Is this a good price for the Superb L&K Saloon
For 14k extra, on a car that is the same same with a lower powered engine and all the potential issues that comes with diesel if you don't use it as intended... ... I cannot see an upside. Don't forget the new MK4 is coming out. You'll have a lot more depreciation on the new car too.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Felt that there was some vibrations coming through the steering wheel, after I went through a ridge (A road, 55mph, big big thump). Therefore I did wheel balancing on the 2 fronts, which were only slightly out of balance. Pressures checked as well although I don't expect that was an issue as I keep on top of it. Will find out later this week once I drive on a motorway to see if it's actually something else that is wrong.....

Thinking of coming back to Skoda - Superb Sportline Plus
190ps 2.0tsi will do 40mpg easily on the motorway, and more on A roads (50-60mpg). The b-cycle and 7 speed dsg helps a lot. Don't think you'll get anything like that if doing lots of short journeys. I got 42mpg (computer) on my 280 6spd 2016 hatch on a run to Germany. The new 190 will be better

Superb 272 Stage 1 experience
Excellent tune and mods. I always fancied a stage 1 tune but that feeling is occasionally repressed when I floor my stock 280 time to time. It is quick enough as it is. 😆

Yes, that sounds just like a golf R. 😂 I love it.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
Agree. Being 2.0 diesels, 150 or 190 should not make much difference with normal driving. Power is made by burning fuel. There is no magic involved, more power means more fuel and increased combustion losses. With normal driving, you aren't using anywhere near 150 or 190hp. They'll be much the same. It'll be different if one is a smaller capacity engine which generally means it has less friction and inertia losses. But even then it could be marginal depending on situation and engine design. If they are the same price or close, I'd just get the 190 tbh. You have more power when required.

Only remembered to check that once and it's 6.6km/l which is pretty much 19mpg.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
I took it easy from London to Dover. And there was a long stretch of 50mph limit. On my way to the Nurburging, I did a detour to Cologne. All the way there plenty of roadworks so it kept average speed down. Final bit before Nurburgring it's pretty much 70km/h to 100km/h limits on A roads. Your 34.7mpg... Is it UK mpg or US? Let's stick to km/L or L/100km. I live in the UK but MPG is just daft😂😂😂

@MartiniB 14km/L is 40mpg (UK). Or 7.14L/100km.

@xman that's amazing stuff. I do think the car's fuel tank is about 70L in reality when filled to first click. I have once filled up at 69L to first click and it wasn't even on fumes. I got 40mpg in my 280 on my way down to the Nurburgring from South London recently via dover-dunkirk ferry. Only 78km/h average speed with a few blasts of unrestricted autobahn. Your 56mph average and 59mpg is absolutely fabulous.

@Bap33 yes it is always a concern with blind corners. Every second on the ring is a risk, even going slow as someone could still go into you. Still as a car enthusiast, I think it's a risk worth taking (with mitigation) to at least do a lap and live through it. I would definitely do it again, even with my current not for that purpose car. If you love Belgian beer...Fill the car up on the way back. I got lucky and managed to get some Westvleteren Trappist beer. Happy to share tips/my experience further with anyone. Just DM to avoid going way off topic here😂

There it is....

Did you fit them both yourself? If so, was it easy? I am always under the impression that there is more space around the turbo inlet in the superb than say a golf R / S3. Easier job in my mind.

I shall report back on this....

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Anyway... I have stuck on my souvenir from the ring to my car. A Nurburgring sticker that I originally planned to stick inside the car but it's now on the boot lid... +20hp until it falls off.

@Bap33 my previous tyre was the Pirelli P7. 6 years old when I replaced it. The PS5 is less harsh over sharp bumps. Grip, can't really say as I did not compare both side by side on the limit. I think the PS5 is an improvement over the PS4 but isn't the sporty tyre. PS4S still the performance tyre.

Yes it's fine. I only did a lap each day. Completed my 3rd lap today and that is it. ATE ceramic pads so produce dust, it's just grey and not black. Very visible after my semi wet lap at the ring. I guess the moisture makes it stick to the wheels.

Cannot refuel!!
It might just be a dud pump at the petrol station where you encountered the problem.

I took my 280 round the ring. First in real life lap for me. Elevation changes is nuts. Busy session. Win because car still in one piece.

Superb Wagon 4x4 2.0tsi 272 - Brisk Bambino Bakkie
Well...Having just done my first ever lap of the Nurburgring TF.... I will say that there is enough power in stock form for the 280. Brakes are OK too, albeit I have a new set of discs and pad but nothing fancy. Stock size and ATE ceramic pads. The suspension is not keeping up, I do not have DCC. I do have Michelin PSS tyres. Still very fun and scary at the same time. I also saw a CZ plate 280 there. Wonder if it's a member here.

I actually think the brakes are fine as is. They are already chunky at 340mm up front.

Seems like you had lots of fun. I will be on the autobahn in a few days time with my stock 280 6speed. It won't do 276kph but it's a chance for me to explore whatever upper range there is.

Done: Oil and filter change. Brake fluid change. New discs and pads (ate ceramics and ate coated) all round. If anyone is interested in part no, I will dig it out from my autodoc order.

£72 to rotate wheels at annual service!
I think OP is saying the charge is for wheel rotation! Brake fluid change iirc is 60quid flat at most if not all Skoda dealers.
