  1. That's where the headlight level switch goes on non-xenon / LED cars. It will pop out from behind. There's a trick to removing the headlight switch to make that easier. The little storage door drops down and can be fully removed. There's a surprising amount of space in there. I think you'd need to run the feed across to the fuse box on the nearside, or connect into the USB supply in the centre console ETA that's also where your obd port is, so you could use an obd to USB power adapter. it'll be permanently live though
  2. Unfortunately the double sided rubber / carpet item appears to be out of stock all through the UK. Ive ordered a reversible / fold out one from skoda which also protects the back seats and the bumper. I'll take a photo of it installed later
  3. We must have the only two sold in the country! It was between emerald green and dragon green when I ordered mine.
  4. Anyone with Thule Aerobars able to confirm if there's enough clearance to open the sunroof when fitted?
  5. Yeah it doesnt quite run like a sewing machine. There is no plastic cover on the head, so I assume that might let out a bit more noise. My GTE had an internal 'soundaktor' which only played sports noises in GTE mode. In sport mode on the IV I don't notice it at all so either my car doesn't have the internal one or it's been turned down massively. I'd pull the fuse and see what error it throws?
  6. The external e-noise does sound like a rattly old diesel, but it's only used when in e-mode. The 1.4 is also pretty gruff when you lean on it, but the gearing does settle it down once you've reached your speed
  7. Mine was about two weeks between transfer to port and being delivered to the dealer
  8. Reserve and Battery Hold are similar. Reserve lets you set the battery percentage you want it to hold at. Eg if set at 20% it'll use it up until it gets to 20. Or it'll charge it up to 20 if it's empty
  9. 40-45mpg at a steady cruise. If you hit traffic it'll rise further as the lower speeds and coasting aid the economy figure. Someone will be along shortly to tell you how they get 190mpg by not using the heater in the winter 🥶
  10. Ditto the above, the only downside of slow charging I can see is that you probably spend a good chunk more because of the heat loss over a longer period
  11. You'll find a lot of the technical information on your iV powertrain at this guide: https://manualzz.com/doc/32766336/ssp-537---the-golf-gte It's for the 2013 golf GTE but the mechanicals are identical
  12. I don't know. If it's been disabled I notice very quickly into the journey, are you sure you car doesn't creep? I can't remember if mine does it not, I think it does?
  13. If you put your foot on the brake itll always illuminate the brake lights with ignition on. I pull on the handbrake at night because they can be blinding, especially the dynamic tailight on the passat, they're blinding
  14. If you pull the handbrake on it'll turn off the brake lights. I do this sometimes at night if there's a car behind
  15. This person has an IV. These gearboxes have three clutches, 2 in the gearbox as normal plus another which engages or disengages the ICE from the DSG. When stopped, nothing in the gearbox will be spinning so there'll be no wear. When you set off the motion is provided by the e-motor. If you have an empty traction battery, the third clutch engages to use the e-motor to start the ICE a second after, whilst still driving the wheels. These don't have an alternator, the 12v battery is topped up from the traction battery. TLDR: leave it in D
  16. New IV owner here, coming from a Passat GTE. One difference I've found is the superb seems to have way more punch in e mode than the Passat. The superb however is delivering fewer mi/kWh on electric only, which I'm hoping improves somehow? Have also noticed the superb limits minimum charge to 50%, whereas the Passat allowed up to around 80/90. I'm guessing they learned 50% was optimum for battery health?
  17. Have they changed the design of these on the superb recently? I've just taken delivery of mine this week (sans heated jets) but the fan / spray pattern and output is much better than my 2017 Passat
  18. New owner, took delivery this week. Pretty happy with the colour!
  19. It makes more sense. Their current approach is to part-build and the cars go into storage until the bits arrive. The wait will be the same, but they don't have the additional cost and logistics of retrieving cars, fitting the extra bits and going through a second round of Quality control?
  20. I'd take that asap to the dealer if it's under warranty. You don't want to convince yourself it's fine only for the motors to fail or the gears to strip a week after the warranty expires. I had a full sunroof cassette replacement on my Passat (assume identical sunroof) under warranty because the motors were struggling and there was popping similar to that sound when it was being retracted
  21. Does the pre-installed feed run all the way to the bonnet?
  22. Hi @ERIK99 I think you might be confusing the charging current with something else, that should be for charging via the port. I'm the mib 2 Passat the options were various currents in amps, to allow you to use a variety of household outlets. On the mib 3 superb they've dummed it down to those phrases instead, but I don't think it affects regen when driving at all
  23. Arrived today. No obvious build quality issues, but unfortunately a number of scratches where it looks like the dealer polished it with a rock. Theres also a weird pumping / vibration resonance with the ignition on. It seems to drive fine so assuming that's normal!
  24. Final update on mine, ordered 08/09 February, being delivered tomorrow 04 October. Here's hoping I don't regret the left field colour choices after 8 months!
  25. Top it up with water to minimum, then fill to max with stuff at the correct concentration. Personally I wouldn't worry as long as you can see fluid in the bottle, but it's not my car!
