UK not GB number plates
For what pray tell? Do you think any EU country has laws that say a GB sign is an offence but a UK one isn't?

The Gendarmes use my car park to hide their vehicles when speed trapping, its a Zone 30 pedestrianised area so the limit is a little under 20 mph not that you would believe that to see how people drive. After less than 5 minutes in the early afternoon the backlog of offenders waiting to be processed fills my car park and spills out into the road, more than 3/4 of the worst offenders are young mothers and there are always 2 or 3 that are drunk in charge of their children, they are taken away and the husband or family has to come for the children. When they start kicking off its like the Jeremy Kyle show and they turn on their partners when they wisely ignore being commanded to beat up the Gendarmes. There is usually always at least one mobylette without operational brakes, lights, generally held together with string & semi dried turds with an exhaust that advertises their presence and has the G men betting with each other on the outcome before they even come into view. I used to cycle past the college & lycée (secondary school & college) as the students were being picked up, that was even richer pickings for the Gendarmes & they were frequently alcotesting there.

Probably but most people would never hear them if people did not buy into them and propogate them. But then what do I know, I have only lived there for 17 years, you will be stopped if you are speeding or committing a moving offence (99% of speeding fines arrive by post), you may be stopped together with all the other traffic for an alcotest if driving at night, in these scenarios they may ask to see your documents but unlikely in a foreign registered vehicle, if a tyre is visibly worn or dangerous you may be advised, if you are unlucky or obstinate you may even be fined. You have more chance of winning the lottery than to be stopped for any other reason or for them to go through the foreign menus of your shatnav, which by the way they have no right to do. Speed camera locations are shown as symbols on every up to date roadmap, when temporary cameras are installed or where speedtraps are being set up its always publicised in advance in the newspapers and other media, the government website also shows the locations of all the speed cameras.

It does make me laugh when I read all the fantasy reports about my country. Enforcement of any notional offence is as close to zero as to be of no consequence, voluntary compliance with the often irrational requirements is as close to 100% that enforcement is never even considered. Don't be fooled by the strikers and demonstrators, that happens even when there is nothing to demonstrate about, outside of the tolerated manifestations those same firebrands will be as god fearing and law abiding as a Nun. Having a radar detector or jammer is a different kettle of fish.

What else do you consider that they could or should do?

bumper fender defect?
Clearly? It looks to be the lower part of the wheelarch that is deformed inwards to my eyes especially when compared with the other side. The plastic trim seems in alignment with the sill trim as on the good side.

Oh No another mk2 VRS (2011) Over heating issues
90°c is the minimum desired oil operating temperature for me, it can take several miles in winter conditions to hit it The figures that you quoted before seem perfectly normal to me after a couple of months of obsessively watching the oil temperature. Other than a short run in winter conditions I look for my engine to reach and stabilise at 90°c oil temperature, it usually reaches this just before the water temp guage hits the middle position, in hot weather its higher and cruising on part throttle on a motorway would be around 100°c.

Oh No another mk2 VRS (2011) Over heating issues
At what temperature does it become a problem for the long life full synthetic VAG compatible oils. I am doing frequent removal runs with a very heavily loaded trailer with a large frontal area, car has been remapped so power no problem and on long autoroute inclines at full throttle I keep an eye on the oil temperature, it will exceed 120°c peaking at say 125°c before dropping to 110°c on the flat. On a dry sumped bike engined racecar doing endurance races on short twisty circuits like Lydden or Brands Hatch club circuit the oil cooler could not cope and the oil temp would gradually rise lap by lap, I saw 160°c before running the crankshaft bearings but the engine was doing 11000 rpm, I hope an understressed (by comparison) lazy diesel road engine at 2 - 2.5k rpm would tolerate a higher oil temperature but at what point does the oil degrade?

Post code plus house/building number will be spot on, without the latter it would probably default to the centre of the area covered. I would be very happy for my Shatnav to get me to the correct road but not the right house because I share my postcode with 12140 other dwellings and anywhere I search for is the same deal.

Oil sensor fault Octavia vRS 2019
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/B1041 Thanks for the heads up Rustynuts. My thoughts on translating the garages BS was that anyone who can (or claims to have) replace a sensor 5 times is either incompetent or not to be believed, I chose the latter when I read they used the old favorite "it must be the ECU" to make the customer go away, I very much doubt that they have replaced the cable, it is an integral part of the loom.

