Citigo added to the family garage.
A 62 plate Citigo was my sons first car when he passed his test and he's still got it 6 years later.

Citigo added to the family garage.
A Citigo is a group 1 or 2 depending on trim out of 50 so about as cheap to insure as you can get apart from the electric one that is group 12.

Components not working
Has the blower completely stopped or just the 3 lower speeds? If so it could be the resistor for it blown. About a tenner to replace but half the dash needs to come out. Blower resistor - Škoda Citigo - BRISKODA

2018 Citigo - what fits into this adjustable dash mounted cradle?
Citigo's used to have a different fitting as satnav was a factory option. I forget the original make but latterly was a Garmin unit (my son has one in his Citigo). Around 2016 the Citigo had a facelift and the satnav option was dropped and this fitting was supplied. It holds your mobile and they then provided a satnav option as an app "Move and Fun". I tried to use this in my Citigo but it was poorly supported and riddled with gremlins (there are SEAT and VW versions available) so I ditched it. The plus point of the new fitting is the USB socket behind it which you can use to charge your phone.

Blower motor speed control: where do I find it to replace it please?
I used this video (last post) to track down all the screws to replace my blower resistor. It involved half the dash!

Replacing passenger dashboard airbag
I don't know for sure but fear it will be a fair chunk of the dashboard. I while back I needed to replace the blower resistor which is behind the glovebox but you can't just remove it. You have to remove half the dash to get it out. There is a video at the bottom of my thread here that shows how to get in:

Move and Fun quirk?
I've been using the Move and Fun app for years albeit with a few hitches along the way but a new glitch seems to have started. When using the satnav it automatically lowers the volume of the radio when it speaks as it also does if playing music from a SD card but when playing music from Spotify on my phone via Bluetooth it now increases the music volume and shouts at me! I can't see anything in settings so assume it's as a result of an update. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Cheers

Heater Blowers Not Working
If the blower only works on 4 it's probably just the resistor (around £10) that needs replacing although it's not easy. Here's how I sorted mine:

2016 Citigo cam belt replacement
2 posts above the screen grabs in the response from Skoda UK's Customer Service: "I'd like to inform you that I've been in contact with our internal Technical Team regarding the timing belt service interval for your 2015 Skoda Citigo SE with the 1.0 L petrol engine. According to their response, the recommended timing belt replacement interval for this specific model is after 15 years, with no specific mileage stipulation."

2016 Citigo cam belt replacement
Have a read of the various Citigo camblet threads on here; there is no mileage requirement, just a 15 year replacement interval. For years Skoda UK have been ignoring this to make money for servicing departments.
-
Cam belt swap timescales
There are a fair few threads on this forum around the timing belt. Basically they should be inspected every 160k miles but Skoda UK thought it should be 4 years/60k miles. Some dealerships do, however, acknowledge the Citigo is unique with the 'longlife' timing belt but some don't through ignorance, not being advised by Skoda UK or to just take your hard earned cash!

Alloys and balance weights
I know but just a pain having to go and buy paint, brush and fiddle about doing it.

Alloys and balance weights
Just had 4 new tyres fitted to my black alloys so what could the problem possibly be? Bright silver balance weights gleaming between the spokes. Aaaaargh!

Navigon updates
If it's the PID that came before the switch to the Move & Fun app you may well be out of luck. Skoda stopped supporting the PID a couple of years ago so there's a fair chance Seat and VW stopped too. I can still plug my sons into the PC to see all the folders but the Skoda website that updated maps etc no longer exists. With a bit of fiddling and pretending you've got a VW you could update the map here: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/myvolkswagen/navigation-map-update.html?---={"myvolkswagen_navigation-map-update_featureappsection"%3A"%2F%3F{\"selectedCarId\"%3A\"upFrom2016\"%2C\"selectedNaviId\"%3A\"garmin\"}"}

Citigo garmin password
Unfortunately you won't be able to update it as Skoda withdrew support a couple of years ago and the website that you used for the updates was closed down.

Citigo fuse box
Not that I could find I'm afraid, it is a real bugger to access as is the cabin filter when you come to change it 🙁

Aftermarket Head Units/Radios - Looking for inspiration
My Citigo is a Nov 2016 model and has always been a halfway house. New radio, headlights and Move & Fun App instead of the PID but old bonnet and fog lamps. At the time it was supposedly the facelift model so not impressed when a few months later more updates were made.....

Need Help Installing Cruise Control Skoda Citigo 2013
I came across this very handy video when I needed to replace the blower resistor. Removing the dash is at the beginning. https://youtu.be/vzL4PNxddyM

Is there a way to see what options my Citigo have? and a few other questions
Just be aware with the PID that it is no longer supported by Skoda/Garmin so maps etc can't be updated.

Skoda Citigo SE (2013) - PID compatability?
Support ended just over a year ago so that would have been when the last update was. The Garmin 'Fresh' site where maps were updated from ceased providing updates at that time which, I believe, was the only source of updates and is no longer accessible. I contacted Skoda customer service at the time whose response was basically 'tough'.

Garmin satnav for citigo
Originally Citigo's came with the option of the Navigon then Garmin PID which clipped into a cradle which provided electronic connection etc. In 2016 the PID was ditched in favour of the Move & Fun app for your smartphone when the cradle was changed to one that just help the phone. It connects via Bluetooth but you could also plug your phone in to charge it. Pre 2016 the wiring will be there for the PID but post 2016 it won't so the year of car will dictate what you can use. Another thing to remember is Skoda have now stopped supporting the PID so maps can no longer be updated.
