  1. Thank you. Might give it a shot if I've got the aftermarket system back in.
  2. It goes away with the engine off, only comes back on with the engine on as outlined in the video. I meant to update to say I've just went to an OEM head unit as the Sony kept falling out anyway.
  3. Received this delightful Bush MTT1 for £20 from a member of another forum. Arrived today and is a lovely wee bit of kit. Also included were some free LPs... including this Genesis one. I've never heard it before, good so far.
  4. When my air con wasn't working, the fan was never on unless in traffic for extreme periods of time. Now that I have air con c/o a regas, it comes on when set to.
  5. Aye, it's a bit basic though, no use of the rear speakers and no CD changer capability but it glows green when I ask the whole interior to, it gets me AM radio for the one local station I like, and I've still got the cassette. Thank you, it hasn't been easy at times. I always consider that this is OEM+, as if it's kitted out the way it should have been, not to the spec of the skinflint owner who specced it lol.
  6. DieselMonte and the Amazing Technicolour Fab Comfort? Definitely a good spare car once NCT'd etc. I've got a pair of facelift rear lights if you'd be interested in them, by the way. Dunno how well postage would work though given political events that I shan't mention etc. I've got one of these lists too, thankfully just fairly short. Just as a tip, don't get too picky about what you're repairing. The bare minimum, then iron out the finer things later.
  7. Go for the black headliner too. I'd like to do the same but I've just bought the sunglasses holder from a Mk4 Golf Anniversary Edition. Could spray it, but I'll stick with the light coloured headrest for now. This car is going to look absolutely brilliant when you're done. Definitely won't be showing it's miles, that's for sure!
  8. Nice 'haul' there. Looks to be the same door cards I've got as well.
  9. What about one of those Tile things? Smaller than an old phone and could be hidden anywhere realistically.
  10. Sadly unavailable. @Lofty spoke about this on his project thread some time ago.
  11. £7.60 or there abouts. At least I have the code should I require it in the future though.
  12. That bloody Sony barsteward. It never stays in the dash. I may have fallen out with it... just a little and bought an MS202 off eBay. I'm losing the CD changer at the moment but I've still got the cassette. Been looking for an MS502 but those are scarcer than gnashers in your typical farmyard fowl that were subject to a stop-motion movie about flying, an MS402 would even do right now, but it's a wait and see thing really. In the meantime, here's what I've rammed into the dash. It didn't even want a code, which was bizarre, but I'm not complaining. For a basic wee unit, it sounds rather good too and I have interference-free AM radio!
  13. Unit is in. Didn't even need the code.
  14. Could always do what was done with the Gameboy or N64 cartridges, blow on the contacts, and blow air into the slot for the card.
  15. Came from the filter directly. I do think that this you describe here is more than a leak. I'll leave it to the smart folk to work out what to sort etc etc.
  16. I had this issue. Check to see if it's leaking around the fuel filter etc.
  17. Can't help with a head unit, but fronts should be 16.5cm-17cm. If it's like a Mk1 Fabia you'll need spacers too as the OEM spacers are structurally integral to the old speakers. I personally found that these Pioneer speakers were excellent in the front of my Fabia, could shoogle the seats as well. I don't know the dimensions of the rear speakers of a Mk2 Fabia, but in the Mk1 they're 10cm, and I used these Pioneer ones too. Only bought either because they were cheap. The rears don't do much for bass and overall power, but nice filler. Hope this helps.
  18. Okay lassies, handbags doon.
  19. This is a new one on me. It was working fine with my antenna adaptor, but now it's not happy on medium or long wave radio. What do we reckon is causing this? 20220523_192656.mp4 The antenna adaptor is wired in through the blue wire on the loom as well. I think (and hope) that was the correct one. Otherwise, Christ knows... I'll probably tackle this tomorrow with the other mountain of problems that has been slowly accumulating. Advice is very much welcomed to rectifying this. Like I mentioned in the title, I think it's a grounding or interference issue but I'm a Lit Student, not an electrician.
  20. Might get a smack across the back of the head for that one from my Mum, Pete. If so, I'm blaming you.
  21. Thanks, Gaz! Just out of curiosity... how are you meant to pronounce Fuchs...?!
  22. I've got a carton... errr box of 5w40 stuff for my oil and filter replacement tomorrow. So I'll be fine till next May.
  23. That's the stuff my Fabia takes too, IIRC. Can't seem to find it, so I think you're right.
