185/60R15 steel rims ... and Vredenstein tyres.
The Fabia MK3 uses either 256mm diameter front brake discs or 288mm diameter front brake discs. The Fabia MK3 uses 288mm diameter front brake discs if the engine has at least 105PS. For models with less than 105PS, the Fabia MK3 uses 256mm diameter front brake discs. 14" steel rims will clear the front brake calipers on cars that have 256mm diameter front brake discs. 15" steel rims will clear the front brake calipers on car that have 288mm diameter front brake discs.

Oct 3: local MOT needed - enhance the brakes ?
My preference is ATE over Brembo discs. The wavy line on the ATE discs look like a better design. If you follow the wavy line on the ATE disc, you will see that there is no break in the line. Surely kinder to the brake pads than the broken Brembo design. Also, ATE is now owned by Continental tyres and for me German brakes over Italian brakes is an easy choice. 288mm ATE front disc https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ate/958238 288mm Brembo front disc https://www.autodoc.co.uk/brembo/1657443

Mk II Octy Estate - Variable rate springs OTHER than Bilstein??
Fitting bump stops with a height of 105mm instead of the correct 133mm ones seems a bit extreme as that's 28mm more suspension travel. The car's not made to have that much suspension travel. There's a risk of damage to various parts of the car including the shock absorber, wheelarch, etc. You might get lucky and not damage anything, but there's a risk. I would have considered 118mm bump stops from the lowered/sports suspension models (ie. 15mm lower suspension) including the RS models. 118mm bump stop 3C0511359B (2) 3C0 511 359 B stop buffer D - 02.05.2006>> 118MM round 2 https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2007-419/5/511-511021/#2 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/febi-bilstein/1881025 133mm bump stop 3C0511359 (2) 3C0 511 359 stop buffer D - 03.05.2006>> 133MM 2 https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2007-419/5/511-511001/ https://www.autodoc.co.uk/topran/7066868

Brake Disc Size
On the Octavia MK3, the 288mm front discs are matched to the smallest 253mm rear discs. 276mm front discs are also matched to these small 253mm rear discs. 312mm front discs are matched to the bigger 272mm rear discs. By changing from 288mm front discs to 312mm, your front and rear disc sizes will be mismatched. 288mm front discs weigh about 7.3kg each, and 312mm front discs weigh about 8.6kg each. So by changing 288mm front discs to 312mm, you are adding about 2.6kg of unsprung weight to the front of the car. Skoda are very careful not to fit brakes that are too big or heavy for the car due to the increase in unsprung weight and increase in fuel consumption. The Skoda Scala 1.5TSI 150PS only uses 276x24mm front brake discs. 276x24mm front discs weigh about 6.5kg each, so are even lighter than the 7.3kg 288x25mm front discs. The Skoda Scala is a lighter car than the Octavia MK3, but the 288x25mm front discs are up to the job on the Octavia MK3 just like the 276x24mm front discs are up to the job on the most powerful versions of the Skoda Scala. Most versions of the Skoda Scala use smaller 256x22mm front discs which only weigh about 5.1kg each.

At what tread depth do you change tyres?
Above 0 degrees Centigrade, the Vredestein Quatracs work better than the Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres. For tyre sizes such as 225/45R17 and 225/40R18, the Vredestein Quatrac Pros are still available, which work better in the summer than most all-season tyres. If you're using summer tyres all year round, it will be easy to get caught out in the winter as summer tyres don't have the 3PMSF symbol. In the summer fitting UHP summer tyres may give you 10% more grip. However, come winter it will be easy to lose 50% of your grip with the wrong tyres. This means that you can gain a little in the summer, but lose a lot in the winter. If you use summer tyres in the summer, change to winter or all-season tyres in the winter. In the winter you really do need that 3PMSF symbol, as you never know when it might snow.

The Skoda online parts catalogues only show one pair of front brake calipers for the 288mm discs on the Octavia MK3, whether it's an early 2013 car or a late 2021 car. 2013 Octavia MK3 with 288mm front brake discs Left caliper 8V0615123 Right caliper 8V0615124 1 8V0 615 123 brake caliper housing left 1 (1) 8V0 615 124 brake caliper housing right 1 https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2013-753/6/615-615020/ 2021 Octavia MK3 with 288mm front brake discs 1 8V0615123 Brake caliper housing left 1 1 8V0615124 Brake caliper housing right 1 https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/OCT/805/6/615/615020 TRW may have used different OEM part numbers for the front brake calipers on the 288mm and 312mm discs because that enables TRW to charge more for the 312mm version, even though they appear to be the same. This is due to market forces, where there's a price premium for calipers that fit bigger discs. Put the same calipers (except for the OEM part number) in different boxes, one marked 288mm and one marked 312mm. Then charge about 28% more for the 312mm versions. It makes great business sense for TRW. I haven't noticed ATE doing similar underhand tactics. They put the same OEM part number on their 288mm and 312mm calipers, and charge the same price. The Octavia MK3 1.6 110PS uses the smallest 276mm front discs and 253mm rear discs. Some of the other lower powered models also use these size brakes.

