  1. Currently sitting on the opposite end of the room from my Hi-Fi. Which is now on and being used for the first time in ages. Recording a mix tape for my trip away tomorrow. Forgot how bassy Erase/Rewind by the Cardigans was... I'm feeling it through the bloody armchair.
  2. Woo woo noise... is it the police?
  3. Have you considered a Felicia estate, or even a Fabia estate? Gives you additional space, although costly, but safer for pedestrians.
  4. Front bearings reverberating in the cabin? Not unheard of, especially if the spacial determination thing (there's probably a technical name for this) that your hearing has is appalling like mine is.
  5. Right, I know I make daft decisions, but I've refrained from looking at that again so I don't buy it! I do know a guy who can weld for mucho cheapness... mind you...
  6. I carry a lot of random ****e in the boot usually. So my solution is an RAC branded boot organiser thing, until I can get the Mk1 Fabia parcel shelf with the netting. Got it as a gift, but they're not too expensive from B&M or Home Bargains. Plus they've got dinky handles on 'em so you can just lift it out, should you require access to the spare wheel.
  7. Avoid these like the plague IMO/IME. Horrid little cars, at least from a reliability point of view. That's purely anecdotal evidence, mind you, but I've known a few folk who've had issues with those.
  8. Under 2k would get you just about any Mk1 Fabia. Mine was £1495 with 52k miles. My wee 1.2 is quite well planted by way of handling, seems to stick to the road nicely, and was an absolute gem even in the horrible conditions that we get here, sometimes. Such as snow. No real performance though... or maybe that's an issue specific to mine, but the 1.4 16v petrol or even a diesel would be a decent shout.
  9. Sounds like you've been unlucky, IMO. I've found that the DSG VAG cars I've driven at work are rather good, besides one Golf, but that's beside the point.
  10. Wasn't just me that thought of that then, Lee.
  11. This is why Lemon Yellow and Fantasy Green Fabias are cheaper than the rest, usually. Savings can be made if you don't mind driving a bananamobile, or whatever the mint green equivalent.
  12. @sepulchrave is correct there. I drive the version of this engine that came in the Mk1 Fabia, and has slightly less power. About 13000 miles later, albeit slowly, it's been okay, but I'd rather something with a bit more oomph. These cars are great in urban environments where speed and power is less of a defining factor, but take one out to rural areas or even motorways and you'll realise the shortcomings of this engine rather quickly. So what's my verdict? 1.4 16v, or even 1.6 16v if it HAS to be a petrol and a Mk2 Fabia. I don't know enough about the newer ones to give a clear answer.
  13. If you're sure. I'd be happy to give some a bash. Thank you very much.
  14. I don't recommend nor condone travelling at those speeds, for your own safety and that of others. I'm not the 'safety police' though. However, it's probably just burning all the carp that the exhaust has gathered up.
  15. There was a 944 parked up... definitely counts as my car of the day!
  16. Would you happen to be making these to order?
  17. It's better than forgetting where the locking wheel nut is for your Fabia, emptying the car out across the driveway, to find it in the 'emergency' bag beside a spare coil pack and wheel nut cover puller that you had set aside earlier thinking the locking nut adapter isn't in said bag.
  18. You should hear the amazon alexa things try to do gaelic song titles... That'll give you a good idea lol.
  19. See also: your previous thread.
  20. Schrodinger's lamp... is it on or off...?
  21. Another thing I've noticed is that a few of these cars have broken arch liners. Mine is an example of this, with the driver's side arch liner missing the bit that covers the sill, which accelerated the rust on that side (which was "terrifically" painted over, as the passenger side is relatively good in comparison.
  22. I think it means Instant Relay Chat, in this case. So like an instant messenger or that.
