Front passenger door lock problem
When I bought my car, it failed the MOT as front door wouldn't open from the outside. Something was replaced and all good. Did read up it's a bit of a known fault. Sounds like they know and will fix it

B Pillar plastic covers - how to keep them looking good
Hmmm, seems to think after a wash and a wipe down with some detailing spray, mine are always ok. Will have to have a look later when I go out. I never notice them dull or tarnished. Maybe they need a harsher polish.

COOLANT CHANGE
Yes, because it will have a silicate bag in the expansion tank. G12evo was developed to run without the need of a bag.

COOLANT CHANGE
I didn't warm it up first, too scared to take the coolant cap off lol. Did it spurt at all, or was it ok as it releases pressure when you first untwist it? Also had heating to max temp.

Clutch fluid bleed
I've not read that in the manual. Just don't let air in, otherwise you'll need to use vcds to bleed the abs unit. Otherwise just bleed in the sequence stated. I think it's FR, FL, RR, RL

COOLANT CHANGE
G12 evo is what you need if you don't have a silicat bag. What I did was take the return line off the expansion tank, run engine, heater one etc...in the hope it opens up the whole circuit. Run the return line into a bucket. As the expansion tank went down, top up with new G12evo. I ran 10ltrs through. 1year on, I did 5ltrs on my next service, same process. I assume I have quite a bit of the G12evo in there now. To do it properly, you are supposed drain the system, vacuum it and let it suck in the new coolant. I think you might need vcds as well to open up all the flaps. I have also watched a water pump replacement video and they had a large hopper on top of the expansion vessel, screwed in, filled up and let the engine run and as air came up, fluid went straight in. Seemed easier and cheaper then the vacuum method, but maybe some fluid stays in on a water pump change, I don't know?

Safety Hammer Mounting advice
Yup, but they are only a couple of mm. I'm not going to remove them, so won't have holes left on show. Next owner, well that's up to them. I'd leave them if it was me. But I get your point. I did consider sticking them, but there wasn't really any backing to the holder.

Safety Hammer Mounting advice
I screwed them to the B pillar, low down. Checked behind, didn't see anything the screws could damage.

Banging at the front when accelerating and hitting a pot hole.
Ok, thought it was one system. Good info, thanks for that.

Banging at the front when accelerating and hitting a pot hole.
Why does it do the bang after a bump, even with traction control off?

£349 just for the DSG, or was that including engine oil service as well?

VCDS - ABS implausible data received
Hi all, VCDS is throwing this up in an autoscan. No warning lights or anything, doesn't register as an actual fault. Any ideas?

Recommend an error code reader
Have OBDEleven, does some basic things, but to do adaptions it's subscription based. I'm going to keep it for quick code reading if out and about as connects to mobile. But going to get vcds for at home, as the yearly subscription for obdeleven would soon exceed it.

Rear wiper 'pausing' mid sweep
Ideally you need a puller, I'd be nervous using any shock tactics near the glass.

Rear wiper 'pausing' mid sweep
Autodoc said they'd take it back, so all boxed up and ready to send. Mines lasted quite a while, I gave it another clean out, as I had it off, better than before too! Had more fluid in there, I think some was washer fluid, so I sealed the shaft in from the inside as well, with some silicone. I also have some nice silicone super lube now, so spammed it up with that all inside.
