  1. There was already one forum member with Mamba Green, polish if I remember correctly - car delivered last year (?). I haven't seen him for quite a while now - I guess he's busy enjoying his car... 🙃
  2. Welcome to the (not so exclusive) "waiting_for_my_Octavia" Club!!! Feel free to fill in your details on the club-membership list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17h4myLSMpZ3dohgDJX25mkOhKLbyepEaeEeYcA3AqFY/edit#gid=0
  3. Don't you have a setting in the head-unit that needs to be "ON" for those lights to work? I used to have similar lights under the external mirrors of my Megane GT, and I kept those to "OFF" all the time - there was a dedicated setting in the car configuration menu. l.e. I think they were called "courtesy lights" or "welcoming lights"
  4. 👍 ALL Octavias have now estimated delivery Q3.2023: https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html This used to be the "privilege" of the IV mk4, not TSI and TDI... 🤔
  5. That's really odd, to say the least! The only piece of info I ever got in 11 months, was the VIN of the car last week. She told me the car was still at the factory, complete production not yet confirmed, but she was convinced it's not going into "banking" - apparently they can see that in the system quite soon in the production process.
  6. Not sure about that, but I'm afraid that it means what most of us fear: incomplete production in March and sent to a parking lot waiting for the missing components. Are you sure they cannot give you a status update? My dealer told me last week that she can see in their system if the car is sent to "banking" or not.
  7. Yesterday I got the first piece of actual info: my car has a VIN (I never had a provisional build-week from my dealer). According to the dealer there's no complete-build status in the system, but she said the good news is that the car will not go into "banking" waiting for components - apparently they can see that in the system. I really wasn't expecting any news, since it's been only 11 months since I placed the order. BTW: I checked the VIN in MySkoda App and I got the error message, so it's probably too soon.
  8. I was really wondering about that... On the plus side: I started "working" for free points after I placed the order for my mk4, so by now I accumulated 1.299 points. Now having the car to use the points on, is a different story... ☹️
  9. there it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17h4myLSMpZ3dohgDJX25mkOhKLbyepEaeEeYcA3AqFY/edit#gid=0
  10. It could be done via OBD11 or VCSD for Octavia before MK4 (up to mk3.5), but I haven't seen any tutorial or step-by-step guide for MK4 so far; so not sure about how complicated it might be on the new system. But as @ApertureS said earlier, if you don't do it the proper way (sending the new car config to VAG servers), any major system update might "uncode" the camera.
  11. One can easily find aftermarket cam-kits on aliexpress somewhere around 100 Euro, with the wiring included. However, installing and coding it is not plug-and-play.
  12. I'm afraid that would be a mirror on top of the original mirror, since your dealer probably doesn't want to bother with coding an original camera into the system of the car. Another downside I read about is that when coding (retrofitting) a reverse camera, it's highly likely that when a major infotainment update is performed, the camera might be disabled. That's because the OTA update is tailored to the factory specs of the car... Which means one might need to code the camera into the system again (and again...). Octavia MY21 had the reverse camera optional for Style trim; by the end of 2021 they asked me if I would give up that option when they were sure I would receive the MY22 (or even MY23). So I agreed to the Addendum to the Contract, hoping it would lead to less delay - since current Style trim no longer offers reverse cam as an option. However, the dealer told me they will be able to install and activate the camera with on-screen display, but I should beware of the price - it will be much more expensive than the factory one...
  13. There's a Gaussian distribution for the delivery times, with 12 months average and 2-3 months sigma... 🤕
  14. By the looks of those delivery estimates we should all order Arteon - it's the fastest delivery. Crazy things happening with Octavia new orders and there's not much official info to explain the delays. My dealer told me months ago that no new orders are accepted for PHEV Octavia; then, about 1 or 2 months ago she told me that for unknown reasons there are big delays for TSI engines (non-PHEV). I remeber replying to her that this was "good news" for those ordering TDI's... 😉 However, I don't see similar delays for other VAG cars - at least on that web-site that seems to be quite accurate for the Octavia delays. The other "step-child" of the group (Seat & Cupra) has pretty decent delivery estimates for their cars; even PHEV has an estimation of about 10 months... So WTH???
