  1. Hello/Privet! Welcome to forum!
  2. Hi, looks like you are doing your own investigation of water ingress, well done as I didn't risk it and took it to dealer. They found a leak and this is the one I never expected - the leak was from rear door speaker! They removed the interior and did water test and the water was passing there! They fixed and at the moment the car is dry (tanks God) but I haven't used the air-con yet and I need to do that, it might be the issue also. I hope you can sort yours! Please report on your findings. Regards
  3. Hi there, welcome to forum! What Octavia did you get this time?
  4. Dropped the car off at the dealer, got Superb instead, 2.0TDI DSG. Nice car, long wheel base makes the difference to ride comfort, I noticed that I generally can go quicker (at least 10mph) over speedbumps on Superb than I would do in Karoq, weird as Karoq is a SUV and should handle potholes, speed bumps better. You can feel Superb has much lower CoG the way it handles. The wheels are the same size, 18 inch. The Superb is quieter too and space at the back is limo like! This Superb has fantastic DSG, is it DQ250? Works very well, very smooth too, not as good as CVT but compared to my Karoq it is day and night. Not sure anyone is interested in the above but here it is a small summary from me. Dealer doesn't know what caused the leak so they will be investigating it for the next few days.
  5. Many thanks @kodiaqsportline, decent advices and a good background to have in any scenario this might go. I also hope they know what to check and where to start to find a leak and I only pray it is only one location. The car is always parked outside and it is going to be pretty wet for the next couple of days, it will keep the carpet wet but least likely to show the path water takes and the garage will need to perform their own testing. Yesterday I removed my winter mat so the carpet can "breath" and placed the newspaper over, the thing is - the wetness is only close to passenger seat and closer to transmission tunnel, it is not like the whole passenger footwell is soaking wet, well, not yet at least as it might be just a beginning of the end. I have no idea what the cause they might find but I hope they will so we can sort it once and for all. I hope their service dept is good. They booked a courtesy car for me (Kamiq I think, 1.0ltr Manual) but never mentioned if I have to pay for it or it will be taken care for dealer so when I come on Tuesday they might try to take some money of me, for insurance as minimum. In any case, I really do not see how it can be my fault that the car is leaking.
  6. I would say all cars are misty inside during cold or wet morning, but some of them are more so. A while back I had a Passat which was parked for a week, when I came back to it the car had a layer of ice inside on the windscreen, it was cold in Edinburgh that time with temp dropping to -5-7C but still it was not supposed to happen but because car was too damp inside its just all turned to ice. I still do not know if the car had a leak, well, it had couple other issues too so it had to be gone.
  7. I went to Skoda, the guy from service dep removed the front passenger winter mat checked the dampness, touched the carpet, checked door seals and found nothing. We booked the car for coming Tuesday for further inspection, he said it might take a couple of days to find a leak, Skoda Glasgow is willing to contribute only 4 hours for this, after that they will be contacting Skoda UK to see if they will own the problem as my car is only 5 weeks out of warranty. He confirmed that Extended warranty does not cover if it is a seal, which brings the question - if it is a windscreen seal then it was badly manufactured as it is supposed to be sealed for life of the car so it is not my fault, right? If it is blocked sunroof drains, then how is it my fault if it is a bad design? We will see what causes the leak and start from there.
  8. I just bought it in June. I have 2 friends who have Skoda and no issues at all, this made me choose the manufacturer. I thought Skoda was in top 5 for customer service at some point but I wouldn't expect it to be at Lexus level., saying that their Sale dep was pretty good which is the case in most dealerships! This issue ****es me off big time, I even went to Autotrader to see what else is out there but then - every manufacture is guilty and have lots of problems which you do not know about until you start owning the car. Back to Lexus or a Toyota.
  9. @Rockinghorse thanks again for the advice, I do not have a decent relationship with the dealer yet as it is my first Skoda and first issue, for example, I had my Lexus for 4.5 years and Lexus Glasgow knew me and it always felt like they were on my side, in this case I am totally new guy walking in from the street. I hope I will be able to keep my temper in check. I need to be polity but firm as I want them to provide me with curtesy car and fix it under warranty and do it good from first attempt.
  10. Many thanks @Rockinghorse for the advice above, I do not know what to expect, will be seeing dealer later today, in a meantime I emailed the seller person to tell him about the issue, I understand that he doesn't give a s..t about me anymore (the car is sold to me) but wanted to document it and I told him that last night and this morning I was reading about this well known issue. I am like you - love the car but loosing the confidence in it slowly, jerky DSG, noisy ish engine, not as great fuel consumption as I expected but the leak is the worst one, I spend at least 5-7 minutes every morning to de-fog the car as it is pretty misty inside and when cold weather comes it will be ice - I had that before on my Passat, ice inside on the windscreen, never in my life I have seen this! Oh well, I hope they know the issue and I hope it will be covered by Extended warranty as my 3 years warranty finished in September!