184PS TDI Vs 150PS TDI - Physical/Mechanical differences?
dtintecno.de claims a 150PS/320Nm maps to 195PS/430Nm, and a 184PS/380Nm maps to 220PS/450Nm. So the 184PS can remap to about 12.5% more power than a 150PS, but the increase in torque is only about 5%. Again, according to dtintecno.de the 184PS remaps to the same power and torque as the 190PS and 200PS versions of the 2.0TDI.

Oct 3: local MOT needed - enhance the brakes ?
You may be correct in your assumption of the 1.4TSI having 288mm front discs, and the 1.8T having 312mm front discs, although I would check the build codes or measure them to be sure of what is fitted. Pre-facelift, both the petrol and diesel RS models used 340mm front discs and 272mm solid rear discs. Post-facelift, the diesel RS dropped down to 312mm front discs, and the 245HP petrol RS went up to 310mm ventilated rear brake discs.

Oct 3: local MOT needed - enhance the brakes ?
What front brakes are fitted depends on the car's build codes. Build code 1ZE is for the 288x25 front brake discs. Build code 1ZA is for the 312mm front brake discs. Although both these are TRW brake systems, the 288mm and 312mm brake systems have different OEM part numbers listed for the front brake calipers. However, the front brake pads are interchangeable between the 288mm and 312mm brake calipers which would suggest the 288mm and 312mm brake calipers are very similar. Suspension
One inch is a big increase in ride height. When you order a new Skoda with increased ride height, it's normally about a 15mm increase from the standard ride height. When you order a new Skoda with sports/lowered suspension, it's normally about a 15mm decrease from the standard ride height. Do you need AT (All-Terrain) tyres for going down rough lanes? AT tyres are only readily available in certain sizes, so this could affect which size tyres to fit. If you wanted AT tyres and you have 288mm front brake discs (these are the smallest size on the Superb MK2), 205/70R15 would be a possibility and would raise your ride height by about 15mm. In combination with 15mm increased ride height springs, that's an increase in ride height of about 30mm. camskill list both Bridgestone and Yokohama AT tyres in size 205/70R15 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m53b0s2481p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_15_inch_R15_inch_-_205_70_15_205_70R15 Unlike ordinary summer tyres, AT tyres give traction in wet mud. Yokohama AT tyres are also available in size 215/60R16, and that size would also raise the ride height by about 15mm compared to the standard 205/55R16 size. camskill list Yokohama AT tyres in size 215/60R16 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m62b0s111p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_16_inch_R16_inch_-_215_60_16_215_60R16

Will mk1 Octavia vRS wheel fit onto 5J Fabia?
The rim will fit. The tyre won't fit, as the outside diameter of a 205/50R17 or 225/45R17 tyre is too big for the Fabia MK2. If you use a 205/40R17 tyre, the ride will be really hard, and the rim will have little protection from pothole damage. If the seller is selling the wheels with 205/40R17 tyres already fitted, some of the rims might already be buckled from pothole damage. If you fit them to the car and they vibrate, the seller might blame you for buckling them rather than admitting (and refunding you) that they were already buckled. So if you do really want 17" rims, make sure they were previously only used with 205/50R17 or 225/45R17 tyres, as these have much bigger sidewalls and are therefore much more resistant to pothole damage. Why do you want to raise the ride height? How much do you want to raise the car? Have you checked your current ride height? Sometimes, just fitting new springs/shocks to replace old sagging springs/shocks will raise the ride height back to the factory height. What are the OEM part numbers for the factory fit springs? If you've got the car's build codes, this is easy to find out by reference to a Skoda online parts catalogue such as 7zap. Skoda online parts catalogue https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/ Have you considered oversize tyres such as 215/55R16, 205/60R16, 215/60R16, etc.

Pads
The 312mm front brakes discs on the Octavia VRS MK2 are part of an ATE front brake system. I would therefore put ATE at the top of my shortlist when it comes to new brake pads. How can I soften the ride on my Octy vRS mk2?
They are Toronto rims as shown below. If you want a spare, it makes sense to match the 6.5Jx16 ET46 specification, rather than the Octavia MK2 6.5Jx16 ET50 specification. The change in offset from ET50 to ET46 will move the centre of each wheel 4mm further out in the wheelarch. Space saver tyre and rim size
The 205/55R16 fitted to a 6.5Jx16 ET50 rim should fit in the spare wheel well. If you get a puncture, you will need somewhere to put the punctured wheel. The Octavia MK2 didn't come with a 125/70R18 space saver. If you fit a 125/70R18 space saver you have pressure to get the punctured tyre mended quickly. By using a 205/55R16 as a spare tyre, you can take your time. There's no cost saving in using a space saver, as they usually cost more than a standard 205/55R16. Skoda 1.6 TDI rims and tyres
The outside diameter of 205/55R16 is too big for the Fabia MK2. Maybe try 185/65R14 on 6Jx14 ET37 rims. It's a cheap tyre size and very comfortable. 6Jx14 ET37 steel rims https://eshop.skoda-auto.cz/cs_CZ/kola--rafky/c/wheelsAndRims?q=%3AscoreDesc%3AcarType%3AFabia%2BII%2B%282010-2014%29%3ArimDiameter%3A14%22&text=# Wheel trims for 6Jx14 ET37 steel rims
