  1. And they will no doubt want to charge you for an investigation saying no fault (codes) found 😀
  2. Drivers front door loop will have fractured wires inside. Unless perchance the door in question is in regular use in which case check there as well.
  3. Only during the gearshift or when its under power in 3rd gear? What about downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear?
  4. Yep, Phil is living on borrowed time. I repeat again, the OP claims that the clutch pedal feels fine.
  5. Oh yes, I know that bracket only too well. A nice quick video that concentrates on the important bits, I have some comments as I did mine a different way and having looked at the video I think it saved me time and grief compared to his method but the weight of the gearbox and transfer box was huge at 68kg and I was doing it from a pit without a transmission jack. I did not remove the steering rack, I unbolted it from the subframe and left it hanging. I did not remove the transfer case, that bolt is all but impossible, leaving it in place meant I did not have to remove the DPF and did not lose any gearbox oil, there was still one bolt related to that plate which was a pig though. I did not have to refill the gearbox oil. The clutch will self bleed by gravity in seconds, it would take him far longer to set up and use the suction bleeder. The way he shook the flywheel to show that it was knackered is not the way to test them, the new one would rotate in exactly the same manner, many many have been sent back by mechanics thinking the new one was faulty because they did not know the correct way to test the later DMF's, I too thought y new one was shot but consulted Docteur Youtube! I have no doubt the old DMF was knackered and the flywheel face was blued anyway, the pressure plate on mine had dished and was only applying force to the outside of the driven plate, it had worn tapered as a result.
  6. They wont do anything, they want you to go and spend loads of money with at one of their "Authorised Fitting Centres" in the belief that the tyres will be sent back carriage paid for an inspection, if you go to the tyre place the next day you will find them in the skip with all the others although with 5mm of tread they will probably go to a part worn seller. You can guess what the response from Bridgestone will be after their supposed inspection 🙄 although if the tyre place tells them that they really were bad (which yours aint) and you had new Bridgestones fitted they might give you a rebate. Tell them that you have already had them removed and you have them ready for their FOC collection and see how quick they backtrack.
  7. That would seem an impossibility together with acknowledging what they have already said.
  8. It was a joke, I was (mis)quoting the words of another contributor. Safe in the knowledge that he would not have recalled using them 😀
  9. No forests in the outback where people would be raising cattle. Now if you had used the Blue Mountains as your example and not mentioned cattle then you would not have looked daft.
  10. Tree dwelling cattle in the desert?
  11. I cannot picture that scene 😀 And yet I so need something to prevent me from sleeping at night! 😄
  12. That should give them something to laugh about, they will probably stick it on the wall with the others. Seriously, what response would you expect to that question?
  13. Nothing to see, quite normal now that tyres are made from recycled diddlydidos. Not faulty, not illegal, just the shoîte that is sold these days.
  14. Shame you still cant see the engine under all the other K-rap! The last time I ever went to the Motor Show would have been around 1992, I tagged along with a coach trip, 2 things stuck with me, you could no longer see the engines of the majority of cars, they all had engine covers plus other random plastic bits covering anything of interest to me, you could not even see the inner wings on many, there was little point in them having the bonnets open to display plastic. Second thing was that Ford no longer sold any executive or larger vehicles the Granada had been dropped and nothing replaced it (the Galaxy arrived some time later), also all the staff and representatives on the stand wore shirts without a tie and no jackets, very informal compared to previous years and all the other manufacturers, a very different selling atmosphere more like talking to a neighbour in their garden, I dont know whether it was the start of a trend or other manufacturers followed suit as it was the last time I had any interest whatever in new cars.
  15. The camera does not lie, especially when the image is enlarged, the bottom lip of the cill is sitting on the wood (the manufacturers jack crutch straddles it) and it projects beyond at least 3" (now I know the timber size) before going out of frame so it is underneath the plastic underguard not the cill trim, I was not trying to be funny but I thought and now I am all the more certain, that you may not know of its existence, I didn't, I thought it was the floorpan so was not worried that my jack crutch with 5" diameter rubber pad extended underneath it until I heard the ominous cracking. I do not wish anyone else to make the mistakes that I have done, this one after half a century of complacency. I mean WTF, a plastic underguard protecting nothing on the side I broke!
  16. I dont see how something can "eliminate" water content unless it goes through some kind of seperation equipment, otherwise the water remains in the system perhaps in a different form.
  17. A great engine, so simple yet gave economy equal to anything I have driven since that has been dripping with electronic wizardry, mine ran really well when dosed with a small amount of petrol, I had recovered a tankfull of petrol with some diesel from when a friend misfuelled his diesel van, it made my neighbours lawmower as sick as a dog but 5 litres added to a full tank of diesel (after it had consumed enough to make space) made it run very smoothly and gave better MPG.
  18. Positive Mental Attitude. As an exception that is the only one of your dumb rhetorical questions that I will answer
  19. Are you a politician?
  20. There was an amusing (in hindsight) period where I kept getting stupid postings for some bl00dy kitten rescue centre in the USA, nothing I did would stop them, eventually I found that in my first attempt at blocking them my fat fingers had actually followed them 😄
  21. Fessbook? The algorithm has you down as vulnerable. I have to begrudgingly use it, the local buying and selling groups have been of great benefit but I dont click on anything else, I have no Fessbook Friends, I follow nobody and dont award "likes" or make any comments. I did initially look at a couple of things then it became clear that my feed was getting full of similar stuff, I then started deleting or pausing or whatever it would let me do with any adverts that did come up and they reduced to nothing, after a couple of resumptions where I did exactly the same I have not seen anything in my feed that is not a posting from one of the selling groups that I joined, no adverts, "no recommended for you" no scammers no political influencers nothing at all in the last 4 months.
  22. "Unique Worldwide" Are you allowed to say things like that about the Irish?
  23. Why is your concern only regarding Outback Farmers, they will be the last people in the world to be reliant on public charging, they will already be keeping their fuel tanks topped off, carrying spares, wheels, tools, water and survival equipment. They will do exactly the same when they have EV's to maximise their savings from the free solar energy They also know how to walk and protect themselves from natural hazards. Its the numpties living in flats etc with no home charging, those that frequently run out of petrol and diesel and then call the breakdown services that are at risk, Darwin in action, pun intended. Good to see you have some self awareness.
