I have used seller glavanesti on eBay a number of times to buy full VIN decodes (ie build specifications) for VAG cars in my family. The price is €3 and the details are provided very promptly by email.
  2. I bought and recoded the same replacement battery for my 2015 Fabia 3 last year. Change 59 to 65 and 1111111111 to 1111111112. Leave EFB and JCB unchanged.
  3. I own a 2016 Fabia 1.2TSI SE L with the same headlight and discovered a hairline crack from top to bottom after investigating the source of excessive condensation inside the unit. Mammoth clear weatherproof tape stopped the leak and the car passed an MOT without any comment on that temporaryrepair. I am about to sell the Fabia and decided to replace the headlight before doing so. The part number is as above - 6V2.941.016.B - and is made by Hella. I have the old unit and can confirm that lens is not replaceable separately. I had the replacement done by an Independent VAG specialist. The part was sourced from TPS and cost £382 while labour including headlight realignment was £96.
  4. My understanding is that you will need to buy an identical alloy wheel and tyre size if you don't want to be subject to speed and distance restrictions in the event of a puncture.
  5. The one in the first post? There is currently one for sale on eBay.

  7. Tanya are very competitive for batteries and deliver next day. Their price for the Yuasa YBX5027 is £81.21. I recently changed my Yeti batttery and it is easy to DIY, with no coding required if you car doesn't have stop-start. PS I didn't need to cut the cloth insulation.
  8. My 2015 Yeti doesn't have stop-start so no coding was required when I replaced the battery last year. However my wife's 2016 Fabia does have stop-start and the recent new battery did need coding.
  9. 943 for my 2015 Yeti 1.2TSI Outdoor. Without doubt one of the best cars I have. owned.
  10. Shouldn't the new battery have been coded differently to the old one, eg 1111111112, to let the system know it has been changed?
  11. On my 2002 Octavia 1.8T 4x4 the engine build date was 4 weeks before the car build date. I think my 2007 Fabia vRS was the same.
  12. From the OP's first post on Briskoda the car is a Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI ACT SE DSG Euro 6.
  13. Have you read the first thread in this forum which is about timing chain failures? On page 7 you will see information on the fault codes which could indicate that this is the problem affecting your engine.
  14. I own a 2015 Yeti Outdoor Elegance 1.2TSI DSG with loads of extras. The engine is the 105PS with a timing chain rather than the 110PS with a cam belt which you are considering. In nearly 60 years of driving it is one of the nicest and most practical of cars I have owned. I couldn't get a comfortable driving position in my previous 2010 Octavia II 1.8TSI Estate whereas the heated leather electric driver's seat in the Yeti is extremely adjustable and very comfortable. The car has recently had a P-Torque remap which has increased power to 130hp and torque to 215Nm - modest increases which improve overtaking performance noticeably and are well matched to the DSG. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Yeti but would not buy one with a sunroof given that leaks are problematic and potentially expensive to cure.

  16. Been there and done that. You will have to go plastic then return the paper licence once you have the 21st century version.
  17. Could my entry please be removed from the list, ie: Central - Little Paxton/St Neots = DGW = HEX+CAN
  18. Ask the supplying dealer for printout the Vehicle Data information held on their Skoda computer system. Apart from showing full details of the status, contract type and start and finish dates for the warranty, it also lists all the PR numbers (option codes) and their descriptions for your car's full build. The vehicle data sticker in the boot of my Yeti lists 45 Pr numbers whereas the Vehicle Data printout lists all 207.
  19. Starter dead but all other electrics working? When mine did this the cause was a broken feed (exciter wire?) from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. The wire was broken where it went into the connector plug at the solenoid. I believe that it is a very common fault. The RAC patrolman identified the fault almost immediately.
