  1. Hello guys! What aftermarket shocks do you recommend for a 2.0TDI vRS?
  2. I don't know why it can't be fixed? Mine is booked in for pistons replacement in November. If all the other parts of the engine are ok, why change the entire engine? if the pistons / piston rings are the problem.
  3. Would that draw power when vehicle is turned off? I was a fan of that usb port because I know it is not powered when car is turned off.
  4. Hello! Is it possible to use the usb port below the air con for powering up a magsafe charger? Would like to hear some opinions before buying an adapter ( the charger is usbc)
  5. DPF Removal has nothing to do with it. Might be your piston rings. Mine's also drinking up more oil than yours.
  6. Can it harm the gearbox in any way if I don't always downshift in manual mode and let it do it's thing? I find it quite difficult and messy to downshift when hard breaking or similar situations.
  7. I've always wondered how some guys get those insane mileage between regens (some state 500kms or more) since the calculated value just climbs steadily and barely drops on passive regens ?

Does anybode know what's the actual difference between PS and Primacy? In reviews they look pretty even.
  9. That's why I mentioned that no passive regen is happening (even if I drive it in 1st gear, 3000RPM, 20km/h, it starts dropping). During a passive regen, Soot Mass Calculated also drops. The problem is that if I drive it like a granny, the mileage between regens drops by around 50%, and is triggered by Soot Mass Measured and not Soot Mass Calculated. Also, when turning on the engine for the first time (engine cold), this value also rises by about 1g in a few hundred meters. Something seems off to me, just can't figure out what.
  10. I have noticed something rather strange about 'Soot Mass Measured' levels while watching the value for a longer time. So it goes like this: Value rising way quicker than 'Soot Mass Calculated' during normal drive and as soon as I keep driving above 2600-3000RPM, the value starts going down ( no passive regen happening ! EGT below 370-400 deg Celsius ). Any idea why this might be happening?
  11. They're probably only offering chemical cleaning via the oxygen sensor port, which is rubbish. Have you talked to them about taking the dpf off and cleaning it on a special machine by also adding some chemical compound but also 'punching' water through the dpf? This method, will blow out the ash out of the filter. https://youtu.be/9ArCULoxnhc?t=274
  12. Is that picture at tickover? Or while driving? If it's at tickover, the differential pressure is HUGE. Mine never gets past 35-40 hPa ( and this would be at 100% DPF load ). After a regen it sits at around 6-12hPA. All values that I've mentioned are at tickover ( 750 rpm stationary)
  13. Cleaning can also be done with pressure washing. No harsh chemicals involved. EDIT: Disclaimer->As far as I know.
  14. Selling the car with a blocked DPF should be made illegal... If it's not very expensive, I'd suggest straight up cleaning it first, since it won't do it any harm considering the mileage.
  15. My car had problems starting up due to a worn out battery.
  16. If these are what you're talking about, then no. No coding required. I've replaced the OEM xenons in my car with these and it's a huge improvement. ( my old xenons were probably almost 'dead' )
  17. Have been in exactly the same situation, with warranty covering only the engine and gearbox and having a blocked DPF. What is triggering the regens is the soot mass measured, that cannot be seen in the current selected engine group ( you see NOX sulfur charge instead). Go to settings, and choose Custom Engine Group ( Group 0) and you will be able to see why those soot jumps happen. As for a fix, you will 100% need a DPF clean, which depending on where you live, might be expensive or relatively cheap. Also, does your car use any abnormal quantity of oil ? Since the DPF shouldn't be blocked at that mileage. And did someone fiddle with the values on your DPF? It shows 0.0g of Ash which is only valid for a new DPF.
  18. I wouldn't do that. I don't think the 5W-40 meets the 507 standard. You might want to look into this topic
  19. In the current market, I think repairing it is better. Cars are 20% more expensive nowadays.
  20. I was also thinking about checking the turbo. Mine also behaves exactly as you describe. Around 800km on highway or more in daily use. I highly doubt your DPF is regenerating at such high intervals. Keep us posted if you check the turbo.
  21. Another reason for taking the whole assembly off the car and inspect it
  22. That's not proper DPF cleaning. The DPF should be taken out of the vehicle and pressure cleaned using a special machine designed for this. I also tend to think it's dpf related, since the backpressure can mess up the turbo.
  23. You can use VAG DPF app together with an ELM327 Bluetooth device
  24. Is anyone running an oil catch can for the 2.0 TDI engine? If so, can you point me to where I could get one that fits.
  25. The 70mai hardware kit does have low voltage protection for 11.6V/23.5V.
