  1. Aye it's needing me to actually spend the whole day there. For that to happen, it needs to be a bit less '****in roastin pal'... Oh it's trying alright!... oh, that's not quite what you meant...
  2. No... that'd be too sensible. I can't hear the pump priming either. Need to get some fresh fuel for it still, but it was doing this carry on even when the fuel (and the car) were a bit younger.
  3. Well it's about time I got off my arse and did something... chucked the battery from a Granvia on it, perfect fit. Turned the key, and... fcsnonstart.mp4 I tried bashing on and around the pump area with a small (large) hammer on both the top and bottom of the fuel tank. No dice. Need to check fuses and relays, but that's a day that warrants slightly cooler temperatures as I felt like I was going to expire in the wonderful Saltcoats sun. The car has also got just shy of half a tank of fuel in it, probably worth more than the car itself is. Now, I just need to get the fuel pump sent back down from Cupar as I'll change it in situ, would make it easier to get the car onto a transporter since removing from the current location isn't easy or doable unless at 3am.
  4. As always, give me a shout if you're across here again! Aye, documented it just now on my own thread. About the guts of 13 hours driving from Ayr down to Newport via Largs, Castle Douglas, and Stoke-on-Trent.
  5. Oh yeah I have a thread for this, whoops. So, dear reader, what the f*** has went on since I last posted an update? Well, Skodafest has been the highlight. It's the first show I've taken the car to, and it got loads of interest, and was lovely to put faces to names and suchlike. Four of us travelled down, in three different Fabias. Two Mk1s (hatch and estate), and @lewiswal47's Mk3. It started with two, that spawned the third... And finally, them all in their habitual stances... Lots of miles were racked up in that time, as can be seen with the trip computer below. And of course, it's passed 79,000 miles now. So paging in @FUBAR right now! Photo below clearly taken by passenger. Once back home, I tidied up the wheels, as I had found my chemicals for cleaning 'em. After Not the same wheel, but they were all pretty similar states. Oh, and of course, it wouldn't be a thread update if something hadn't broke! This is suboptimal, but no big issue. I'll sort it when I can. The car is doing very little mileage at the moment anyway! Bigger fish to fry and that.
  6. Great photos, and a grand write-up there. Looks like a grand trip!
  7. Please spare a thought for us Pentium 4 users in this heat. Please. Speaking of, I fitted the NetBurst Celeron @@Lee sent me. I haven't started the system yet, but most likely will do tomorrow as it'll be my first day off after six shifts on!
  8. I've got one somewhere but I don't know if I'll use it for the car yet. Time will tell and that.
  9. Bloody cool plate Trev! I've been trying to get a fitting plate for my Focus as it's too old to steal the Fabia's private "X" plate.
  10. Each time I've had to remove it, it's went back on with less screws and fittings than before. At some point it's just not going to be there at all!
  11. I really hope mine isn't hubs as I bought Brembo discs last time!
  12. How's your console bushes? Was told that can cause an issue like this, as my one is doing the same! Wanders something lethal at an indicated *ahem* big seven-zero too. You end up doing that shuffling the wheel from side-to-side like some actor in a sitcom in a car in front of a green screen!
  13. I made this error, as did my passenger. I kept getting funny looks from people at work today as I'm lobster-esque! Thought I was clever to park underneath a tree too!
  14. If the rear doors are letting in water, then chances are they are needing sealed around the carriers. Mine had the work carried out under warranty in 2009 (for all four). Check the seals for the boot vents too in where the spare wheel lies. Mine leaked in there too. I sometimes wonder if I bought a sieve, and not a car.
  15. Mine just does it anyway. I wouldn't worry too much unless the interior is like Sea Life inside.
  16. One of them TikTok things that my passenger made of the trip. Right enough both your Octavia and your OH's Fabia are featured (@vRS19TD)! 10000000_6881233668557923_3585449348554161225_n.mp4
  17. Guilty as charged here! 'tho it does feature a wee bit. Wasn't as much interest with mine as there was the ones on either side of me, but spoke to a lot of people who recognised the car from here and elsewhere online.
  18. Scotland and back in 12hrs, something of nearly 580 miles with loads of singing along to the random stuff that came on the stereo via Bluetooth (much to co-pilot's delight). Three car convoy both ways, with myself, the other Ryan, and @lewiswal47 all in a procession... even if my maps took us a variety of new and mystical ways. Was lovely meeting @gav_is_con and @TrevorB33 and a few others. I believe I missed a few faces but saw their cars and vice/versa. If you spoke to me yesterday I do apologise if I was a bit dazed, being from Scotland I don't expect quite as much sun! I've got LOADS other photos on the digital camera, including some of, I think it was @SE20TD's Fab vRS SE. Will need to retrieve those when I can find my CF card reader. Cheers all, was lovely putting faces to names.
  19. Currently trying to mentally prepare myself for potentially a 0400 start to leave from here, get to Kirkcudbright to join the convoy, and get there for opening! This living in Scotland carry on isn't all it's cracked up to be
  20. 202 only does front speakers, as it's from the Classic. 502 is a tape with CD abilities. Was an added cost option that almost no-one specced.
  21. Is it a 502?! If so, got another spare???
  22. Fark me this is mental. Brilliant.
  23. Aghhhh that's affordable. Will do A LOT of thinking, I reckon.
  24. Myself plus the usual co-pilot, and a few mates not on this site are attending in our Mk1s, and I know @lewiswal47 is coming with us in his Mk3 Monte too.
  25. You didn't say you were on here!
