What have you done to your Superb III today?
For fun, I decided to see if I can do a 550mile (total) trip on a single tank of petrol in my 280. So far, seems to be on target.

Why are the chart axis title wrong? Can you trust them? π Anyway, joking aside, this must feel super.

Glove box won't stay closed
Been living with mine pretty much open for 2+ years now. Worse in cold weather when it just will not stay shut. Shall try some silicone spray on the pins and report back. Annoying problem this, more so at night as that glovebox light is there lol

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
No, after the 272, it became 280 once again (now). Timeline: original 280 6spd dsg, then 272 7spd dsg, now 280 7spd dsg. Only the original 280 6spd has dual injection.

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
I am not sure about the year but am certain it came into effect when the 272 was launched. Probably around 2019? Since then it's just direct injection. Any 272 and 280 that is newer than a 272 will be direct injection only. Yes port injection helps to reduce carbon buildup on the intake valve plenum and valve stems. Just a side benefit as the intention of port injection is to reduce particulates. This is why the direct injection only engines has a GPF.

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
The other way round. Original 280 has port and direct injection. 272 has direct only with GPF. Current 280 is also direct injection with gpf.

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
And badging. Wheels make all the difference. L&K spec looks nicer, but one can quite reasonable expect an SE L spec car to be a minicab π

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
The ultimate Q spec is the 280 SE-L. That one really would look like a taxi.

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
Yes, 272 should be better on fuel on the motorway. Exhaust flaps actually does nothing. Slight difference, insignificant. But just the clicking when it cycles at engine start makes me chuckle.

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
Only thing on a 272 I would want in my 280 is the 7speeder. Makes for much lower revs at motorway speeds. The 220 with 6speeder is iirc geared differently to the 280 despite same gearbox and will give less revs too at the same speed. Everything else, the 280 is better IMO I.e. dual injection and of course... Exhaust flapsπ

Would you take a Superb estate over Passat estate if Passat is cheaper?
Like for like engine, definitely Passat.

New tyres on the 4x4 superb
This is it. And as I found out, it's not that hard to get oversteer with ****ty tyres at the rear on a FWD Clio. In the dry and more so in the wet...
-
Are creaking anti roll bar bushes replaceable? Big job?
My 280 probably has this issue. Creaks when there is suspension movement, noticeable when at really low speeds only. Have ignored it for at least 2 years now but I might try the grease/spray thing and see if it goes away.

New tyres on the 4x4 superb
It's all relative. Amplified in the wet. And again with low thread depth. Better tyres are like ABS and stability control. Almost never required, but when you need it.... It might make a difference.
-
New tyres on the 4x4 superb
You'd be doing something amazing if you manage to lose the rear end braking in a straight line. If it's not a straight line, then it's oversteer, since you are steering to an angle...

New tyres on the 4x4 superb
You just described why not to put grippier front vs worn rear tyres? Yes, if you have new tyres at the front, it's more likely to oversteer, especially in the wet. I know because I did just that. On an old banger clio, budget new front tyres vs quite worn budget rears. It was incredibly easy to get oversteer in damp or wet conditions. In the dry too if I try a bit. It will oversteer before understeering.

2018 Octavia VRS (245) vs 2017 IS300H
I have had an IS300h for a 24h test drive years ago. It'd a brilliant car, except interior and boot space will not beat an Octavia estate. Not many cars beat that anyway. London stop start traffic you can certainly expect sub 30mpg from the vrs but the IS300h will average 40mpg and above easily regardless. IS300h won't have Android auto/car play but reliability will be better plus that warranty too. You just need to rank your requirements and will end up with one or another. I cross shopped a GS450h vs my current superb 280tsi. Boot space, fold down seat, and the fact that I love a golf r drive train meant I am here now. Would be happy in either but the superb suits more of my needs at the expense is something I don't value as much.

MK3 Power Seats Not Working
Final update. Bought module as per part number above. Β£156 from Skoda. Got a garage to swap it and all is working now. So...If anybody's seat stop working and you have a presumably dodgy version B of the seat module... It is likely it if everything else checks out.
-
DSG strange behaviour?
As per @MarkyG82.. probably was knocked into sport. At 'D' a pull down will put it into sport mode.
-
MK3 Power Seats Not Working
Skoda dealers are hopeless so tomorrow I will be calling up some independents for that. Hopefully can confirm and then it's a matter of getting the part and hopefully sorted.

MK3 Power Seats Not Working
Update: confirmed fuse is OK and 12v is at the fuse box terminals. So that one 300% ruled out as I checked it multiple times to make sure... Connectors all tight, even disconnected and reconnected a wiggly looking one. Nope. Therefore increasingly likely it's the module (or motors but unlikely I think), will need to take it for diagnostics. Just for anyone interested and records, my module part is as 5Q0 595 760 B. The latest compatible revision or version is 5Q0 595 760 F which are the ones easily available to buy online.

Has anyone managed to extend the iV battery?
Although I understand the want to have more electric range in a car you love, isn't adding more batteries in the boot going to make the boot even smaller? Which in case kind of negate one of the main advantages of a Superb. In any case, extra batteries don't come cheap, it might work out cheaper just getting a cheap EV as a second car or upgrading to a long range EV. Maybe even an EV with longer range. Don't know enough about your usage patterns to give anymore suggestions...

MK3 Power Seats Not Working
@ApertureS thanks for the offer but I'm in Sutton so opposite ends so not ideal. Tbh if it's it isn't connectors and fuse, probably the module. And you know what, there is a cable tie around the module so that's a clue that it has been 'touched' before as I bought the car used about 4 years ago. Will actually cut off the cable tie and see why it's there. I have sneaky feeling a bracket or clip has broken and it's there to hold the module. Might give me easier access too if it drop down!

MK3 Power Seats Not Working
So, MOT failed on the Sportline 280 due to driver's power seat not working. What luck as it never got found since I am the only driver and the seat is perfectly adjusted long time ago.... Anyway, tried to troubleshoot around and the following I have done to no success in fixing it: Power seat is the standard memory type with 3x positions. Driver only, passenger side is manual. - Swap fuse. Nope... - Check visible connectors under the seat to modules etc. Made sure all are connected properly and they are. - on the off chance there is a software bug, I tried switching driver profiles, deactivating personalisation, doesn't fix the problem. - In the settings (on screen), i tried pressing the 'seat' function and the display gives me an error stating the function is not available. I am not sure if it would bring up another menu if not faulty as I do not remember. Short of VCDS/diagnostic tool (which I do not have), or booking it in, are there any other ideas on what I can check? Thanks in advanceπ

What have you done to your Superb III today?
+3mpg?! That's amazing and I would keep it regardless of how they look ...
