What does this switch/button do?
Well, it doesn't fall down and smack me on the knee constantly. Is there a way to lock these things that I'm naively unaware of?

What does this switch/button do?
I picked up on it as well when going through the user's manual/handbook provided with my car and was expecting it to have some form of locking. I've found the manual to be about as clear as mud when it comes to trying to figure out things on the car such as the wiper stalk, which I managed to learn by effing about with it and seeing what would happen.

I've never understood why they call it a "lockable" storage compartment when there's nothing to lock it, per se. When I think of a lockable cubby, I think of something you can secure with a key.

Fuel Cap Doesn't Spring Open
I do not, I just have my Grandad. Oh that's a good point. I wasn't sure if there was anything behind that little tab thing (that locks) to push the cap out. Having never had a car that did this, besides my Mum's Toyota Auris, but it worked.

Fuel Cap Doesn't Spring Open
Had this problem since I bought the car (got money off from the seller as a result) where the cap doesn't pop open when I pull the release from inside the car. To combat this, I've had to wedge something under the pull release and then pry it open, see here: I believe there's meant to be a wee metal thing to allow it to pop open, but I wouldn't know. This is it in the "unlocked" position: Thanks in advance. Ryan

I'll have a nosey when I'm next in the car.

Where? I'm rather curious.

If folk care that much then they need a hobby. You've not only got two cool boxes but having an estate will give you the lighter socket in the rear too.

It's only if you don't open a door within the set time IIRC. My Ambiente does it too. Hope you enjoy the motor.

Honest opinions on E10 Vs the old E5 petrol.
Mine hasn't been doing too great on E10... or E5. I suspect there's a further problem or it's just the cold weather wreaking havoc. I did a test where I compared MPG figures from me plodding about when I went on a run with it on Thursday, covering around 320 miles of mixed driving. It's not really scientific, as I don't own the lab coat. Average on E5 'Super' from Morrisons: 42.5MPG (02/12/2021) Average on E10 '95 RON' from a garage in New Cumnock: 42.3MPG (02/12/2021) My source is the car's built-in computer, so I cannot vouch for the accuracy of that one, but I don't think it's far off based on my approximations of range based on refuelling and trip computers.

Wing mirrors
They should be. I believe they're nicked from an Ambiente at the factory anyway, and that's just the name for the post-facelift Comfort.

Wing mirrors
Aye they should do. I believe the fitting of the connector is the same.

The heating elements in my mirrors are a godsend at this time of year. I'm in the process of turning mine into an Ambiente "Plus" with just that in mind. I've got the alloys. Just need the rest still. Plus I've got a better interior light than in the Bohemia (it's the little things ). Back on topic, both are good choices but if you'd prefer alloys and a frankly superior interior then go for the Bohemia or other models. Just watch for the common wear issues on these seats. It has been covered in quite a few threads.

good start
Hello and welcome. Don't worry about it, I'm just as bad!

True. My car lives on my driveway so I should be alright. It doesn't get parked on a street too often either. All I need to watch out for is shopping trolleys and people in cars chucking their doors open in car parks.

I wouldn't have grudged it for age and the mileage given the current climate. Mine cost me £1,495 in March and it had done just shy of 52k miles at the time, being a Dec 2006 model too.
