Another Drivers Seat Position Post
Not much help to you I'm afraid but yes I'm another in agreement about the lack of steering wheel distance adjustment. If I set the seat to suit the leg to pedal distance, my arms only just reach the steering wheel enough for it to be acceptable but I'm lucky enough to have arms like a monkey. Unless it's an old wives tale, I believe the average person's arm span from finger tip to finger tip usually matches their height approximately. I'm 5ft 9 but my "wingspan" is about 6ft 3.

Looking at used 2018 SE L Exec estate 1.4tsi - thoughts?
Are you absolutely sure you want a manual gearbox. Mine is manual but I really really really wish I had got DSG as the pedals are offset slightly to the right and having to deal with both feet having to be offset is a right royal pain in the butt... Literally.

Uncomfortable driver's seat again
@Elwood38... Is your car manual gearbox or DSG..? The reason I ask is because over the last two years of struggling with the seat / driving position I have come to the conclusion that there are several factors at play, including seat shape, seat position relative to the pedals (laterally and if you have a clutch pedal the forwards/backwards too), and even the seatbelt alignment has an effect in my opinion. I can't answer your question regarding a professional seat trimmer but the following post helped me significantly....

Phone contacts pics
@Azazeal..... After revisiting this, it turned out that my phone had two duplicate numbers for the contact and once I changed which one the contact pic was associated with the picture stayed.

I've had/got the same problem. One particular contact photo doesn't show. Possibly a phone issue rather than car. My phone is Huawei P30 Pro.

Windows opening themselves
I'm pretty sure you can, and I'm sure I unticked a setting in the infotainment unit to disable it because I've walked out of the house on a morning in the past to find all windows fully open on my old 2006 Vectra so was quick to disable this on my Superb.

Seats, a dead leg, more leg pain, and a fix
You, my friend have just made my car seat about ten times more comfortable. I was sceptical at first about how this would help and also like numskull posted above, I also didn't like the idea of prying something inside the seat. I have tried many times to be more mindful of my position in the seat but still could not get consistently comfortable, I regularly ended up feeling like I was up against the side bolster and was constantly trying to force it out/down away from my leg. So on Saturday morning I decided to investigate it your suggestion. Over the last two years of ownership it has constantly been on my mind that I may have to bite the bullet and trade the car in for something else (at significant cost too), but I am now much more confident that I will be able to live with the car long term. I thank you, and my hip thanks you.

Continental Eco Contact 6 durability / alternatives
Thanks for the input John but I regularly check the pressures myself and the wear does appear to be evenly spread across the tyres. The backs currently have a couple of millimetres above the tread depth indicator so I'll see how long they last before deciding to get another new set and then swap.

Continental Eco Contact 6 durability / alternatives
To be honest I've never really done much research when it comes to tyres (my bad, I know). If the Continental Eco tyres don't last very long when that's supposed to be their main selling point then it makes me think they're not very good. Having learned more about tyres I have now ordered a pair of Michelin Cross Climate 2 all seasons tyres. A bit more expensive but if they do what they're supposed to do (and last more than 12,500 miles) then I'm happy.

Continental Eco Contact 6 durability / alternatives
Thanks xman... The advisory states both front tyres close to legal limit. The sent a video and I have checked myself and it's correct. Interesting to hear what you say about Continental tyres... I'll be making a change to a different brand then although indecisive about brand at the moment. Thinking about going for an all season tyre but not sure if the continentals were summer or all season tyre but they weren't particularly good in snow even just a couple of weeks after getting them.

Continental Eco Contact 6 durability / alternatives
Car gone in for MOT today and I've been given an advisory for the front tyres (Continental Eco Contact 6), which were only fitted about 14 months ago (approx. 12500 miles) which I thought seemed shockingly poor considering I don't go around thrashing the car and driving aggressively. Has anyone got recommendations for tyre brands giving good balance between price vs performance vs durability. And likewise, warnings about brands to avoid as I seem to remember seeing a few negative posts about Pirelli P7's...? My size is 215/55/R17

Anyone dead set on Sportline estate, but then changed to an L&K and glad you did ?
If you currently have an Octavia VRS and were planning to get a Superb Sportline, I would recommend making absolutely sure you are happy with the amount of side bolstering you'd get from the seat back of the L&K versus the Sportline. I find myself too narrow to get much lateral restraint from the leather seat backs and wish I'd got a Sportline because the seats hug you better in those.

