  1. I'd have taken a similar route too. That being said, those photos look nice, so as long as a good time was had that's what matters. Last year, myself and some friends did Inverness and back in a day. Started at home, near the A713, then onto the A78, A737 to pick up from Johnstone, M8 (W), A898 over the Erskine Bridge, A82 stopping in Balloch, and then following to Inverness with lunch in Fort William. Got dinner in Inverness and killed an hour or two. Came back down the A9, into Stirling, then over the A811 to Balloch, and worked backwards from there.
  2. I'd take Daffodil in a swap for a shed (that looks a bit like a red Mk1 Fabia)...
  3. Had seen this on Facebook the other day, I think.
  4. The part number you are after is 6Y0858332. You will not be able to get one of these from Skoda themselves anymore. As Sepulchrave says, your best bet is a breakers or eBay, I bought mine from the latter, but had to wait for one to pop up.
  5. Greetings from Ayrshire, but regularly in Glasgow. 2006 Fabia 1.2 HTP here, in dark red. Welcome to the forum.
  6. Brilliant. Got it booked off my work. Thankfully the £15 is for the car and not per head. Four of us going down in my Fabia this year... slowly, because 1.2 - I may be there for Skodafest '25 depending on how long it takes...
  7. I didn't need a ticket last year, Matt. It was pay at the gate - £15 per car this year I think.
  8. All the best with your Clio. Hope to see you again soon!
  9. Admittedly last night, but holy hell! Sporty one.
  10. How did you check them? I've had them fail, but not feel loose when wiggled even with a pry bar! It depends if they're under load when you're checking. Replacing them cured the knocking on my Mk1 though.
  11. Back to being my daily driver now, since the Vectra disgraced itself and left me stranded... yet again. Thin ice, it might see the summer out with me before it goes up for sale. Fabia is on nearly 90,000 miles now, and lapping it up well. Took it (and the mrs) to Stirling last week as well. It's running really smoothly at the moment, not perfect, but it'll get there. I've got a proper THUMP coming from the front driver's side suspension, only if it takes a bump really hard or by surprise, it'll crash over it. No idea what yet, but suspect shock absorber. I've got more I want to do with it, just waiting for better weather and all that.
  12. Unfortunately I ended up giving the unit away to a friend. So I have no idea what came of it. Apologies.
  13. New front tyres on this one today. Falken Sincera or something. My usual tyre fitters are getting worse... don't think I'll be using them again unless I want argued with, belittled, or listening to my car being revved off its limiter.
  14. Might be worthwhile taking the HVAC cover off, and cleaning the little vent where the sensor is too. Just as a free/quick check or repair. I did a guide on how to remove the panel (it's not difficult mind you) and it's on YouTube.
  15. I appear to have forgotten to make a post, but this is still here. Lying about as the second car as the Vectra is picking up most of my mileage as the 'family' car. Purchased 6th of March 2021. Which means I've had it three years now. 89k miles now, and plodding along slowly (very slowly) but surely.
  16. About time! Was disappointed that you weren't there last year.
  17. I believe its the 27th of May this year!
  18. Will I be seeing your vRS at the Skoda Owner's Club 'Skodafest' this year? Hoping to be there in my Mk1 again, with the rear electric windows fitted as well.
  19. Originally for the fire extinguisher that could be had as an option, yes. I use mine for a spare bottle of 5w/40.
  20. That's well tidy. Bonus points from me for the Scottish registration. Nice to see one in good hands.
  21. Yarrrr thar do be a pass, matey. Handbrake was also knackered, so got new cables put on as they'd stretched something awful. Not as expensive as last year but not cheap. Oh well. Next month I'm looking at getting these doors done so the rear electric windows are finished.
  22. As always, this cursed car fought me every single step of the way. In the end, it was passed on to a recovery specialist who removed the car and stored it for a little bit before selling it to restorer... Who promptly scrapped it. Shock horror (he says sarcastically). I guess this means the curse has been lifted, right?!
  23. Mechanic is confident he can have it sorted for not too much, so keep it until the test runs out again. If it had been a bit more terminal I'd have went and bought myself another.
