  1. I assume it's Canton amplifier that needs firmware upgrade, not head unit. In Canton DSP is built in the amplifier. Making a video and/or frequency response measurements should be enough of a proof. If they still refuse to take care of it, try to contact Skoda distributor directly. If thast doesn't help, you could probably try reporting it to consumers rights bureau (i assume there is one in HU, as you are in EU).
  2. How about if you used better microphone for recording? You could also use application for spectrum analysis, to show frequency response. This will show, that EQ is changing to flat, as difference will be clearly visible in the graph. What i meant about recreating this, is if it's happening immidiately after engine is off or car locked, and than unlocked again, or is it happening after some time. Because if it's reset immidiately, it should be fairly easy to show by recording with good mic and/or taking frequency reponse before and after reset.
  3. If that's what it gets to fix the issues, than they should do it under warranty i guess. Is it resetting settings immidiately, or after some time? Maybe you could try to find a way to recreate it in a way, that could be recorded.
  4. This tread should help you: https://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/14149/auto-high-bendy-light-error Fixed it using those instructions. Or maybe not fixed per se, because before coding i already knew it will be required (found out by Googling for something else).
  5. Voltas cannot change it, except to warn users. No matter if it's manual coding or one click app. Whenever something is changed in 4B coding, one need to perform basic settings. It has nothing to do with OBD11, as same thing happens with VCDS or VCP. It's just how controller is working. But i agree, especially with one click app they should provide instructions on how to get your current settings, and how to perform basic settings (using your old values) after coding.
  6. @Avi1407make a photo of your headlights and we will tell you whether they are matrix or not. As for instruction, i will need to dig it, but just now leaving for a business trip, so will have limited access to computer. You can try to look on OBD11 forums in Golf 8 or Golf 7 sections. This is where i found it.
  7. When changing any coding in 4B module, you need to perform basic settings. Basic settings for the lights (last error) is just about auto-leveling. You can stop the car on level ground, remove eveything from the trunk if you have anything, and perform basic settings. As for matrix - do you even have matrix headlights? If so, than: 1. Why did you want to enable them in the first place? If matrix are installed on the car, they are enabled. 2. Have you taken full backup of 4B module prior to coding? a. If yes, than go to backup, live data and note matrix headlights "horizontal angle reference segment left, in angular minutes" and same for right headlight. Based on that you can run basic settings and provide this data. b. If not, you are screwed. You need to visit dealership for matrix calibration. If you don't have actualy matrix headlights, just reverse the codings you did, and perform headlights basic settings (again - on level gorund, with empty car). Last error is just indication, that you have used SFD unlock. You can click on SFD in OBD11 and lock the module, error will clear. You need to be careful when coding, as in some cases you may hurt your car, like in this case. ALWAYS take backup of the control module prior to ANY coding!
  8. Not expectng big difference, and it's not about this 1,6dB extra. Additional power can help with even better speaker control. Also in this case it's not only additional power, but also higher supply (hence output) voltage, which might make yet another small difference to sound quality. Good thing is, that i have this option and it's rather simple, so why not? It will definitely not make things worse About power handling, you might be right, although in the spec they do not say it's with one channel driven (which they should, if this is the case). In reality for me it makes little difference, i was rather just pointing it out I'm anyway (for now at least) using sound focus for front seats, which means rear is much more quiet, hence not using same power as front. Besides i have never went past 2/3 of the scale, which is loud enough for me, so will probably never use full power of the amp.
  9. @Edelawell, seems like your biggest issue is your delaership. Majority of issues been fixed already with software updates. I think only one that is not really fixed is capacitive steering wheel issue (TA/Emergency assist errors), but there's a TPI for that, saying that dealership should propose to user to temporarily disable TA, so no more errors will come. I guess they haven't even proposed that to you. Try to find another dealership maybe? Yes, VAG messed up badly with software in those cars (Octavia, Golf, Leon), but now most of the issues been fixed. At least i'm enjoying the car very much, despite occassional TA error.
  10. Well, having a garage, haven;t really thought of that I just need some time, which is currently not that easy.
  11. This topic kind of died, so let's revive it Anyone did anything more? What's the results? I have done rear door, but not same way as front. This time butyl mats are only in the lower triangle, below the reinforcement. Didn't want to remove the window, so appied only there, where i could reach using opening for the speaker (did that while replacing rear speakers). For door trim used 10mm foam. Again it got a bit more quiet inside, with less noise from the tires. Yep, seems a lot of this noise os coming through the doors Next i'm planning to: 1. Apply mats and foam to the hood 2. Apply additional 10mm of foam to front doors 3. Wheel arches in front (for now) 4. Maybe floor in the front, without removing chairs.
  12. No, didn't run it (yet). Axton can be powered from plug&play ISO harness, taking power from car's Quadlock connector (same as head unit), OR using separate connection. Haven't seen separate fuse for ISO harness power, separate power connector has own fuse, 20 amps. Thing is, that when powering it from ISO, it has (according to spec) 50W per channel RMS. When powering it using separate connection however, it has 76W RMS (again - spec, cause it doesn't really sound right, if you think of 20A fuse - it would have to have nearly 100% efficiency, which is not possible even with class D). Additionally when powering it with separate power, it has a built-in step-up converter, which allows power amp to use higher supply voltage, but i don't know what that voltage is. Anyway, there is no need for separate power, and it sounds really good (+has DSP). But i'm plunning to run additional cable in some time. Will take power from fuxe box, from connector meant for Canton AMP. This way it will be a simple run inside of the vehicle. Edit: Just checked. Stock head unit uses 20A fuse.
