  1. Which involves a new bumper and a hell of a lot of effort. Nightbreakers are good as far as I know. I've got Philips bulbs that quote 130% brightness over the standard candles, got them on Amazon. There was a thread in the Mk3 Forums for halogen/projector people. The only photograph that appears with the embed is one I posted further down the page. Weird. Another top tip: polish the outsides of the headlight units if they're clouding over, helps quite a bit depending on how bad they are.
  2. Of course. I'm going to wait and see what the market is like when I finally get round to making the next purchase or just wait until any that meet my needs in regards to spec pop up. The 1.9 has cheaper road tax than my current 1.2 (£170) and the 1.4 (£210, according to AutoTrader and Parkers). So although, not much, £155 is music to my ears, being a bit of a tight-arse.
  3. If you don't have VCDS then consult the owners map (hyperlinked inside the thread supplied) to find someone local who'd do the job for you for some beer tokens or something similar...
  4. Might be quite similar to roads down here then, makes the 1.2 12v that wee bit more fun as it'll rev out not too badly. The 1.4 16v (either AUB or BBZ, depends what I can get in better condition) is up there for future vehicular considerations.
  5. I believe there to be a list of TPS branches that sell to general public, but I'm not too sure. A search may bring something back.
  6. VCDS/VAG-COM I imagine. There's an owner's map too. Hope this helps.
  7. Glad to hear it, Gaz.
  8. Sorry about that. I was just adding in as I don't know how well that would hold up in terms of MOT time. This may help, but I'm not too sure. I'll leave this to the experts.
  9. You'd need headlight washers for Xenons if they're not included with the car, correct me if I'm wrong of course.
  10. That's an amazing photograph of a spectacular phenomenon.
  11. I'll just sit here like "uh-huh, I can totally understand what it's like to drive either of these cars, yes."
  12. Drag race? The 1.4 MPI is 15.6 seconds to 60 from a standing start, according to Skoda. The 1.2 12v is 15.9 apparently. So you've got that wee 0.3 seconds on me. I think, obviously there's a slight difference. I'll need to get my mitts on a 1.4 MPI to test this now.
  13. I mean, either beats a 1.2... Thought so, I've got a friend in Latvia (met through a car group) with an Audi 80 with said engine IIRC.
  14. I've never had anything useful from a Haynes manual besides profit selling them on eBay!
  15. Same engine IIRC. From what I've read, the 1.4 is more spritely compared to the heavier 2.0 lump.
  16. Hello and welcome to Briskoda!
  17. I quite like the alloys that came on the 2.0. Presumably 15s were the smallest due to the brake size since it used vRS sized brakes?
  18. Gies a shout, eh? I need/want (delete as appropriate) a summer motor.
  19. Mk1 Fabia is the same, being a piddly little 1.2. Running on Matador Hectorra 3's, was on Toledo T100s before IIRC.
  20. Might start a mission to find out who the owner of the Dumfriesshire SE is, I keep seeing it when I'm down there.
  21. Hello and welcome to Briskoda. You've stumbled across a haven of information! I joined here the day I purchased my Fabia and have been basking in the wealth of knowledge since.
  22. Not yet. I completely forgot haha!
  23. I canny go quick enough in mine to get either which suits me fine to be honest.
  24. You know, if you were selling that now I'd have took your arm off. Ah well, hindsight is an [expletive], eh?
