  1. Aye, that badge is coming away with me! Apparently this is the last Nexia GLi auto left in the UK as well...
  2. The newest arrival, and now the quickest outgoing...
  3. Been back in business since last Tuesday! Tracked up and new Pirelli tyres as well. Feels like a brand new motor! Creeping up on 97,000 miles now. Going well now. That'll do.
  4. This still works, been over a year of ownership now. Lapped up the miles in true 'repmobile' style. Now sporting original velour mats, a genuine Vauxhall first aid kit in the boot, SRi/GSi/Supertouring taillights, Opel brand wind deflectors on the front, and unfortunately not attached at the moment, but it has a set of genuine Vauxhall headlamp protectors. That'll do.
  5. My mate's just sent me a photo of my motor with the subframe in front of it. I've got a knackered driveshaft, and a rotten wishbone (18 Scottish winters, mind) as well. Should be like a new car when it's home!
  6. Deflectors through eBay as they were before! Parts cost nothing when you still get discount from a certain big car sales chain! Getting my mate to do the work because he's got a garage, ramps, and heating! Posh basket! Console bushes are PSB ones I'm pretty sure, DM. I bought them at the same time as the car.
  7. Currently away for a decent amount of suspension-related work I've been neglecting to do since buying the car in 2021... whoops. That includes shock absorbers, the 'console' bushes that the wishbones sit in, a droplink, the dog bone mount, and another set of Bohemia 15" alloys like my old ones were. It's got a chance of going in a straight line now. Will need tracked upon its return, and fresh rubber on all four corners. Thinking about going for something decent like Goodyears, but trying to get somewhere local that will fit them without them being more than £90 a corner is proving difficult. Currently it's sitting on two ditch magnet specials, a Nexen snow tyre from the prehistoric era, and a cracked Bridgestone. Tidy! Beyond that, I've got some <Orange Man> 'concepts of a plan' </Orange Man> with a view to increasing nighttime visibility, and I've bought another set of Team Heko wind deflectors as I miss my old ones. Beyond that, the plan is to get the front wing painted so it doesn't look like an incompetent fool (me) had a shot with some rattle cans during a force something gale. Anyway, I'll report back in a few days... or months.
  8. I must remember this tactic, and have firemen on standby with that thing to cut the roof off.
  9. Bear with me on this one... I bought the above VHS video recorder through Facebook Marketplace, it loaded the tape fine at first but wouldn't play, then switched off. Ejected the tape afterwards. Now it takes the tape in so far, then won't go any further. I've since checked the belt on the bottom of the mechanism for driving the tape and that - but it seems okay to me. I'm not sure if there's another belt for loading, I haven't really checked that in-depth. If anyone knows, that'd be nice. I don't want to give up on it, since it's a really tidy machine - one previous old couple etc. Original remote, cellophane to protect the lid and other panels. It's mint. Advice is always appreciated.
  10. Thread resurrection and suchlike... I have a Panasonic DVD/VHS combo (DMR-EZ47 I think?) that does DVB receiving and recording to both VHS and DVD. It's up the loft I think. Quite a few of the later "last of the line" VHS VCRs will do DVB recording, although in terms of reliability they're a bit ****.
  11. Oh, erm, ****, I sort of forgot about this thread. Whoops. You might be asking what came of me, this car yadda yadda yadda. All is better (ish) now. Back in May (?) I had a slight Vectra vs Fabia interfacing issue resulting in slight* damage to the Skoda... as outlined in another thread at the time I'm sure. This resulted in a sizeable bill to get it moving in an approximately straight line. I do, however, think I've structurally knackered it somewhere though - something is scraping on full suspension travel, and it pulls to the left worse than it used to, plus it feels really rough and wobbly through the steering wheel. It hardly moves now anyway, doing about 20 miles a week - if that, as it can sit for a few weeks at a time. I'm seriously hoping that its just the console bushes that have disintegrated or something like that, it just doesn't seem or sound particularly stellar. It isn't looking too brilliant for the car but I'll investigate properly. Now, onto some slightly more positive news... I bought a set of seats with arsewarmers! Managed to claw a little bit of money back with my old Bohemia seats, and no longer have a metal bar sticking through the frame somewhat! Bonus. Despite what I've written above... I'm picking up another set of Bohemia alloys on Tuesday, because I'm a menace with no financial sense. Although, if this turns out to be the end of my Fabia, I'll just buy another Mk1. Still scrubs up well - on 95k miles now.
  12. I've seen a few with aftermarket alarms with those 'deterrent' LEDs fitted in one of the button blanks.
  13. Funnily enough that's the one I sent you the other night!
  14. Right that Fabia is nice, but I'd like to know more about that Mk3 Golf...
  15. For f***s sakes man... (Nah I'm not cleaning that dash until the good weather is back...)
  16. Common thing for Sony units of this age. My Sony TC-WR445 has belts on their way out, and the Sony MIDI system my Gran and Grampa has packed in sometime when I were a lad. Belts like goo.
  17. Even my low mileage* Vectra has surpassed yer Fiesta. That being said, it has averaged about 90 miles a day since October... In other, Fabia related news: It's somewhere over 94k now.
  18. Honestly, by the looks of it, that radio is less than the standardised Double DIN format. I've got a Kenwood Double DIN in my Fabia and it fits fine, only a facia like yours at the top.
  19. Probably come from a dealer local to me since it's wearing an SJ plate.
  20. Quite a low registration number too, which makes it quite an interesting old thing. Shame it's knackered. I know a lass who has a G-reg one in that grey/brown they did. Lovely motor like.