  15. 2y4m for a VRS TDI??? 🤔 What did you ask for? Platinum brake disks and gold engine cover? I doubt I would keep waiting if I were in your unfortunate situation. BTW, what was the initial delivery estimation?
  16. Thanks! But my expectations are not that high... I'm actually mentally prepared to receive it next year 😒 As a proof of that state of mind, I just payed ~1.000E yesterday for a major servicing of my old Megane which is my daily driver. It included new timing belt kit, complete accessory belt kit, water pump and fresh fluids, new front shock absorbers and the associated bearings, plus the normal maintenance (oil + all filters). The cost was about half the car value 🤔, but it's worth it - the car is in great shape, and I still love it. It looks like it will still be my ride for this year's vacation (or vacations if we include next winter). Coming back to the Octy: I'm now 8 months after the order and still have no news about it's production. So let me congratulate you: at least your car exists (even though incomplete yet)! Mine is still virtual 👻
  17. Quite surprised by your delay for 1.5 TSI, but this is inline with what my dealer told me some days ago (I mentioned it here, several posts back). She said they no longer accept orders for Octavia PHEV (at least here in Romania), but what puzzled me by far was that she mentioned huge delays for TSI engines; she didn't specify which TSI - the 1.5 or the 2.0. And I was even more surprised by the info she gave me, since those delays are completely unrelated to my order (2.0 TDI DSG, Style++), for which the only thing I know is that it's scheduled for production - no week specified though... I was also told that the delivery will be around 6 months, but I'm now more than 7 months after the order with no specified delivery date...
  18. How much did the price go up? I'm guessing you're talking about the price of your car - that's not a good sign. Wow!!! Didn't see that coming... Wireless charger was supposed to be an easy one, not a big deal such as more advanced electronics... 😒
  19. Test-drove a new Tucson when it was launched and the most annoying thing about that car was the amount of piano-black all around the interior (black-glossy plastic, whatever it is called from one brand to another). Sometimes I think some of the automotive engineers never drove a car in their entire life. The last thing you need as a driver are random reflections shining into your eyes in various situations, out of your control; not to mention the fingerprint and dust magnet... It's possible that in the "sunny" UK you might have a different perspective on that type of material, but AFAIK the new Sportage is also packed with shiny surfaces.
  20. That seems about wright; I didn't know about that, and searched the web -> some pictures below: later.edit. Last picture is even clearer - found it directly on GMaps among the pictures from the factory
  21. AFAIK wire looms were not an issue for Octavia; it might have been one for the PHEV (the HV wiring -> Ukraine), but not for the MHEV and for ICE. So that sounds really strange! Just to clarify: I'm not having any illusions concerning the car being delivered. The dealer said the status is the same: "scheduled for production / unknown week #" whatever the hell that means 🤬
  22. that sounds about wright... in my case, my configuration is now about 4 kE more expensive, and missing a few of the "minor" options I got as packs when I placed the order. On a different note, but on our topic, I discussed today with my dealer and she said there are some delays for TSI engines - I didn't ask and she didn't go into more details; so I don't know which of the TSI engines. But it was sort of a "good news" for TDI that might move forward in production (that means sooner) because of those TSI delays. For the PHEV the situation is the same as last month (at least in Romania) - they do not accept new orders.
  23. Indeed, that was a major problem for the last two months (Feb. and March), but that factory is running since March 22nd already. However, I doubt that once they recover from the door panel issue there will be no more delays on Octavia deliveries - so they must have some other missing parts. IMO those are mainly electronics. I also noticed the east-west (Europe) unbalance; southeastern Europe is more diesel-happy than the west, and the brains behind automotive marketing know that very well.
  24. I'm really surprised to see the stock for Superb in Romania is now up to 104 (66 diesel, 2 PHEV, 36 petrol); I wonder what's the management idea behind this strategy. They build up stock for one model, while under-producing the more demanded one. I can assume some of the electronics (control units) are the same for the two models, just coded differently.
  25. Yep, the terms for Octy IV are insane; 1-2 months ago they were no longer accepting orders for the PHEV, at least here in RO. The well-known delivery-estimation DE webpage says: Q3.2023 delivery for an IV ordered now. Really looking forward to hear about some of you long-waiting clients receive your cars; at least those with "in production" status for the past month, now that the factory is recovering from the door panel crisis.
