  1. Owned mine for nearly 5 years now. No idea if it's the original battery but everything still ok. Had a year of really tough nearly daily 1.5mile short runs and it still shows 12.4-12.6v on my cheap cigarette lighter USB socket. I do disable S/S manually every time and have switched off the going home lights. Should be easy to check battery voltage and see
  2. My autodoc order took a full 2 weeks to arrive from ordering. 1 week spent processing, picking, waiting for pickup. Then 4 days after courier picked up with courier (evri) saying awaiting pickup lol. Good prices, OK for not in a hurry stuff. Have fun with the install!
  3. That's taking the pish assuming wheels are gonna be off for brake fluid change.
  4. Biggie lighter plug, is that switchable ? In case you didn't know, they are always on. Not sure what you are plugging in but don't want to flatten the battery...
  5. Touristafarten... Not track day! I can't wait to see it myself too😂
  6. I set up an action cam mount in my sportline 280. Will prove useful for my upcoming trip to Nurburgring... Having no detachable head rests meant no convenient central clamp position so I made do with a sticky mount on top of the middle air vents. Quite handy as vents can be adjusted to blow cool air into the cam. Would help as action cams are prone to shut off when too hot. Tested it a bit and so far it's still sticking. Have a backup clamp for over the rear view mirror if it fails. Also after a full 2 weeks, my brake parts ordered from Autodoc arrived. It's true what people say on forums. Don't order from Autodoc if you are in a hurry.
  7. @tartanthing Do update us on what happens. Whether your existing module is the same as mine above (revision and what you did to make it work again. Assuming same problem as mine.
  8. I told my local garage to skip fault finding (I tested fuse, confirmed voltage exist ) and just swap the module. They charged me an hour's labour at 62quid incl. Fair charge IMO. Total time probably like half hour but at that point, I was happy it's all working and I can get it to MOT retest.
  9. Been to Marshalls Harlow once for extended scope service and the chap(s) there managed to put on the service sheets my spare tyre thread depth. Problem is I don't have a spare tyre... None. Incredible sorcery.
  10. Not a 'done' physically but I have bought discs and pads all round for my 280 from autodoc. ATE coated discs and ATE ceramic pads.
  11. 20 around town is about right if the town is like London with lots of 20/30 limit and traffic. Even stop start won't make it any better ... 27 on a run (assuming definition is same as me.) Sounds low. I'd expect more than 30 in a 272. You must be ragging it,😂
  12. Welcome! That's mega mileage. 2016 with 30k miles here....
  13. Also my totally unscientific and unproven feeling that your use case don't suit a diesel. 10miles barely enough to warm up the engine regardless of motorway or not. OK in high summer but winter ....
  14. Same here I always feel my steering wheel is ever so slightly off centre to the left then going straight. Tracks straight so I just accept it.
  15. Good question because the answer is no. Initial check was cold (low level) After 300ml top up, I checked it 3 more times. Once a few mins after top up (mid level), once after parked for 8hours same day as top up (showing top level. No idea how and why...), and the most recent being 15mins after I switched off engine from full operating temp (showing mid level). I am happy that it is at mid level based on the last check😂
  16. Gosh, all these waterpump tales are making me nervous. 30k on mine now, 2016 car.... I discovered mine is consuming a bit of oil too, estimate about 3-500ml per 5k miles. Previously drove much less than that between oil services so didn't catch it. Dipstick was at min level at around 5k traveled mark and I topped up 300ml to mid level.
  17. What a timeline. Small car(couple), bigger car (small kids), big car (kids with lots of stuff), sod the kids! My assumption anyways. Excellent and enjoy the Jag
  18. Highway miles are really easy on the drivetrain. Assuming k.young was doing that. If not then he really doesn't sleep much or do anything else lol. My superb 280 only has 29k miles since 2016 but during my ownership, I had a year of very very short journeys. Not very good for the engine. It's still fine and over the 3k/year I do, no oil consumption or not noticeable
  19. I got the PS5 to replace OEM Pirellis that were cracking on the sidewalls. So far so good. My mileage is so low annually it will last me the time I will own this car. But look at tyre reviews website, it's one of the better ones for wear but assymetric 6 beats it.
  20. No. It's optional. Assuming you are talking about the dampers. Dynamic Chassis control. Adaptive cruise control ACC is standard.
  21. @MartiniB I believe the 220 dq250 has been geared longer than the 280 dq250 so it might have well been doing the same RPM/speed as the new 280 dq381. The old 280 dq250 is about 2500rpm at 110km/h in 6th gear. The 220 dq250 is about 2000rpm at 110km/h in 6th gear. Daft ratios for the 280 but it is what it is....lol
  22. Nice upgrade. Increased consumption is to be expected with more losses being AWD and a higher tuned engine. Are the tyres also wider? More friction. Moon white is a nice colour, it has a warmer look and in certain lighting conditions looks very good. It is also glossy in appearance which is rare on a white car. I swear you'd pay more as an option for this type of white on some other makes.
  23. Filled up with 46litres of Esso 99 in London (they say it's 0% ethanol) and the rest is tesco 99. E5 should get better mileage than E10 anyway. I would just use tesco 99 if possible. Occasionally I put in Esso just for fun and for the 'detergents' lol
  24. This is the final figure. I mostly travelled at 60mph (speedo) on the motorway, eco mode, no ACC this time but normally at a good safe distance behind a HGV. On the M1, there were quite a few sections where 50mph is the average speed or slow moving. Could have been better if I only driven all motorway (went into Nottingham, Leeds, York) and there wasn't a few standstill jams but overall pleased that my mission was accomplished.
