  1. be careful on autodoc, just gone to fit mine and it doesn't have the washer fluid connection. Now I need to se if I can send it back!
  2. Turning it the wrong way? Sometimes I've found them quite tight.
  3. Had to do the same. I have bought another unit, for when this one goes wrong again.
  4. It appears mines mainly the poly bushes. I jacked the car up and took the wheels off, got right in there and managed to get some fresh silicon grease in. Seems much better now. I do think the top mounts are making a smidge of noise, but not enough to worry about right now. And that's only at slow manoverring
  5. I wiggled the drop links around yesterday, they seem ok, but I would change them at the same time, as it's not worth not doing it.
  6. I'll watch some videos and buy some bits!
  7. Did you pull the driveshaft out a bit and damage the seal? Assume it's a manual, not dsg. Does it look like it's been leaking for a while, lots of oil around and you've only just noticed? Driveshafts ok, CV joints not worn? How many miles on the car?
  8. Every time I service the car, I spray all underneath with undercoat, or spam with wax oil. Just find with all modern cars, the black paint (if it can be called that) just disappears and leaves bear metal.
  9. I'm certainly getting a lot more noise from the front than back. Think I need to do top mounts, but what a job.......and maybe ARB mounts. I'll give them a spray first, see if that helps. It's only really on very slow hard turning and elevation changes, such as turning around for drive and up the slope etc...
  10. Normally it's the front lower control arms that are noisy. Greasing them, does work, but not forever. I'd say replace them and see if that sorts it. Think on autodoc they are only 75quid for the pair. Don't fit poly bushes, I did, but they need regular lubricating, otherwise they are noisy too! The anti roll bar bushes can be noisy too as well as front suspension top mounts.
  11. I changed the rears, but mines 2017, so not sure if exactly the same bolt. Have you looked on lllparts? Not sure if I even noticed there were two lengths. As for the rubbers and slide pins, my were in great condition, so just cleaned and regreased.
  12. Id love to do this, just looks like too much messing about and I'll break something (software wise)
  13. It'll only drain it to the setpoint you set. Some cams have separate batteries, which they'll use in parking mode. But ive seen a few pictures of them catching fire, so I'm a bit dubious of using them. Yes, it's not good to constant drain the battery, but it's a small drain and I'd rather catch someone hit my car.
  14. Chrisknott last time, with modded car, then will try Adrian flux. I did an online comparison and Shelia's wheels came up very good. Chris knott matches them, so went with them. This was last year, I need to look again soon, eeeek.
  15. It should go into a more shut down state for parking modr, pulling power from your permanent feed as fuse 47 will go 0v. It should monitor the battery voltage and cut the feed if it drops below your setpoint, maybe something like 12.4v When you start the car, it should see the 12v from fuse 47 and jump into life, constant loop recording etc...
  16. Well it sounds correct as you say then. What parking modes do you have? Does it speak that's it's gone to parking mode when you turn the ignition off, after a minute or so? I'm not familiar with that model, just basing it on mine and what it does.
  17. What it fuse 47, does it loose 12v when you turn the engine off?
  18. Why battery and accessory? Just looked up their hardwire kit for that model and it shows 1 feed. Are you using a backup battery for it?
  19. What different modes do you have? I think I can do constant record, record if hit or shut down, then come on and record if hit, the most eco mode.
  20. I don't know that camera, does it have parking mode and need a permanent 12v supply? Not sure why there's two connections. I only remember fitting one for my camera, not on an ignition side fuse, so it's permanently feed, for parking mode.
  21. Might use a borescope from work, but I'll wait and see if it drops more first. Hoping it doesnt!
  22. That looks like a mission and a half! Can you see the leak from above, guess need to remove some covers? Or is it an underneath job?
  23. I'm hoping my coolant level likes to sit midway, but I'm sure it's always been on max. Will know in a few weeks!