  11. Hi, my car is 69 plate, I think it was registered in end of September 2019, so does it mean it was manufactured first half of 2019? I bought it from main dealer in Glasgow Henrys Skoda and I can not tell if the sunroof drain plugs were changed. I will ask them today. Thanks for the input, lets see how it goes!
  12. Thanks gents, I am paranoid about water ingress and I always clear my wiper trough on all the cars I have had, BMW was know for this as well, since then it is a habit to clean it. I found an old (2 years old) thread about this - a lot of people having the same issue and the problem is that the cause is different, it can be sunroof, badly glued windscreen, passenger side external mirror seal etc! I hope my dealer knows what it is! Will keep you updated, at the moment I am very disappointed!
  13. Hello all, I am the latest one with this issue - I own a Karoq 1.5TSI DSG with sunroof and I do have a leak somewhere as my passenger footwell is wet. Will pop in tomorrow to dealer who sold me the cat with 2 years extended warranty and see what they have to say. Very upset that I have never seen this thread before I bought the car!
  14. Hi all, Under my rubber mat in the passenger footwell is condensation, I thought that water stayed there after I washed my mats but I checked it tonight and my hand was wet and I haven't washed my mats for more than a week. I always try to dry my mats before I put them back into the car so to have dampness there was unexpected. Today was a bit chilly and car's windows all were misty due to condensation so I checked under the mat and the hand was slightly wet. Does any body came across this before? I plan to call Skoda tomorrow but would be good to have some information before hand so i know what to talk to them about. Thanks in advance everyone.
  15. I just saw your post above and it is a second job for DSG. Seems like it is a must - if you do remap Stage 1 then DSG needs to be looked at as well.
  16. Thanks for reply, much appreciated. So what output your car has now, bhp and Nm? Was it a 2 different jobs i.e stage 1 and DSG remap?
  17. Not sure photos were added as I do it from my phone. Will transfer photos tomorrow to my laptop and will try to attach them.
  18. This is what I did.
  19. Well done, looks as a very accurate job! Let us know if you noticed the difference in noise. I see you added foam as well to the doors, I wonder how much difference that will make.
  20. I think this piece was broken before I removed the panel as there was a slight buzzing on particular roads at particular engine speed, it would disappear if you push against the door panel, basically I was going to order a new cable but managed to fix it diy and is still works and doesn't make any noise, so all good! I managed to apply CTK Car Audio Vibration Proofing Sound Deadening Premium to all the doors, under the boot and under rear seat, the car did become a little quitter but mostly overall noise disappeared and feels like there are less vibration which is what you expect!

Good idea to talk to Ecotune, will do that. New clutches? That will be one hell of a bill! No, I need a bit more (not proper power) and trying to find it I can have it, well if the car can take it. I remember I tuned VW Passat, it was so much better than stock, 2.0TDi DSG it was.
  22. Vlady replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
There is a guy in Glasgow, he has dyno road and it is his business to tune the cars. it is not 340, it is actually 335Nm, not a big difference. I also contacted DTUK and they said that this gearbox can take much more than 250Nm, they sold so many boxes etc to VAG owners and no one complained or ever came back with damaged gearbox.
  23. Vlady replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
This is what I have read somewhere as well - 250Nm max, a bit strange I would say, I think there should be a little of back up. 340Nm may be a lot but if you don't use it for 0-61mph every time but for normal driving it shouldn't theoretically damage the gearbox. I was thinking to create a new thread to ask this question but here I am high jacking someone else's thread, sorry about that.
  24. Vlady replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
Not to which one of my questions? I do NOT have a DQ200? Sorry.
  25. Vlady replied to Alanphe's topic in Skoda Karoq
Sorry for high jacking the thread @Alanphe. @roottootI have front wheel drive 1.5 TSI DSG which is Edition spec, does it mean I have a different gearbox, not a DQ200? If it it DQ200 - you said it came with 1.8 TSi engine, does it mean it can take more HP and torque than 1.5 provides? I was thinking on chipping/tuning the engine a little, I won't be flooring from every traffic light but it is good to have a little more power under your right foot. The car drives fine as it is, I have not decided yet if I will do it as the car still under Skoda warranty but would be good to know for a future if the gearbox can take more. I think i was promised 180bhp and 340Nm torque. Thanks in advance.