Automatic central locking not working while driving
Thanks for the replies.... I haven't really had the problem since I posted, possibly seemed a fraction of a second delay between manually pressing the button and then locks engaging when I tried it again later that day, so I've bought a battery/alternator tester and will see if that throws anything up, otherwise the car may just have been having an off day.

Automatic central locking not working while driving
Hi... This morning on my way to work I noticed that I kept hearing a clicking noise every so often and realised the car was trying unsuccessfully to automatically lock the doors when up to speed. I also tried it manually by pressing the button near the gearstick while queuing in traffic but it still wouldn't lock. The central locking all worked with the key fob when I got out of the car but I thought it sounded a little less of a positive clunk, but maybe that's just my imagination. Has anyone else had this ? I'm wondering if this is a sign of a deteriorating battery. Car is Superb III 2018, SE Tech, Petrol, Manual, 32000 miles. Thanks

Creaking and groaning suspension : non active suspension
I have very creaky suspension like you describe but am struggling to even get anyone to diagnose it properly. Did Skoda give you a price to replace the roll bar prior to agreeing to do in under warranty..?

Advice on buying Superb Mk3
Some things to watch out for are... Very creaking suspension (applies to both DCC and non DCC). Common problem it seems and very often not permanently resolved, which is often put down to one or more of various suspension bushes, but very tricky to find someone to definitively diagnose and permanently solve it seems. (Speaking from personal experience). Alarmingly loud sometimes, like a set of rusty bed springs. Loose or mis-aligned chrome door trim at B pillar where the abutment sometimes snags on each other. Glove box catch doesn't work properly on some cars, resulting in random opening while driving. Umbrella in doors and boot torch often missing if buying used. Suspension delivery blocks have been known to be left in place so if suspension feels ultra harsh, possibly double check this (not sure how though).

Advice on buying Superb Mk3
I too am a bit old school. I was untrusting of the Dq200 gearbox and didn't want to risk a big repair bill. But I've ended up contemplating trading the car in due to some issues, mainly the driving position which is made much worse by having to use the clutch and that will probably cost me more than a dsg repair bill. Also, the car generally suits dsg because of the automatic cruise control. If you really want a manual gearbox then try to be sure you're happy with the driving position.

What are the reasons behind you wanting a manual gearbox ? I have a manual gearbox and deeply regret not getting automatic.

Skoda Superb Estate - Advice Required
If you do mostly short journeys the petrol would be more suitable unless you do a longer journey every so often to help the diesel particulate filter do a regen. How often you'd have to do a longer run I'm not sure (perhaps once a week?? ..other more qualified people may be able to advise on that). I have a 1.4 TSi and was pleasantly surprised how much torque it has. My previous car was a 1.8 petrol Vauxhall Vectra and it feels to have! noticeably more torque, particularly from low down the rev range at 2000 rpm (manual gearbox) in third gear and from there on. I can't comment on the 1.5 TSi specifically but I'd imagine it's no less torquey as long as the previous kangarooing issues that many seemed to complain about have now been resolved (with what I believe was a software update). I'm no expert, this is just my two penneth incase it helps. I guess it depends what you're used to currently.

Manual 6 speed gearbox oil change
I'm no expert but I believe that's the DQ250 wet clutch box. What size engine..?

testdriving a Superb 3 - any particular points to look for?
Creaking suspension at low speeds. Might seem like nothing at present but it's common for it to get a lot worse.

Skoda superb MK !!! sat nav
No idea if this is accurate or not but my son said the other day that he thought the colours on my sat nav changed when I changed drive mode from eco to sport. I didn't notice it so could just have been something else changing on the screen but just a thought incase it's true.

Throttle pedal discomfort
Not exactly but maybe try moving seat back a bit so the part of your foot resting on the pedal is more towards the front of your foot, eg past the ball of your foot towards your toes.
