6 speed auto or 7 speed info?
So basically, the DQ250 has been replaced with the DQ381 since MY2019 ?

6 speed auto or 7 speed info?
Do all MY2019 petrols have the DQ381...? Or is it still DQ200 on the lower torque engines and DQ381 on the 2.0 litre petrol ?

What year did the 7 speed wet clutch start being used in the Superb ?

6 speed auto or 7 speed info?
I went with a manual gearbox because of concerns about reliability/possible expensive repair bill and reservations about tight space/uphill manoeuvring but wish I had got a dsg. I can still justify a manual gearbox to myself because I don't do high mileage and most of my journeys are short but in the back of my mind I know the driving experience would be more pleasurable if I had a dsg, so much so that I am still thinking about trading in even though I will have taken a hit financially. If I do trade in though I would still be leaning more towards the 6 speed wet clutch dsg.

I believe the 6 speed DQ250 has a better reputation for reliability than the 7 speed DQ200.

Rear passenger door on Mklll L&K
Funny you should say that..... The other day when my son tried to get out of the back door it wouldn't open and we had to open it from the outside. I just thought the child lock must be on for some reason but this morning I have moved the child lock switch and it still won't open from inside. Stranger still is that it's the same at both sides. Both rear doors open fine from outside though.

D M Keith Ltd - Leeds.
Haven't decided if I'm swapping the car or not yet. I've had trouble getting truly comfortable in the seat so after lockdown I will go try some different cars to compare

I had the air con service done at the same time as the "major service" because I am considering trading the car so wanted to keep the service record as good as possible. I should also add that when the car went back in for the brake fluid change and MOT, DM Keith phoned me to suggest I have the rear brake pads and discs replaced, along with the windscreen wiper(s) which they could do while it was in the garage (for about £370), so I asked if the car had failed the MOT due to those. They said "We haven't done the MOT yet, we give the car a health check before doing the MOT to see what might fail". I may be wrong but I consider the MOT to be a health check so I told them to just do the MOT and get back to me. When the MOT result came back the brakes and wipers were only noted as slightly worn, so it seems to me that was their attempt at getting me to spend £370 that wasn't really needed (well not just yet anyway). Result is I won't be going back to DM Keith Leeds in a hurry.

L&K Superb is an Awesome Car, but the Driver's Seat is Awful
Roy.... After a few months of driving the BMW, can I ask, are you still finding it as comfortable ? I'm now considering trying out a 5 series when this lockdown ends.

Road noise in cabin
Mine feels pretty quiet so maybe it's just relative to what else you compare to. I came from a 2006 Vectra to my Superb so maybe that was just noisier. Edit: Mine is on Continentals all round too.

DM Keith - Importance of air con service vs brake fluid change
"Skoda" weren't servicing my car though. DM Keith were and they don't give a clear list of what will and won't be done. Yes, I could have specifically asked what was included but the fact is that I wanted everything doing that was due. I didn't imagine for one minute that they would suggest one specific item but not another more important item when both were due in another two months. One of the main reasons anyone takes their car to a main dealer is for their "expertise" in knowing what needs to be done and when, so that I don't need to try to become an expert in Skoda servicing recommendations.

irc.... That seems like an amazing price for a brand new Superb.

Skoda extended warranty
I don't know but I have read elsewhere that if you buy the extended warranty at different times you get different levels of cover due to later purchases (later than the three year factory warranty expiration) using a third party warranty rather than VAG. This could be nonsense, I'm just highlighting that it may not be as straight forward as it should be.

Skoda extended warranty
Is the DSG covered ? I thought I had read somewhere that it wouldn't be. Edit: Seems it may depend when you buy the extended warranty as to whether the dsg is covered...

DM Keith - Importance of air con service vs brake fluid change
I totally agree. The service manager has now come back to me slightly defensively but offered to knock £20 off the cost of the brake fluid change (£39 MOT+£39 brake fluid) and pick the car up and drop it off plus a wash, or I can take it myself and have free courtesy car. My original plan was to take the car to my local well regarded garage for the MOT so I may still do that but the main reason I opted for main dealer servicing in the first place was because I may trade the car in soon so maybe I should still use the dealer for MOT and brake fluid change just for slightly better service record...?

DM Keith - Importance of air con service vs brake fluid change
More of a rant than a question but also a heads up to others..... I have just received a phone call from DM Keith (Leeds) which as I anticipated was informing me that my car is approaching three years old and therefore due it's first MOT. Whilst informing me that my MOT was due, I was also informed that my brake fluid should be changed at three years old. My car had been in the dealership for a "Major Service" less than two months ago and it seems they did not change the brake fluid in the "Major Service" which cost £279. Why on earth they wouldn't advise me about this when booking the car in for the "Major Service" I really don't understand, especially considering they were very quick to sell me an air con service for an extra £139 because that was recommended at three years. Personally I would consider brake fluid servicing more important than air con servicing but DM Keith seem to think differently. And main dealers wonder why they get bad press. My dissatisfaction has been communicated to DM Keith directly so I'll see what they say but I'm not holding my breath for a positive response.

Suberb Style 150bhp -anything a must to order ?
ACC with manual gearbox works better than you might imagine (better than I imagined anyway). Works well on motorways if traffic keeps moving because it doesn't disengage just because you change gear. If you change down it disengage briefly while changing but then re-engages. Also.. If the ACC is doesn't pick up again to accelerate straight away after slowing then I find a quick backwards flick of the ACC lever kick starts it to accelerate again.

Sportline front passenger seat - how flat does it fold backwards?
Have you considered getting a Superb but not the Sportline version so that you could remove the headrests and then lower the seat backwards on the occasions you want to get extra long pieces of timber in ?

My dash cam fitting
I haven't got my user manual with me so can't be sure but if I remember correctly I might have used fuse 32 which I think was a 7.5 amp for park assist (which I don't have so was spare).

Seat Memory & New or Disconnected Battery
Thanks for the reply AGFalco.... So I assume that's the kind of thing a main dealer would do but what about a smaller garage or the AA if my battery needed to be replaced..? The reason I ask is that it's taken me a year to find the right seat position so I'm now a bit paranoid about it being lost when in for servicing or in future if I get a flat battery.

Seat Memory & New or Disconnected Battery
Hi.... Does anyone know if when you need a new battery the seat memory settings would be lost...? Similarly, could that happen when the battery is just disconnected..? Thanks

Picked up the iV today
Drop them an email and they might post you one out. When I got my approved used from Bristol Street Motors the umbrellas and boot torch were missing but to my surprise they posted all three out free of charge.

Service costs - Independant v Dealer
I've just booked in my 2018/ 3 year old/ 21000 miles 1.4 TSi for "Oil Service and Inspection" at DM Keith Leeds at a cost of £279. Or should I say that's what I thought they said but your figures are now making me wonder if I misheard.
