Delivery times?
It's ok, most of us here are waiting for OLD cars 🙃... Some are close to one year (if not longer). No news on my order.

12 volt socket
Same here, I'll need 2x12V sockets once the car will arrive. I also gave some thought to the issue and I'm thinking about using the flowing solution: - buy one splitter (2 or 3 slots) with cable on it from the factory (similar to the one in the picture below, but the original connector at the end of the cable will have to go...); - buy one fuse adapter such as one in the picture, add a fuse according to whatever you plan to power up, and connect the fuse adapter directly to the fuse box of the car -> you'll also have the choice between permanent 12V or accessory 12V - as you wish; - somehow (not sure how yet - maybe a very good quality double-tape) fix the splitter in position under the central vents of the dashboard; I noticed the space under there is quite generous, and since the phone charger is below, I can't imagine myself placing anything else down there besides the phone. In your case the cable would go from the lower-back of the central vents, through the back of the glove compartment to the fuse-box. In my case it will go from the lower-back of the vents, close to the steering column to the fuse-box. I also thought about using a long cable from the trunk as you suggest, but I'd hate such a long trajectory, hiding the cable under the plastics at the bottom of the doors, and finally: permanently block the socket in the trunk (not that I have any plans for it).

Octavia iV Estate - flat 12v battery
Hmm... could you give us more hints? ...better in what way, which parameters? Afaik -20s regime is well outside the EV's comfort zone. By the way, where do you mostly use you car - that makes you worry so much about very cold weather, even below -20?

Wow! it's so quiet around here that we can almost hear the door panels being built...

I don't know, just read the posts starting this morning... yeah... I'm sure it's part of the Russian "special operation" in Europe 🙃

Delivery times?
A bit panicked by the "great" news that we saw today on this topic (the 1.5 TSI with 19 months waiting time and the TDI vRS with 15 months waiting) I sent a quick question to my dealer this afternoon. She said they have no info about extra delays on top of the existing ones: the known PHEV delays and the door panels delay estimated to 3-4 months. She repeated: "when I'll see a status change in the system I'll let you know". I was almost happy 🙈. Human nature is so weird... I used to be angry not getting any status for the car; now I'm starting to be happy about it - it might mean I could get the car within the Contract term. So I'm afraid I'll soon adopt the ostrich strategy - head in the sand... As long as my old car works I'll simply assume "no news is good news".

Delivery times?
On Skoda Romania: Octavia stock is down to 1 car (1.5 mhev manual Ambitition @24.500 euro), but there are 66 Superb in stock (53 diesel, 2 PHEV, 11 petrol). Renault Romanian stock is a bit different - cars are not in stock today (those are quite few), but there are pre-configured cars with delivery terms in June, July, August etc. There are more than 600 cars to be delivered until the end of September, various models and specs. I wouldn't say it's such a long wait... Don't know too much about other car brands. @Neil99: the door panel issue is not surprising. The time predictions were that they would need 2-3 months to get back in production after the fire at the end of January. That means they should be able to restart producing those components in the next 4-5 weeks, not sooner than that.

Delivery times?
What configuration did you order? Was it a MHEV or a PHEV? I'm asking because for the IV models they announced some weeks ago they will have big delays, and dealers were not taking any new orders (at least here in Romania). Just trying to figure out what's the reason for the delay... So far we knew about inner door panels (say... +3 months???) and PHEV (q2-q3 2023?). On the other hand - was there a maximum delivery term on the Contract when you placed the order? If so, what did they say about the delay - do you have to agree to an addendum to the Contract with the new delivery estimation? I'm asking 'cause my order is also placed in August '21 - but different model as you can see in the signature - and the maximum delivery term by Contract was 45 weeks. And so far they don't seem to go beyond that term, since they told me a month ago that the car is scheduled for production (without knowing when... 🤕).

2021 Mark IV Octavia Combi Style TD85/2.0 M6F poor performance in 6th gear when cold
As you can deduce from my signature, I've been driving 2 diesel engines (for quite some time and mileage), older one manual-gearbox and newer one a dual-clutch automatic. Indeed, if you allow the automatic to change in Eco mode or even in Comfort mode it has a tendency to keep the engine at low-revs, unless better response is asked by driver via accelerator. So I've seen it up-shifting and falling to revs even below 1500 rpm, but on that engine it was not a real problem (enough power and great torque at low revs); and if it was needed the kick-down was quite fast... On the manual gearbox and the lower-power engine it's a different story (in my case), the engine is not happy at all at low revs when cold (behavior/response and sound are different). The phenomenon that you describe @Mul57 is quite normal when the engine is cold, I wouldn't consider it a technical issue. Try to change to 6th gear at slightly higher speed, such that you fall closer to 2.000 rpm or even above - at least when the engine is cold.

Delivery times?
Oh yeah... That video is from the good-old-times when they were able to build more than 1.100 Octys a day... I doubt that this was still achievable in the past 12-18 months. Maybe on some exceptional days when they managed to have enough stock for all the components; but the daily average over several months is surely smaller than that. They don't need to drive the cars over the entire distance to "banking" site - they transport via trains or trucks. However, I'm not sure how they deal with those cars that are missing drive-needed components (e.g. injection computer, engine or gearbox electronics etc.); I'm guessing they're able to lift the cars on the transport platforms.

Delivery times?
Yep, that makes a lot of sense; most of the info at the time of the fire was predicting that rebuild time would be 2-3 months - which leads somewhere between the end of March and end of April. It would be expected that once completed, that factory would work 24/7 to partially recover from "negative-stock" of inner door-panels . From that point on, I would imagine further delay will occur: cars being already built but incomplete, will have to be returned from "banking" (I was told this is how they call the process of storing an incomplete car on a remote parking-lot) back to the factory in order to finish the car and go through QC. I'm not sure how fast they will do that; last time they did it officially, they were stopping production due to lack of components and they decided to complete some 10.000 unfinished Octavias...

