12v socket and dashcam power feed issue
Only just got my Karoq so I haven't looked yet but in a previous VW there are two slots for the fuse, one which is permanent live and one is ignition live. I looked in the handbook today and I think this might be the case for the Karoq but I didn't move the fuse to try it. I'm keen to see how people have routed their cables for the dash camera. Any advice?

Parking light?
Parking lights are normally activated by hitting the indicator before leaving the car. Any chance that's being done by accident?

Well bye bye Octavia
Infotainment looks like my old Passat rather than the new Octavia but time will tell. I'll see how I get on with it anyway. Worst case I count down the days until I can get back in an Octavia 🤣 I looked at Ateca but no 2.0 tsi anymore so it was either a Cupra or the Karoq. Living in Cumbria nearest Cupra is a good drive away so decision made. I'll have to update people after a few weeks. Karoq has the panoramic roof which is nice.

Well bye bye Octavia
I have to say my biggest concern is that I too will prefer the Octavia, but I live in Cumbria so the height will be useful on flooded roads. 4 wheel drive might be helpful on occasions. Plus I'm really not sure I want to own the Octavia out of warranty. I have loved almost every minute with the Octavia, came close to getting rid over the SOS issues 18 months ago! Here's a picture of the new one.

Well bye bye Octavia
Thanks. The Octavia is stunning. Sportline Karoq in meteor grey.

What do I have to finger to turn on Laura?
Maybe you've abused her too often so she needs a rest? 3 years and I've never used it!

Dashcam recommendation
I've got a Garmin mini, nice and discrete.

Well bye bye Octavia
Well it's been a blast and I've enjoyed almost every minute of it, but I've seen an offer that's too good to turn down on a Karoq so the Octavia will be going soon. Looking forward to something a little taller so I don't have to worry quite as much in gravel car parks or going through floods. Little picture of the Octavia doing what it does best. I hope the Karoq is just as good at swallowing kit and lugging stuff around.

Just ordered
Well I thought I should introduce myself in this side of the forum. Had an Octavia for the last 3 years but just pulled the plug on a Karoq. Any must have accessories? I canoe and kayak. Normally have a boot liner but suspect I don't need it as it's got a reversible floor. Any advice on boot still protectors? I'll add pictures when I get it.

Driving without the engine cover
No difference whatsoever for me

Driving without the engine cover
Mate most of us have been driving without an engine cover for 12 months as Skoda took them back on a recall last year.

VRS Brake Upgrades
How did you replace the rear pads? Looking online seems to suggest you need vcds or similar.

Has anyone put 19inch vrs alloys on standard skoda octavia iv se technology that has 16inch alloys
I'd imagine the vrs set up will be ok. I think most people want to go smaller with the state of our roads at the minute!

Pop pop,SOS
Climate control sync has always been an issue. As Dave says it works if you adapt the left one. Clearly someone hasn't ticked a box to invert the feature for us in the UK

Pop pop,SOS
Mine has just been back to Skoda. Got it back last Wednesday and so far no pop pop. 🤞 They've sorted it.

vRS roof rack for bike/roof box - scratched rails?
Don't worry about it and use the car. I've got a few scratches on mine but they're still black. Think you'd have to be really deep to see silver and them look bad.

Snow - How to turn of traction in the Mk4 menus?
If you press the set button it's in there I think. I was looking the other day

Travelling by Ferry
Manual seems to suggest interior monitoring and towing detection are both disabled https://digital-manual.skoda-auto.com/w/en_GB/show/2e38c44e697f520585470f03e5c21d4b_7_en_GB?ct=2e38c44e697f520585470f03e5c21d4b_7_en_GB

Just turn off interior monitoring and it should be Ok I think. I've done that in the past and not aware of an issue

Pop pop,SOS
Feel a bit sorry for the dealership in all of this but I'm guessing if it keeps being pushed then they'll come up with a solution. My biggest issue is having to take it to the dealership costing me time, money and adding miles to the car every time it goes in.

Pop pop,SOS
OK where are people up to with this. My car has been in today almost 12 months after the issue initially occurred on my 70 plate Octavia vRS and the dealership don't know where to go next. Everything that they have been advised to do has been done and the fault still exists. I'm getting to the point where I'm seriously questioning what I can do to change the car, even had that discussion at the dealership today.
