Software
You must have missed out, mine went in last week and came out with an upgrade from B to F and the latest software version with working Android Auto, if you're still having issues i'd try and get it back in and force them to update

Problem with SOS call
Welcome to the wonderful world of the Mk4 and it's many issues! I've not got a first edition but I've had this issue as well as just about everything else, it's definitely a visit to the dealer. I would guess they'll update any software that controls the SOS module first and tell you to see how that goes. Since yours is a FE, i would make sure they update the infotainment system too, I've just had mine done and it's a lot smoother and wireless android auto is now working.

Cl.30 reset
If your car is failing to connect to the server and has no internet connection at all,try pulling fuses 19 & 30 and leaving for 10 minutes. This does a hard reset of the main systems and has worked for me on 3 occasions.

ACC Braking when overtaking
I've had this issue too, it's clearly a common problem across the VAG range but Skoda UK and the dealers won't admit it exists.

Wireless Android Auto
Another confirmation that after an update at the dealer, my hardware revision has gone from B to F and Wireless AA is now working.

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
Finally had mine updated and Wireless Android Auto is now working! So much for the "It's not possible on your car as it's not a standard feature" Before After

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
Mine is at the dealer as i type, there's a few bits that need sorting out and most are software issues so, fingers crossed i get the latest update and my Wireless AA is finally working.

USB C port in rear view mirror.
The battery in my nextbase cam lasts about 5 minutes, this seems to be the norm so it's unlikely you'll see one with a decent sized battery, I can't imagine it would be too safe in a window with direct sunlight either. You can buy external batteries that charge while you're driving and then power the cam when you park up but, they're usually quite pricey. My cam is just wired straight to the fuse box and piggy backs on the 12v socket in the boot, relatively easy to remove the A pillar trim and route the cable.

Skoda Navigation or Waze?
Mine slows down for roundabouts and Junctions even if I have the ACC / Limiter disengaged, it won't bring the car to a stop like ACC does behind traffic but it definitely applies the brakes at roundabouts and junctions. I do know you can completely deactivate ACC by pushing the small stalk all the way back, I'm not sure if this stops the car from slowing down at junctions etc? I probably wasn't overly clear what I meant in my previous post so I'll try again. I appreciate that when in hybrid mode the car will use the battery when you're at slower speeds or you're barely touching the accelerator however, I believe it can be smarter than this with the skoda sat nav engaged. As an example, my car doesn't charge the battery while driving (except regen braking) but with the sat nav engaged, I've noticed that about 10 miles from home the charge bar suddenly fills and it stays like that until I have 3 miles of range back in the battery, this is obviously for when I get to town and the ICE can cut out. If I don't have the sat nav on, the battery doesn't charge as it doesn't know where I'm heading. What the OP wants to know is whether or not Waze provides the same functionality or if it only works with the built in sat nav.

Skoda Navigation or Waze?
The eco tips and the auto braking etc. have nothing to do with how the car utilises the hybrid system though, it wouldn't know when the best time is to use the battery or the ICE if you don't have the sat nav engaged as it wouldn't know your planned route. As per the ops question though, I would also be interested to know if it can use waze to decide how to best use the hybrid system, I've only used it once and that was with the built in nav.

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
Thanks for those, it's very helpful. Did you have your SOS module replaced by any chance?
-
Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
I guess the only way is if you have both a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz network at home and are parked close enough to pick these up. My network has both but my car can only detect the 2.4ghz network when I attempt to connect to WiFi.

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
Yeah the iPhone always has, it's the 5ghz WiFi that's needed for AA Wireless. It really does look as though this SOS module is the key to AA Wireless.

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
I've just seen another member has had their hardware updated from revision B to revision F, they've also had the SOS module updated though so is it likely that this piece of hardware being changed is what allows the HW revision and software to be updated?
-
Software
Ah OK fair enough. If you get a chance, it would be good to know if your car can now connect to a 5ghz WiFi.

Software
Are you able to confirm that Wireless Android Auto is now working too?

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
While we do all appreciate the confirmation, it doesn't help if we're trying to convince dealers it can be fixed. I don't suppose you have before and after pics of your infotainment system do you?

Is any Octavia MK4 without fault?
An update on my issues: AAC - Apparently they've done an few updates and at the moment in time, ACC seems to be behaving. I am yet to do some long runs so only time will tell. SOS System - I was getting the loud popping sound, like a fuse popping but so far, I've not had it happen again. Random braking (not emergency) - I know the car has some fancy front assist stuff and breaking when coming up to junctions etc but, my car was randomly putting the brakes on and bringing me to a complete stop in the middle of long straight roads. As with the other issues, this hasn't presented itself again. Losing connectivity - This wasn't something the dealer has looked at but it's happened twice in the 7 weeks I've had the car. I've had to resort to removing fuses to get the connectivity back and the dealer are saying i need to provide times when this is happening so they can check against server downtime. This response has really annoyed me, the fact that they're suggesting i just happened to replace the fuses at the exact moment the servers have come back up after some downtime 😂 Wireless Android Auto is a tough one, the brochures don't advertise it here in the UK (Not that i can see) but my argument is that it's p*** poor if some people with the same revision hardware as mine are getting theirs updated. The response I've had is that it wasn't advertised and Skoda say it's not possible so there's nothing we can do. I had found the dealer to be pretty good up until today, there were some hiccups initially but its the way they corrected these that made me feel like i was in good hands, unfortunately today's conversation has left me pretty pi***d off.

Fitting A 12V Power Socket
I swapped my regular tyre inflator for a battery powered one, it works brilliantly.
-
Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
I guess it does actually show that the brochures are correct, they only advertised it as having wireless android auto once it was actually available.
-
Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
And effective from 3rd November 2020, which would apply to mine ENTERTAINMENT AND COMMUNICATION > VIRTUAL COCKPIT WITH 10.25" DISPLAY > WIRELESS SMARTLINK FOR APPLE CARPLAY* > SMARTLINK (INCLUDES ANDROID AUTO AND MIRRORLINK)
-
Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
I did think that, unfortunately they're new brochures though so i think i might have to admit defeat on this one. I've just found an old brochure and all it says is ... > SMARTLINK (INCLUDES ANDROID AUTO & MIRRORLINK)

Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
Mines an SE L which is annoying, it doesn't mention AA at all??
-
Cars without wireless android -> update available!!
Absolutely and i've already showed my dealer that but, what they're saying is that the manual is irrelevant, they need to see an actual brochure that advertised it as an option.
