto my real parcel shelf old school style lol I need to hide the wires now and was wondering once I pull the tweeter wires back through the rear door bellows do the rear speaker wires then run under the trim in the cockpit if so then I can do the same with these new wires to get them to the same place as the other rear speaker wires are ???
  14. I know what your saying but the average price was only 6 or 7 quid its not really much to it I've not even seen anything priced more than that to indicate better quality.
  15. I got the amp from the link which was posted earlier and I agree I cant see how the cable is damaged in all honesty. Im not sure how to really check the amp when I plug it into the back of both stereo,s there is a change in static so its trying to do something but still no proper reception. I will try the other aerial I have tomorrow and see if that helps out in any way first
  16. I do have a sharkfin guess might be worth while loose connecting that up see if it is the aerial base if that yields no better results then guess its the main aerial cable gone poof.
  17. I just tried this way today and also tried using my other stereo as well but still same results 😞
  18. Nice video I'm concerned now that the actual aerial cable does need replacing and one main job I have left to do is to retrieve my head lining so I think these 2 jobs eill be done at the same time once it's a bit warmer.
  19. That's what I did I tested the wire its a switched live blue and the only wire left coming out the back of the stereo.
  20. I connected it to the blue wire coming out from the back if the stereo its weird as could here the static had died down but no reception still.
  21. I have a usb and everything plus blue tooth so i can listen to music just wanted the radio and the ability to have traffic on but this amplifier has not worked not sure what to try now.
  22. hmmmmm well that was a lose when I connected it up can hear the frequency change but still not picking up radio stations 😞
  23. I usually just use a cotton bud 😁
  24. Got my amplifier just going out to install it fingers crossed within the hour I can be listening to the sweet tunes of heart fm lol
  25. You know your furby will hold it against you side tracking repairs blaming weather they like you out in the harshest of conditions working your fingers off to frostbite.
