  1. Only good color on an otherwise quite ordinary (though in a good way) car. Never seen it on an estate with my own eyes, would love one.
  2. H&R front & rear sway bars on my 280 (now 380, pun intended) and It made the car even good fun on a track, nevermind a fun A or B road. Takes away 90% of the floatyness. Next step would be KW DCC coilovers but I don't think its worth the cost. Anyway, plenty of in-depth information available on the forum.
  3. If you need the backseat and boot space, I'd take a Superb any time of the day. If you don't, I wouldn't hesitate and take the Golf. Even though the platform is the same the Golf is a much much better ride.
  4. I doubt its anything to do with changes to coding. The OEM battery is garbage so getting 4 years out of it is pretty good. I changed my 2017 Superbs battery already last winter but I also live in a very cold Nordic climate.
  5. Drove me mad for a while too. Now I occassionally shut off the lights for the moment where I am gonna pull the lever for washing the windscreen. Works good.
  6. Friend is in a situation where he needs a new corporate car and enquired for a new Octavia or Superb. Both have ~1 year of waiting time if ordered now. Completely unheard of just a year or two ago for a SKODA, now the new normal
  7. Yes, stage 1 ECU and TCU tune. Further tunes not worth it considering the current mileage (nearly 100k miles) on it.
  8. Matter of a few weeks at most, so very very recent.
  9. MY21 VAG ECU's (Cupra Ateca, Formentor, Volkswagen Arteon / Golf, Skoda Superb etc) have not been cracked yet so can't really be properly tuned. This was feedback when a friend wanted to get his Formentor tuned.
  10. I'm not from the UK so I have my own local (very big VAG and BMW tuning company, also other large brands) tuner who did my DSG + TCU tune and now it is at 283 kw / 379 bhp. Went from 5.8 -> 4.7s 0-100km/h but those numbers are with a full tank, my 140kg (310 pounds) body and my 40kg dog crate in the back and not the best condition Michelin PS4's. Realistically I reccon the time could probably be another ~0.4 seconds better.
  11. The Superb seats are very comfy no doubt, especially the L&K ones, but I do think that for someone with a tiny frame, they could get uncomfortable due to the fact that they have absolutely no sidebolstering. You should probably look at a Sportline package that has the very good "bucket" seats.
  12. Took a first trip to the track with updated ECU and updated swaybars, the way the car now moves after stage 1 and sway bars is amazing. With better brake fluid (the OEM Dot 4 fluid is garbage) and upgraded rear brakes it will manage consistent quick driving alot better. Already felt a big difference in front brakes going from OEM to proper Brembo discs and pads. Might even get the brake lines upgraded. If my shocks ever start failing will definetly also switch to Bilstein DCC ones. Only did one 20 minute session today because I had my puppy with me (kept the Variocage in the car when I went for a session and it stayed in its spot perfectly!) so did not time it but on the straights Porsche 718's werent really able to keep up with me. Had a good friend drive on the passenger seat and said that the car now definetly is in the same league as a Leon Cupra in terms of handling and most likely quicker on straights. The specific Leon Cupra has RS3 and Golf GTI brakes, armored brake hoses etc so braking is still a weak spot compared to the Leon. Super satisfied with the 280, I can fit my fat-ass frame at 6'6, put in my big landseer puppy in the back, have her be comfortably in the safety cage while driving spiritedly on the A & B roads too. No pics of the car from yesterday but here's a puppy to cheer up the day
  13. Got the 280 stage 1 tuned. First of was very surprised (but not unheard of) that Skoda underrates the engine clearly. It should be 280 bhp but stock dynod at 226kw / 304bhp and then got a gain of 57kw so now it is 283kw / 380 bhp. Will measure with Dragy 0-100km/h, 0-200km/h, 100-200 and 1/4 & 1/2 mile times soon to compare to reference point at stock.
  14. I am 198cm so 6ft6 and have a SUPER upright position for driving (my friend who is 5ft7 can use the same uprightness of the seats and have perfect seating position) and I have very good headroom, I even fitted with a helmet for race track. It seems you really might not have the correct seating position in terms of what is available from adjustment side. Or an unproportionally long torso...
  15. The DCC suspension in comfort is stupidly bouncy and wobbly, if that is standard without DCC, then it is an absolutely ****show of a suspension.
  16. The 280 bhp version is strong contender for best bang-for-buck in my books with cars such as VW Arteon, Passat estate, Leon Cupra Estate, pretty much all have the EA888 engine and also Kia Stinger (more performance, less cargo / rear space). I definetly prefer the EA888 with its DSG boxes due to the easy tuning potential with a remap. The only problem the Superb has is very floaty suspension but a rather inexpensive sway bar upgrade fixed most of that.
  17. Just incase anyone ever needs info: I tested the Single L+, Single XL, Double L+ and Double XL, I ended up going with Double L+ because I do want to use the compartment under the boot floor occassionally, XL requires to drop it permanently. Feel alot safer with our landseer puppy in the boot now, as similar to the previous poster, I also had enormous anxiety in regards to protecting my dog if anything ever happens. Luckilly into the Double L+ our familys australian shepherd also fits together with the landseer so will be very good in the long term.
  18. I went with H&R from https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/collections/skoda-performance-parts/products/h-r-volkswagen-skoda-front-and-rear-anti-roll-bar-arteon-passat-tiguan-superb-iii-estate and the result is absolutely night and day compared to stock. Stock is like a floaty boat and the stiffer sway bars are definetly a must have.
  19. Yesterday I had my Superb's first service done in my ownership, at 143500km and also got front + rear sway bars installed, which made a huge difference, as well as upgraded footrest and pedals from superskoda. The sway bars made a huge difference in handling and body roll, which was the only complaint I had compared to my previous car, a Kia Stinger, and the upgraded footrest and pedals just are a better feel in general. Also found out that my previous ice track adventure and one bigger roadtrip with friends and their 10 cars meant that I now have worn out rest of the 40% I had left on front brake pads and discs so need to get them changed, considering getting a combination of TRW / Zimmermann / Brembo combination in some way. Now I need to decide whether I want summer rims in 19" or just swap out the 18"s to summers and then the car is ready to get tuned to stage 1.
  20. Considering how the splitter is fitted there, I would even bet that the extra 'wedge' doesn't actually play a role in fitment..
  21. Getting mine changed at about 5 years old, don't know when it started malfunctioning slightly but it definetly did when I bought it. Costs pretty much nothing to change and a quick search on the forums showed plenty of topics on this subject so seems to be a reoccuring thing across the model range with KESSYs.
  22. It will definetly need a more beautiful set of wheels though
  23. Considering the cost of the things you want to retrofit, how much cheaper is it compared to just buying a fully loaded 280?
  24. I saw quite a few good fitments here at 8.5" with ET35, I am looking at Japan Racing SL01's and they are available in ET32 and ET45. As the stock wheels run ET44 and do not have a good fitment, I would be aiming to go for ET32. Does anyone have a set that they run with ET32 rather than 35? Thinking of how big the difference would be in terms of visual and suspension clearance (if lowered also).
  25. Slightly offtopic but you mentioned fitting aftermarket shocks without lowering the car. Are those available on a large scale level for the Superb 3? Would be very interesting to get a slightly more stiff suspension without the lowering aspect.