  13. In theory, based on previous generations, FL came 4 years after launch. So would be reasonble to expect FL after summer break in 2023 (cars made after August 2023, MY2024). But considering current situation it's hard to say if it will happen.
  14. And it knows it from where? Yes, sat-nav and maps Works perfectly, at least here in Poland.
  15. No, not really. Dipped beam uses both modules. One that is only for dipped beam and gives flat line, and one that is used for high beam, which adds light on the right side (in EU, left side in UK). Also dipped beam can be dynamic, which means it "imitates" turning of the light, by using matrix segments. Also both modules consist of multiple matrix segments.
  16. Doesn't matter, as long as you have Bolero (don't know if it's same for lower infotaiment). Maps are there, used in the background for some systems. Edit: This is about Tuareg, but works same way in Octavia. https://www.volkswagen.is/is/um-volkswagen/timarit/Headlights_Innovation_Technology.html "Seventy-five LEDs are used for low and high beam. Seven front LEDs (in five reflector chambers) and three indicator LEDs are also available. All of them are activated for various intelligent lighting functions by the Touareg’s electronics. The decisive factors are signals from the front camera, digital map data from the navigation system, GPS signals, steering movement and current speed."
  17. Haven't checked the rear, however looking at how my front Focals now sound with Axton A592DSP, i highly doubt there is such curve. To me it seems at least fronts are full range, maybe with some subsonic filter. By me ear currently i'm getting roughly 40Hz, maybe lower, with all settings flat (on infotaiment and amp DSP).
  18. Bolero has built-in sat-nav, even if it's not visible for the user (however this option can be bought by user in Skoda shop). It has maps pre-installed, and car is using those maps for pACC, matrix headlights, AFS (ok, this option is enabled by default) and probably some other systems.
  19. Actually you can, granted you will check first if... satnav knows the road and sends that info to matrix controller. How it works, is that on multi-lane roads it knows, it should disable high beam on the right side (in UK, left side in mainland Europe), so that you're not dazzling cars coming from opposite direction, but still you get better visibility. Works perfectly on majority of highways in Poland, and at least some (i would assume all) in Germany.
  20. Yes, i know that's the theory. But could be done in a bit different way, i.e. very slight movement up or down once in a while, not only when wipers are on. That would make more sense.
  21. No, that's not what i mean. I meant, that there was no OTA with major update so far, at least i haven't heard of it. If you want to update from 1896 to 1898 you need to visit dealership. In theory it's possible to have OTA, but for some reason they are not releasing it. There are rumors, that soon they will start the OTA process, but those are just rumors.
  22. Actually i'm not sure if new module is needed. I got some OTA few weeks ago, and since that time i haven't had a single "pop pop" or disconnection. So either it was magically fixed by itself, i was extremely lucky during last weeks, or they were able to fix it with a software patch.
  23. Well, seems it's not that simple after all I assume that it's a hardware design flaw, which they are trying to work around with a software. If it was really a simple software fix, would be fixed already. BUT if they are looking at replacing hundreds of k of steering wheel (among different brands), it would be a huge cost, hence decision to try to find a software fix. But just guessing here...
  24. But should you judge the engine based on age, or mileage? There are quite many 1.5 TSI's with well over 200kkm, or even 300kkm driven. It's popular engine for company cars. In case of major mechanical flaws, we knew it very soon (EA111, EA888). Since 1.5 is on the market for 5 years, and there is no interent s*it-storm, i would assume they are really ok. Of course my assumption can be wrong, but at the moment that's all we can do (with some level of being certain ). That's one case, first i have heard about. Could really happen to every other turbo engine, especially that we have no idea how the car was used, and what really happened. That's true, but it was more or less fixed. Some still get SOME kangaroo, but at least without lack of accelerator issue, that happened in the very beginning. We will, but i'm not expecting anything bad really. So far we havent heard about any major issues with GPF in any car. After 5 years DPF already had a very bad reputation, so they do not really seem comparable. Well, yes. And we also know that despite some changes, they haven't really got rid of those flaws completely. Less issues now (especially with mechatronics and housing), but it still happens. Ok, maybe i have misunderstood you. If that is the case, than i apologize
  25. Yes, that's a "feature" in all VAG cars since years. Had it in 5F Leon also. Am not really sure what's the purpose of it though. Well would be surprised if it was up to it Having said that, i also have to say it's ALMOST up to the same level as CLA Merc which i was considering, despite being MUCH cheaper. Yeah, Merc is better, but for me it was slightly better. If it was much better, i would've bought it 3 series is comparable to C-class Merc. That's better than O4, but not really light years ahead. It does, but coming from another VAG it's not that hard. It's still similar to MIB2 and 2.5 cars. Unlike new Seat infotaiment, which i truly HATE. Having driven 1000km in new Leon, i never got used to it. It's so counterintuitive for me, and i work in IT for last 20 years, so thought i have seen it all
