  1. Same here. Was out in the Heathfield Industrial Estate in Ayr and I was admiring the reflection of the headlights in the front window of Halfords before I set off.
  2. I've had the car since March and this is the first set of bulbs I've put in it. They've been good since fitted in October though. I'm not quite sure what else I could recommend really. Perhaps have a peruse around the Philips range and see if there's anything about as they seem quite good... and don't pack in like reports of the OSRAM's, which were my original choice.
  3. Make sure your battery is okay (@nta16 is your man when it comes to that) and also check ground connections from the battery to parts of the body. Poor connections can lead to the electrics having spasms.
  4. In that case, it's a matter of finding out if it's compatible with said certification, and if it isn't then you're looking at better halogens to replace the glow worms.
  5. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/aftermarket-hid-headlamps/aftermarket-hid-headlamps Maybe this will clear things up... or muddy the waters. From what I can see, it's not legal, but it is legal?
  6. Cause they break at night... I'll see myself out... I've got 'Philips 12972XV+S2 X-tremeVision' Halogens on my Mk1, they're definitely better than the standard candles.
  7. I've been summoned.
  8. I may start doing this actually. Seems quite interesting!
  9. Must have been. I've not got that one either but the older Comfort and Elegances had it.
  10. It's looking smashing! I do like the Mk3 Octavia vRS, even more so in black.
  11. I was merely trying to provide assistance based on personal experience.
  12. Cost-cutting measure by VAG perhaps?
  13. Aye, especially the scabby looking things that live on my Furby. Nope, and I wouldn't like to try and deal with my springer spaniel either. Feisty wee bandit when it suits him lol.
  14. I'm protected against both of those through the wonders of "modern" technology... and a spare stereo
  15. I've gave up on buying OEM made cartridges for my printers. My main is an HP Deskjet 2540 which takes 301 carts from HP, but those are a small fortune so I've bought Asda and Tesco ones for a wee while. They do the job. I have a 1993 Canon BJ10SX for legacy applications that Canon don't acknowledge, given it's age, so I use CartridgeInk, as recommended by my Grampa. I believe they're like DFS and always have a sale on.
  16. Cheers Lee, I'll have a play about with it when there's daylight.
  17. Hello and welcome to Briskoda! Hopefully you can find a Favorit, I've got a soft spot for those little blocky things.
  18. In which case, I've definitely not got that as mine can be opened by looking at it funny regardless of whether the key is in or not.
  19. Love that. I believe Sepulchrave is referring to the little cubby with the "on" pull tab that locks. I might not have it either if VAG removed it when they facelifted the Fabia.
  20. It's recommended that air filters should be changed annually, more if you do a lot of mileage.
  21. Beats walking, Lee. Plus yours is in one of the best colours.
  22. I'll need to try that, and then I'll be able to confirm if it does so. That and the heated seats... jealous of you posh folk with your Elegances.
