  1. Great... now I feel old! Car looks great, though.
  2. One of these will cover the upper part of trim. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225070361708 I believe there's a guide on radio installation by @Tech1e but I can't find it at the moment.
  3. Wonderful. Fabia or not, will you be going to Skodafest on the 4th, Matt?
  4. Hoping things are going better for you now, @Titanium_Man.
  5. HatBoyHarvey's videos are very good. A gem of a resource for these cars.
  6. Indeed, if you've got a small bit of mirror then you can angle it to where the markings are on the filter, without needing to jack the car up and crawl underneath.
  7. I am said recent experience, as it seems these cars do not like having the incorrect fuel filter fitted due to the pressure regulator inside the filter.
  8. I have a great time with these wonderful databases. My car is a late 2006 build, but comes back as a 2007 on a lot of systems - due to it being an MY07 Mk1, but most systems interpret this as a Mk2.
  9. Chavtacular! Just get yourself some Ultrabeat on CD, backwards bunnet, loud exhaust etc and you're sorted...
  10. Congratulations on this finally being road legal. Is it going to be o'er here anytime soon?
  11. On my street, I've got the second oldest car (the Focus isn't at home with me, it lives elsewhere), the crown going to a well dead 1997/98 Range Rover (shocker). However, in terms of a 1,500ish population village, most cars are usually 2008-2015 at the moment, whereas a few years back most were 2000-2008, it seems to work on a rolling period. No surprise for anything older given the road salt and harsher climate compared to that of posters on here from places darned scarf.
  12. I *think* so, but not sure. Will tell you when I'm screaming at the brakes in a few days time.
  13. You kept this one quiet over on the 'beige, didn't you. Or did I just not notice?
  14. Correct! It's all wired in there. The air horns sit right at the back of the engine bay and seem fine there. It's got tri-tone horns since the factory original is still sort of functional too (even if massively blurred out by the double air horns). They're loud and obnoxious, just to match the car and the owner too.
  15. Nearly a month and what has happened? Hmmmmm... Droplinks broke! Both sides. Fun. I've replaced one side so far, other side hasn't been done yet. 20230425_135856.mp4 In further news, my driver's side window regulator decided it didn't want to regulate windows anymore, leaving my window completely down. Many black bags later it was whole again, and then as of today, it's now repaired... "professionally" (by me and my Granda). Furthermore, I've chav specced the car with a tasteful* sunstrip. Meh, I like it, it has practical uses. At least it doesn't have mine and the other half I don't have's names on it... Further to that, been sorting out niggles with the car, which included a replacement engine cover, mirror glass, and fitting a spring into the fuel cap! Oh aye, and before I forget, the P0171 issue has been cured! Turns out I'd had the wrong fuel filter on the car, as it was the three bar one (as fitted by the garage), and not the correct four bar filter. 49mpg is doable if I behave. So here is the car as it stands now, I'm really pleased with how it's coming along, never done, of course. However, I am content with where things are at now.
  16. Ahhhh sounds lovely! Peak poshness being a 2.0 as well.
  17. I don't think I've ever had an order placed with ECP online ever go quite to plan, it usually involves a trip back to the local branch.
  18. I can't remember for the life of me if I'd already shared these, it's been a while regardless. @pinkpanther talking about swans spurred the last one on, the rest I quite liked. Shot with my Canon EOS 1000F and Kodak ProImage 100 film a year or so ago!
  19. I see your 'Fife' and I raise you Ayrshire...
  20. Did they say which higher speed?
  21. Mine had this due to the wrong fuel filter being fitted, it turns out.
  22. That's better to hear. It's easier to replace an engine than it is structural parts of the shell.