Tested and working coding Octavia mk4
Not quite sure I understand what you're looking for (since I'm not yet connected to my "virtual" Octavia - still waiting for it), but are you looking for this sort of mods? Check the link below, at minute 7:20 - is that it? I know it's a Golf 7.5, but you might get some hints from the video

Of course, they all graduated the Marketing School "cum laudae"! Why publicly announce bad news, when you can simply omit that piece of info? That way they can't be accused of lying...

Delivery times?
So it fits the delivery estimation given on that webpage... it arrived even faster than estimated. The estimation is given for currently ordered cars - that's the time someone who orders now should wait for his car. However, that estimation dynamically changes depending on various factors (semiconductors, fire @factory, war etc.). Obviously, when you have a car on order (such as mine) already 7 months ago, and suddenly the delivery estimation increases from N-months to N+4 months, you can also expect your car to be delayed also, if it was not already in production when the cause of the delay occurred.

Delivery times?
You're such lucky clients... having either the car built (even though incomplete) or knowing a build week (even a shifting one). I've never had a build week, and it's been 7 months since I placed the order. The best piece of info I got was "your car is scheduled for production" without them (dealership) knowing when/what that means - so in the current overall context it could be very well mean next year. 🤕 On the bright side: the turtle might beat the rabbit... not on arrival time, but on delivered product - we might get the facelift, as @Dado82 was (seriously-) joking.

Delivery times?
For a brief amount of time there were several Octavias on stock here too. But there's a major downside for someone who ordered the car at least six months ago - the price increase. Last month there was a similar Octy to the one that I configured, but the price difference was huge, somewhere close to 20%. It had a few options I didn't want for myself, but still the price difference was too much. As long as my old car still runs, I can wait; however, the delay is still annoying...

Skoda Octavia mk4 Digital Instrument Display
Come on guys, I'm still waiting for my car and I knew about this "feature"... 😉 Have a look at this drive test - the "visual effect" you mention here is visible starting at minute 13:40 - dashboard image is shown as inset:

Delivery times?
Here we can't complain about local police (at least on the car delivery competition 😉 ), since most of their new cars are Dacia. They had quite a big contract with VW, but that was some years ago, when life was good, we had no chip-shortage, no pandemic, no freakin' war...

2021 Mark IV Octavia Combi Style TD85/2.0 M6F poor performance in 6th gear when cold
Just curious: when you change to 6th gear at about 90kmph, what's the rpm? If I correctly understand your signature (and you have the 2.0TDI 116bhp) you might expect the engine to be happy at low revs, but when not up to working temp - it's quite normal to under-perform.

No internet connection.
WTH is that??? That sounds crazy!!! I don't quite get it... Were those pins inserted through the empty-tubular part of the rubber seal? Once you go in for periodical service, you should ask the guys if they've heard about some Audi missing their pins... 😀

Delivery times?
The factory in Russia was producing cars for the Russian market only (which I read was the 2nd largest market for Skoda) - so it has no impact on European models. According to Skoda quoted by media these last days, the factory in Ukraine (partner factory, not Skoda) will only impact the Enyaq IV production for Europe, not other models. Sorry, I don't remember precisely what were the models that were receiving parts from the factory that burned in Jan. However, it was mentioned in the automotive press at that time - maybe you can find some useful links in the posts on this topic (I also added several links). Kamiq is also assembled in Mlada Boleslav, so it's quite likely that some plastic parts for it were also produced by the Skoda partner that was affected by the fire.

Adding a wireless charger
+1 I also think it's a real fail in automotive industry; plenty of brands using it nowadays. It's a great fingerprint magnet, it shows every-single spec of dust - it's horrible when seen in full sunshine... I've already planned to apply some foil whenever the car will be delivered. I'll try to find some transparent-matte foil (didn't bother to look for it yet); it can be removed later-on if needed, and the plastic behind will be unharmed.

Delivery times?
Strange enough, I saw it on the MediaRoom-page of Skoda, next to the announcement concerning the "situation in Ukraine" dated March 1st, but now I can't find it: https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/media-room/?state=NEW&aid=2f1pd825-ut1n-3y9w-2vop-j9oba7lv39dg&or=www.skoda-storyboard.com However, the info was taken over by those guys (it also shows March 1st): https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/skoda-cuts-output-enyaq-electric-suv-due-ukraine-crisis Skoda it's also quoted here: https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/vws-skoda-limits-some-output-due-ukraine-production-russia-still-running-2022-03-01/ and both articlles are pin-pointing Enyaq IV specifically... When the fire occurred (end of January I think) it completely destroyed the building and the production line for plastic components (namely door panels among other) of a Skoda subcontractor. On top of that, the fire destroyed all the stock panels on site (those produced until the fire). It's a strange & particular situation with this supplier: since it was located only ~3km away from the Skoda factory, the stock panels were stored on the site of the supplier (It was mentioned by Czech press at the time of the fire). A rough estimation of the delay is given by the time needed to rebuild the site that was destroyed and to assemble a new production line for plastic injection; so my guess at that time was ~3 months. It was recently confirmed by my dealer who told me that Skoda said: "3-4 months delay caused by the fire in January".

What was the maximum delivery term indicated in the original Contract when you placed the order? If it was shorter than 42 weeks, did they ask for a prolongation? Or is it simply implied by default?

The good, the (not so) bad and definitely not ugly Octavia iV Estate
Isn't it cheaper and also faster using a "tin can" as a Faraday cage for your key fob?
