Maybe. Personally I'd be OK with the tyre size increase (2.6% increase in circumference, 18mm taller overall, so the car will sit 9mm higher), but the question is the wheel width and offset. Both should be stamped on the inner side of the wheel spokes. Should be something like 18x8.5J (diameter x width) and ET40 (offset).

No doubts there, that's an easy fit.

Lovely colour, wish ours was Lava Blue. Also wish I could find a nice set of 18s for ours too, but in VAG OEM wheel land there seems to be nothing between 18x8 ET44 (Superb) and 18x8.5 ET29 (A5) which is a bit too aggressive.

I tried this on my 162TSI (220 for other markets) and noticed no difference at all. Never noticed any issue with throttle lag/responsiveness.

IMO the brakes look bigger with the aftermarket wheels because of the stepped barrel.

As far as I can tell, 4.8s for the Golf R is using launch control, and 5.8s for the Superb is without launch control. Here's a comparison of a stock Superb using launch control to do a 5.3s 0-100, and remapped doing 4.5s -

Likely correct to some extent, but the PS4 is often criticised compared to its main Goodyear and Continental alternatives for not having stiff enough sidewalls, to the detriment of steering feel and turn-in response.

Skoda's got the Kodiaq down as 630L with the 3rd row folded, and the Superb at 660L, but the loading lip of the Superb is a lot lower. 2nd row folds flatter in the Kodiaq than the Superb. Might not have quite the low end punch, but the 206TSI is good for 0-100 in low 5s, and the Kodiaq is high 6s. Superb is 258kg lighter!

Couldn't say, I haven't paid much attention to it on the PS4 I've seen on other cars. Photos of them aren't helping much either. My Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5s have excellent rim protection though (on my other car which is running 235/40R18 and 255/35R18). I've been really happy with them, and reviews say they're comparable to the PS4 with better steering response.

Might be market dependent? My 220 has the 205/55R16 spare. I just looked, no specs marked on the steel wheel like there usually are with alloy wheels though. I'd guess you'd need at least a 17" wheel to clear the 340mm brakes on the 272/280 though.

If you've been happy with the P7s (at 6 years old they'll be well past their prime), the PS4 will still be a solid upgrade. PS4S won't be necessary or worth it unless you're a B-road thrasher, IMO. That said it depends on what's available where you are, in Australia you usually have the choice of PS4 or PS4S in a given size, not both.

Having had matte black wheels before, I wouldn't do it again. Barely looks clean, even when clean. That said, kerbing/scratches can be hidden with a permanent marker

Thanks, I'm aware of the difference to stock fitment - question is more about rubbing/scrubbing with the Audi fitment. The tyre itself also has a lot to do with rim protection - my other car has 235/40R18 Goodyear F1A5s on 18x8.5 wheels and they still have very generous rubber lip that protects it from the kerb. Is the 2 metre width restriction a UK or Europe thing? Doesn't exist in Australia.

Can see a number of people have 19x8.5 ET35 which fits fine, has anyone tried a 19x8.5 ET32? Common ex-Audi size. Looks marginal, but the wheels are cheap.
