Slightly oily spark plug
Not that expensive, I'd just change them if it was me.

Vrs fuel type
I use Tesco 99, if none of that and I need it, BP ultimate. Does it make a difference, don't know, but it should, so it's all good with me.

whistling, vibrating sound
Does noise change with rpm of engine?

octavia rs
That sounds like quite a clunk, but could it be car dead locking? Try locking your doors before driving off

Where do you live, someone on here may be near by and can scan your car. There's also a vcds map in the forum

Octavia error codes on start up
11.95v isn't particularly good, ideally it should be around 12.4 to 12.6. Though my battery isn't that old and it's still a little lower than that, but not under 12v. We do a lot of short journeys though. How long does it take to drop down to 12v after stopping?

What's your battery condition like?

coolant expansion bottle
I've just run the engine and put the outlet into a bucket and topped up with G12evo as the header goes down. Had heater on max, to open up the matrix. Missus will drive it around, then I'll do another 5ltrs next weekend. Should get round most of the system. Then perhaps just to 5ltrs on the next service.

coolant expansion bottle
For the sake of putting G12 evo in and having no bag, I don't see the point? Maybe if you sealed it up in a few more bags, lol
-
coolant expansion bottle
Yeah, it seems quite a tough bag, I even stabbed it a bit with a screwdriver ripping the top of the bottle off. Still, much happier now its out.
-
coolant expansion bottle
Ha, was reasonably sure I didn't have a bag....... No signs of damage on the bag, but absolutely no way I could ever get it out, not sure how people do that can? It was in the outer chamber with no hole big enough for it to fit through.

DSG Service mk3 VRs estate
Just done mine, needs about 5.2ltrs, so have to buy 6ltrs.
-
coolant expansion bottle
That's what I've just bought. Had another look in the tank, with a bright torch, can't see a bag still.

coolant expansion bottle
You say it although it's hard to do?!
-
coolant expansion bottle
Ordered a genuine one and 10ltrs of g12evo. Just saw another photo of a cut open tank and can see where the bag is 'clipped' in. No was I was looking there!

coolant expansion bottle
I'm def going to do this, just in case I can't see the bag!
-
coolant expansion bottle
Oh wow, I thought the bag was visible in the middle and mine was removed! How have people been removing theirs?! I guess I won't be able to see where that person's was.... Spose I better get a new expansion bottle.... Just to clarify, no silica bag means you need g12evo, or the new expansion bottle has silicat in a vertical plastic tube, which someone mentions could be the case above?

Brake disc size
I was looking at m-tec, but they didn't have some stuff in stock and I wanted to do it now.

Discs and pads
My off side started ok, but the nearside took a spanner on the tool to get it going. Wasn't too bad once started.

Brake disc size
Just as I mentioned EBC brakes, I fitted them over this weekend. Went for plain discs and yellow stuff pads. I did want drilled, or slotted for a sportier look, but my brother has cracked discs like this before, so thought I'd just stick with plains. But initial impression is they are quite good, initial bite seems very impressive from cold. My only quibble is, the rear discs were all black and as you bed them in, the surfaces go silver and leaves a black hub center and outtet edge. The fronts were their 'gen 2' discs which are only black on the hub and silver only the outer edge, but I wanted black! I could have phoned up and swapped them, but instead I just sprayed them black, with some heat resistance paint. Hopefully it lasts a while! I also sprayed the rear disc guards wit h galv spray, then black, as they were a bit rusty.

Discs and pads
Unless the electric parking brake calipers are different? Reading above, looks like he has those. I've never had dealings with them.

Discs and pads
I literally just did my brakes and not sure which one I used, kit had both and just used the one that worked, lol.

Eco mode
I can get more mpg in eco mode, but that's probably as I'm trying as I'm in that mode!

Slightly oily spark plug
I'm not doing it, that amount of oil over 37k isn't a worry for now. We don't do many miles. I'll check in 6 months and see what it's like, but it'll prob only have another 3k miles by then.
