  1. I don't know for sure but fear it will be a fair chunk of the dashboard. I while back I needed to replace the blower resistor which is behind the glovebox but you can't just remove it. You have to remove half the dash to get it out. There is a video at the bottom of my thread here that shows how to get in:
  2. I've been using the Move and Fun app for years albeit with a few hitches along the way but a new glitch seems to have started. When using the satnav it automatically lowers the volume of the radio when it speaks as it also does if playing music from a SD card but when playing music from Spotify on my phone via Bluetooth it now increases the music volume and shouts at me! I can't see anything in settings so assume it's as a result of an update. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Cheers
  3. If the blower only works on 4 it's probably just the resistor (around £10) that needs replacing although it's not easy. Here's how I sorted mine:
  4. 2 posts above the screen grabs in the response from Skoda UK's Customer Service: "I'd like to inform you that I've been in contact with our internal Technical Team regarding the timing belt service interval for your 2015 Skoda Citigo SE with the 1.0 L petrol engine. According to their response, the recommended timing belt replacement interval for this specific model is after 15 years, with no specific mileage stipulation."
  5. Mentioned a number of times and the latest here:

  7. Have a read of the various Citigo camblet threads on here; there is no mileage requirement, just a 15 year replacement interval. For years Skoda UK have been ignoring this to make money for servicing departments.
  8. There are a fair few threads on this forum around the timing belt. Basically they should be inspected every 160k miles but Skoda UK thought it should be 4 years/60k miles. Some dealerships do, however, acknowledge the Citigo is unique with the 'longlife' timing belt but some don't through ignorance, not being advised by Skoda UK or to just take your hard earned cash!
  9. I know but just a pain having to go and buy paint, brush and fiddle about doing it.
  10. Just had 4 new tyres fitted to my black alloys so what could the problem possibly be? Bright silver balance weights gleaming between the spokes. Aaaaargh!
  11. This is a handy video showing how to dismantle the dash: https://youtu.be/vzL4PNxddyM
  12. If it's the PID that came before the switch to the Move & Fun app you may well be out of luck. Skoda stopped supporting the PID a couple of years ago so there's a fair chance Seat and VW stopped too. I can still plug my sons into the PC to see all the folders but the Skoda website that updated maps etc no longer exists. With a bit of fiddling and pretending you've got a VW you could update the map here: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/myvolkswagen/navigation-map-update.html?---={"myvolkswagen_navigation-map-update_featureappsection"%3A"%2F%3F{\"selectedCarId\"%3A\"upFrom2016\"%2C\"selectedNaviId\"%3A\"garmin\"}"}
  13. Unfortunately you won't be able to update it as Skoda withdrew support a couple of years ago and the website that you used for the updates was closed down.
  14. Not that I could find I'm afraid, it is a real bugger to access as is the cabin filter when you come to change it 🙁
  15. My Citigo is a Nov 2016 model and has always been a halfway house. New radio, headlights and Move & Fun App instead of the PID but old bonnet and fog lamps. At the time it was supposedly the facelift model so not impressed when a few months later more updates were made.....
  16. I came across this very handy video when I needed to replace the blower resistor. Removing the dash is at the beginning. https://youtu.be/vzL4PNxddyM
  17. Just be aware with the PID that it is no longer supported by Skoda/Garmin so maps etc can't be updated.
  18. Support ended just over a year ago so that would have been when the last update was. The Garmin 'Fresh' site where maps were updated from ceased providing updates at that time which, I believe, was the only source of updates and is no longer accessible. I contacted Skoda customer service at the time whose response was basically 'tough'.
  19. Originally Citigo's came with the option of the Navigon then Garmin PID which clipped into a cradle which provided electronic connection etc. In 2016 the PID was ditched in favour of the Move & Fun app for your smartphone when the cradle was changed to one that just help the phone. It connects via Bluetooth but you could also plug your phone in to charge it. Pre 2016 the wiring will be there for the PID but post 2016 it won't so the year of car will dictate what you can use. Another thing to remember is Skoda have now stopped supporting the PID so maps can no longer be updated.
  20. The Scope element is explained here https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/extended-scope but it does appear to include most of the things in the extortionate oil and inspection service. I ditched Skoda main dealer servicing at the first opportunity and now get more done for less money at a local garage that I actually trust to do the work.
  21. Never believe the story a salesman tells you about previous owners, I was one, they're hardly likely to say they were boy racers! A married couple means nothing, my missus treats her car awfully! It also reads that despite buying a new car they had it serviced and had work done by an independent rather than the dealership. Sure, there are plenty of great independents out there as well dealerships but there are just as many dodgy ones. Who knows what work was carried out and to what standard? Like I said it is 4 years old not brand new so you can't expect it to be as good as new.
  22. Playing devils advocate here having worked in the motor trade for a number of years on the sales side the amount of times I've heard someone say, for example, "I just want a perfect running car it’s not asking a lot considering the mileage and 1 previous owner". You've answered your own question there, it's heading for 4 years old, out of warranty and has had one previous owner of unknown driving ability. People want all the benefits of a brand new car without buying one. I will site an example from back when I was selling Suzuki's. One of our aging customers bought a brand new Swift which we didn't see again for 3 years until he brought it in to P/X against another new one as he was having a few issues with it. In 3 years it had covered under 700 miles, it had never been in for a service, he had been riding the clutch and admitted he only used it once a week to do a 3 mile round trip to the shops and didn't take it out of 2nd gear as he didn't like driving fast. The wheels were kerbed and the tyres had chunks taken out of them. The engine had never even been warmed up. Now, this is an extreme scenario but a potential buyer of a second hand car wold just see a very low mileage, 3 year old, one owner car but they'd be buying a whole heap of potential issues. We didn't want it on our forecourt so traded it out.
  23. It does look similar but I didn't go anywhere near the stereo and being a Swing one it's part of the dash. I've been looking through the parts catalogue and can't find anything like it, the mystery remains
  24. It's covered in the first 3 minutes here: The side panel he opens at 57 seconds conceals 2 screws that he doesn't mention but they are easy to spot. You don't actually have to completely remove the centre console or disconnect the switches in it. You only need to slide it towards the back of the car a bit to get at the screws.
  25. I replaced the blower resistor yesterday https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/500487-blower-resistor/ and today found the object below in the passenger footwell. No idea what it is as it wasn't something I removed, did it fall off something or just hitched a lift in the car? It's hollow, made of rubber and 21mm tall. Answers on a post card
