  1. While it's certainly not great, my MK3 Sportline is acceptable in terms of road noise. I've not added any sound deadening either. For reference, 2019 model with Goodyear Asymmetric 5 tyres (245/40/19). Tapping the body panels though, they sound really hollow. No where near the quality of my last 2 VW Golf's or BMW m140i. Even my wife's Alltrack is better screwed together.
  2. @ApertureS thanks for the reply mate. I had a poke around yesterday and the mirrors were the only bit I couldn't get off. Seems the dealer struggled too and they must have snapped the housing and glued it back together when they replaced the sunroof rails! 🤯
  3. Hi folks, My Superb hatch has been plagued with squeeks and rattles since I've owned it however, most have now been sorted. The last one that's really bothering me is the roof liner. The sunroof has been "repaired" by the dealer but the liner squeeks when going over rough road. This issue seems relatively common and is due to lack of insulation material between the liner and the roof. 2 Skoda dealerships have basically said there's nothing further they can do (which is BS) so I'm taking matters into my own hands. What I'm planning on doing is dropping the roof liner and adding something to stop the noise. This may be a combination of fabric tape and insulation material. My question is, has anyone ever tried this before or have any tips for removing/replacing the roof liner? I have the instructions downloaded from Erwin but experience goes a long way. Cheers!
  4. Hi mate, Was the dealer kind enough to show you where they put the foam or what they used for this? Have the same issue with my roof liner and the dealers in AUS are useless. @Graham Butcher my MK3 has been squeaky since I've owned it, though most were fixed under warranty. Still have issues with the roof liner and a few other bits.
  5. Not sure on that one mate, I don't have a paid account either and it just seems to work. This is how I found the service history on my Superb after purchasing it second hand. Are you able to get to it this way instead? Not too sure on your other questions, that's something you'd need to ask Skoda directly.
  6. Create an account on Erwin: https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/ Go to Digital Service Schedule and punch in your VIN If your car was serviced by a dealer, you should see the history. It's not exactly comprehensive, but better than nothing
  7. There are also some made by SuperPro that can give you up to 2 degrees postive caster: SPF4178K 9995-SPF4178K-5-4176IS.pdf
  8. You'll need a passenger in the car to help you narrow down the exact location. Unfortunately, it's too hard to determine otherwise. I've had rattles in both front doors, which was caused by a dealership using screws instead of rivets (possibly during another repair).
  9. Reviving this topic in case anyone has found a solution. So far I've had the sunroof rails replaced by the dealer and have also unclipped the roof lining however, still getting squeaks. For me at least, the sound is mostly near the rear vision mirror area. On a side note; use caution when disconnecting the roof lining. The clips can become dislodged and end up rattling around inside the liner.
  10. Hi folks, For those of you that have added sound deadening to your cars, did you find that this made any existing cabin rattles better or worse?
  11. Ah right, possibly was someone else then. Yeah it's not my first rodeo with noisy downpipes and have managed to fix 90% of the issues by trimming one of the exhaust hangers
  12. @Frankenfurter thanks for Julian's details. He was kind enough to help me with the DCC mod + A3 steering rack map. My original problem with the light steering has been fixed with the rack map. Also managed to get some Superpro lower control arm bushes to increase castor, so will give them a try soon too. He mentioned you had some fitment issues with your downpipe too (mine has been making all kinds of weird rattles). How did you end up sorting that out?
  13. Sounds unlikely that they actually replaced the whole gearbox then. The problem the dealers have in these situations is that they won't replace anything major until they get it cleared by the manufacturer (in this case, Skoda Australia) so they can be reimbursed for their costs. It may be that Skoda Aus are hoping that replacing just the mechatronics/clutchpacks will sort it out and telling the dealer to try that first. It sucks for us as the consumer though, as we're the ones who end up worse off in this situation.
  14. Avoid the sunroof, I'm on my 3rd trip to the dealer to have them "try" and fix the noises that it makes. It's a problem across other VAG models (Passat and Arteon) and there doesn't appear to be a solution that eliminates the issue completely.
  15. @Carlston & @Donweather Mine is a 4x4 Sportline hatch This was what Eibach Aus sent me when I asked about whether everything was correct: The ride heights you have on your vehicle are consistent and what is expected compared to the R&D heights as below. I would not be suggesting lowering the rear as that may cause other issues but would rather suggest lifting the front slightly with an alternative front springs from the VAG range. Before After F385 F385 R380 R380 F350 F350 R355 R355 Have written back to 100% confirm that this model is correct tor the hatch. I did send them photos though.
  16. Mine is a Sportline hatch but according to Eibach they are compatible with both. With yours being a wagon, that might account for why the rear sits lower. The additional weight might be pushing it down a bit. Measurements were 350mm front and 356mm rear. Unfortunately, I don't do much night driving so couldn't tell you if there was any range difference. Haven't noticed anything significant though.
  17. Do you happen to have a photo of how this looks and the model of the springs you installed? I have the opposite issue and rear is much higher than the front. Eibach have confirmed this is normal though after providing the measurements from hub to arch. For reference, the springs I have are: E10-79-012-04-22
  18. @Bingodalton it is the 6 speed wet clutch (DQ250). You were right about increasing the idle RPM though. I increased this by 50rpm (the maximum that OBDEleven would allow) and that has smoothed it out quite a lot 😁
  19. Looks awesome mate! Which wheels are those if you don't mind me asking?
  20. @Jamesnz did you ever get this resolved? Mine is exactly as you described.
  21. Took advantage of a sale on SuperPro a little while ago and ended up with the rear anti-roll bar / sway bar & end links: While there isn't any improvement to the steering feel, the handling is much better. More predictable, less body roll and much more fun in corners now.
  22. Probably due to eBay constantly price-gouging sellers. They'd have to up the price a bit or lose money. In that case, buy direct from the Tunershop website 😁
  23. Quality of the Eibach's is very good. Have used them on my last 3 cars and never had a problem. I'd recommend ordering through eBay if you have an account though. You'll at least have a quick resolution if the shipment goes missing or there's a problem. Tunershop have the same listing in multiples currencies so you can choose the one that works out cheapest for you.
  24. Bought mine through Tunershop via eBay. Price was the cheapest I could find and arrived pretty quick, considering I'm in AUS. Are you referring to "good or bad" as an experience of the seller, or of the springs themselves?
  25. Would your friendly neighbourhood ODIS/VCP expert be keen on helping me with mine too? I'd be willing to pay for their time