2021 Dacia Sandero Stepway
Of course they can travel, have you not seen all the Motorhomes queing up? They put a sign on your vehicle to alert the pompiers in the event of another fire, that is the only reason that the question is asked during the booking process, it does not say that you cannot travel with an LPG fuelled vehicle.

Saint could be Sainte or St according to the village or town, also it could be a commune of a town or a lieu dit which would only present itself as an option amongst the streets of the correct town when selected. I live in France but get incredibly frustrated trying to set my Chinese shatnav when in a different area and have to use the map to see where I am going wrong, often I am spelling the name incorrectly or have not realised its part of a larger agglomeration, sometimes it will need the hyphen if the name contains one, I have not found accents to be a problem, if you use the right letters it will present the options including accented letters.

UK not GB number plates
Why do you think they would even want to see it assuming that they would understand it? The traffic laws and fines relating to a countrys roadworthiness test certificate relate to vehicles registered in that country. If you create an offence by driving an unroadworthy vehicle, bald tyres, no exhaust, no handbrake etc you would be fined for that (or sent on your way) and not because your test certificate is 13 months old in a country where they are valid for 24 months anyway.

Bolt it on the tailgate & fit a Rhino cover! When you look at the volume that wheel is taking up the absurdity of the size of the wheels & tyres on modern cars becomes very evident. Issigonis would be turning in his grave, original Mini a family 4 seater, 5 at a pinch with younger children, spare wheel & battery located under decent sized boot which could be left open for even more luggage (hinged number plate) lots of storage under rear seats, rear parcel shelf, large rear side cubbys, even larger front door cubbys plus a full width parcel shelf across the front of the vehicle to break your shins in the event of a collision. Having seen period adverts where a family loaded for a holiday removed and laid out all their stuff from these areas I would say that the non boot storage area of the original Mini was probably double that remaining in the boot of your Karoq or any modern car. I knew someone that had one of the first Audi TT's, while under warranty he had a puncture & used the space saver wheel only to find that the punctured wheel & tyre could not be carried in the rear, it simply would not fit, he called Audi assistance and the person said that he would find a wheel protection bag in the toolkit, to put the dirty spare wheel in it and carry it on the passenger seat to the garage to have the puncture repaired, he replied "and what would you like me to do with my wife?" They sent out a breakdown van to recover the wheel & tyre, I think after that they came with simply a can of tyre repair foam.

A/C service
A completely different kettle of fish, just like a fridge the pumps & valves etc are within the sealed system no flexible hoses which permeate gas, no rotary seals to atmosphere all is encased in the steel cylinder containing the refrigerant, all pipes brazed or the connecting pipes have flared couplings, if a domestic aircon or fridge system loses charge there is a hole somewhere. The ones with the pre-filled connection coils with dry brake couplings will leak a non negligable amount through the seals and eventually need recharging, the O rings and flexible hoses that the gas companies use on their equipment cost mega money.

Fabia Mk2 Monte Carlo 1.6TDI - Car shifting to the right
If the front crossmember has been removed to replace the clutch (not sure if thats the case on your vehicle) or for any other reason, or the rear subframe then they need very carefull aligning to avoid crabbing. I thought that I had taken every effort to line up the dirt marks under the clamping washers on mine but I could almost drive it looking through the side window , I aligned it using a pair of laser spirit levels mounted on the front & rear wheels using adaptor plates (wood battens cut to length & tywraps) a tiny movement moves the laser pointer a massive amount at the mid line of the car. I assume when you are holding the wheel to go in a straight trajectory then the steering wheel is centralised with the spokes equal angles either side of 12 O clock, it could be that someone has moved the wheel on its splines to hide the crabbing and the pull to the right. At rest turn the wheel from lock to lock, if the wheel spokes on L & R lock are not in the mirror image position of the other lock then either something is bent or more likely the front, possibly rear crossmember misaligned.

New used Yeti owner, haldex spin on launch?
Thats a thought! I have never felt its intervention at any other time but with 4WD I guess it wouldn't, not even sure that I have that 3 letter acronym as most of the others are absent. I will have to go airborn and plant the throttle to see what happens, let's hope it doesn't react like the 205 T16!
